After ripping Rush Limbaugh yesterday, Morning Joe sports reporter Fred Roggin today announced he would henceforth be keeping his mouth shut on the subject--after getting an earful from his wife.

As we had noted, during his Morning Joe sports slot yesterday Roggin took a number of shots at Rush and his quest to purchase an interest in the NFL's St. Louis Rams.  Among other barbs, Roggin falsely claimed that Rush had been "canned from ESPN for racist remarks about Eagle's quarterback Donovan McNabb."

A chastened Roggin had this to say this morning . . .

FRED ROGGIN: Now yesterday, I made some comments about Rush Limbaugh.  Not everyone agreed.  My phone was ringing off the hook--and every time, it was my wife. She offered this: "ya know, not everyone feels the same way you do in this house: stop talking!" So I will!
Responded Willie Geist, who yesterday seemed surprised by Roggin's outburst: "all right, Fred. Thanks so much for that clarification."

Guess we now know who has the smarts--and wears the pants--chez Roggin.

My sympathies go out to her.

“There are no easy answers' but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.” - Ronald Reagan (1964 Republican Convention)

Good For Her!

Too bad she wasn't married to Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann; it's overddue for both those motor mouths to be muzzled.

Shame on you

How could you wish that sort of thing for anybody.

Aren't they already taken?

I thought Matthews and Olbermann were married to each other.

I heard that rumor too...

turns out they are just dating. I wonder if Keith can put the same tingle up Chrissies leg as Obama!

"The bureaucracy is growing to meet the needs of the growing bureaucracy"

Not that

Not that there's anyplace for that tingle to land.

Poor tingle, wandering the wasteland of Chrissie's undies forever, seeking a worthy destination, but alas, none is to be found.

Not that there's anything

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Commentators

It's funny that when ESPN and Rush Limbaugh decided to part, I continued to watch ESPN and listen to Rush.

Keith Olbermann is a commentator on NBC's Sunday football show and I now cannot watch him and his sickly comments or NBC's program.

Am I the loser or is NBC? I'm not trying to sell anything and they are.

I agree

Every time I see that idiot Olbermann on TV I automatically change the channel. I do not want my mind to be polluted by the ramblings of such a hate filled type as him. His whole shtick is being angry but he is just a hate filled bigot that is upset that everyone does not believe that Keith is the smartest boy in the class.

I don't believe it was his wife.

He got hammered in the blogs for what he said and was informed about it. Whether the wife told him to cool it or not may be true but I'll bet he got beat up from all sides.

but the plan is...

I agree, I do the same thing... but you should always remember that Obabbleman is just a noisemaker at the Democratic "party"... cheap, easy to find and operate, he is intended to distract people from seeing or hearing anything else. Sadly, it works...  look at the boost in ratings for Letterman. More people were watching his show because they wanted to see him react to his current problem... not because they enjoyed his commentary.

Guess we know now

Who wears the pants in that family.

Tom in NC: GMTA: check last

Tom in NC: GMTA: check last line in item.

Sorry

Guess that's what I get for not reading the entire story.

Don't beat youself up

I've done it a number of times. I'm sure many others have as well.

"What a revoltin' development this is!"

could be

She was afraid Freddy would forget about his own stint in rehab and rip into Rush's past. oops

Freedom is a vital component of human effectiveness and fulfillment.

American sports writers and

American sports writers and the television personalities who cover sports (e.g., Fred Roggin) are as militantly leftist and as virulently stupid as their colleagues who cover politics, religion, economics, the arts, food, music, gardening, home decorating, the military, toilet paper, ....  Among the fringe leftists covering sports at the Dallas Morning News, two stand out: David Moore and Tim Colishaw.

fact check this

And the truth of the story is that Rush was not criticizing McNabb--- he was giving hell to the sportswriters and sportscasters who gave McNabb a pass instead of roughing him up like they would have done to any other quarterback for playing poorly.

But hey---why would those jerks go back and listen to what Rush actually said when it's more fun to continue the smear story. But McNabb knows what Rush said, and furthermore, McNabb said the whole event made him play harder and better.

It's amazing in this age of videos, YouTube, online access via Lexis/Nexis that leftist and liberals think they can continue to tell lies when everything they say can be "fact checked." Are you listening CNN? MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, NYT? WaPo?

I was disappointed when I heard what Roggin...

originally said.  He is lucky to have a wife with brains.  Jim Webster

how 'bout the ex-Mrs. Roggin

..this lady needs to find a real man. Maybe she should start watching Fox News.
