I agree, I love seeing Dean talk out of his @$$ on MSNBC or CNN. The more he talks, the dumber he sounds, like Biden. But he is starting to plagiarize like Biden. I caught some interview he did somewhere, & he puts his stamp of "authority" to what he said by finishing what he said with"...we are right, they are wrong...". Now the guy who has said that forever on his radio show, Andrew Wlikow, caught this. But for anyone without an XM or Sirius account, you won't know it.

At least when we use someones words as a tagline, we credit the people behind the quote, Dr.Dean. It is called attribution, look into it.

My typical response is to ask them to show me where Jesus demanded a QALY analysis before healing someone, or where he withheld treatment because someone was too old or sick to be deemed worthy.

That usually gets them flustered.

The thing is, if these people were really paying attention, they'd see that Obamacare doesn't meet the criteria for health care reform according to Catholic teaching - especially in the areas of respecting life, respecting the consciences of health care workers, and making it fiscally responsible and sustainable.

So I know that I'm in the right here.  I am not going to sacrifice the unborn, the disabled, the elderly on the altar of "social justice" just because people who already cherry-pick Catholic teachings think I'm going to hell.  Puh-leeze.

I think changes need to be made to the system, but I'm far more apt to want those changes to be similar to the ones Whole Foods CEO John Mackey suggested in his Wall Street Journal op-ed from August 12.  Here are just the main points:

• Remove the legal obstacles that slow the creation of high-deductible health insurance plans and health savings accounts (HSAs).

• Equalize the tax laws so that that employer-provided health
insurance and individually owned health insurance have the same tax
benefits.

• Repeal all state laws which prevent insurance companies from competing across state lines.

• Repeal government mandates regarding what insurance companies must cover.

• Enact tort reform to end the ruinous lawsuits that force doctors
to pay insurance costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. 

• Make costs transparent so that consumers understand what health-care treatments cost.

• Enact Medicare reform.

• Finally, revise tax forms to make it easier for individuals to
make a voluntary, tax-deductible donation to help the millions of
people who have no insurance and aren’t covered by Medicare, Medicaid
or the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Those are more than reasonable, and likely to be highly-effective, suggestions that could garner genuine health care reform.  In fact, I really don't have a quibble with any one of them.

And in case you didn't know, the Obama-loving far left is now engaging in a boycott of Whole Foods - including accusing the CEO of killing 21,000 people a year - because he suggested reforms different from Obamacare.  And here are some of the benefits and corporate policies of Whole Foods:

* Mackey lectures at Universities about the horrors of factory farming

* He says “Right now, Americans have to pretend factory farms don’t
exist. They turn their eyes away, because there’s no alternative,
there’s no choice. Once there is a choice, we will allow ourselves to
be outraged.”

* He makes $1 a year and donates his stock portfolio to charity.

* He set up a $100,00 fund to help his employees with personal problems.

* He’s a vegetarian and his company will not buy from producers that treat their animals unethically.

* He flies commercial, rents the smallest cars, and stays in the
cheapest hotel rooms - not because he’s cheap, but because he has no
need for largesse

* He and his wife participate in yoga

* He gives over $1 million a year to animal welfare groups, education, relief work, and spiritual movements.

* Employees have full say in who they work with - a new employee must receive a 2/3 vote in order to make it past probation.

* Employees also vote on all company-wide initiatives

* There’s a salary book in every store - “no secrets” management
believes everyone should know how much everyone else is making

* Executive salaries are capped at 14 times the lowest workers salary -
If they want more money, everyone else has to get more money first

* Non-executive employees hold 94% of company stock options

* Pay is linked to team performance - profit sharing

* At least 5% of annual profits go to local charities

* Full-timers get 100% of their health care costs paid for - under plans the employees have selected

* “They just have a lot more respect for you as a person here” says an employee

Michelle Malkin also has coverage on the union goons who are behind the boycott.  The thing is: isn't Whole Foods exactly the kind of company lefties always say they want?  A company that's not "greedy" that practices "good corporate citizenship" and treats its employees well?  I believe someone said the minimum pay range for Whole Foods employees is something like $13/hour.  I believe that the reasons for the outrage are twofold:

1. Lefties are annoyed that people dare contradict their messiah.
2. Lefties are upset that Whole Foods created such a work environment freely and without government interference (because if it doesn't come from the government, it doesn't count, apparently.  Especially when it comes to charity or corporate responsibility).

So this is a prime example of what everyday Americans are going through for opposing Obamacare as it stands.

But I'm refusing to get flustered.  Rasmussen yesterday had Obama's approval index at an all-time low of -14 (today it's at -11).  Over 80% of Americans are happy with their current health plans.  I'm praying Obamacare is dead in the water.
