Call it damning with fat praise . . .
After Sgt. James Crowley did a good job at his post-beer press conference, a condescending Chris Matthews—apparently surprised that a policeman could handle himself well in such a situation—said "I think we've got our Susan Boyle here."
Here's how Matthews ended the post-Crowley press conference kibitzing on the 7 PM edition of Hardball:
CHRIS MATTHEWS: I have to tell you: well I feel like we're watching "Britain's Got Talent," here. We'll be right back with Mark Whitaker and Roger Simon here on the Politics Fix. We've got our Susan Boyle here.
Joe Biden got raked over the coals during the primaries for calling Obama "articulate." Odds that Matthews undergoes the same kind of criticism for being surprised a cop spoke well in public?

July 30, 2009 - 20:00 ET by bigtimerHe used to at least be somewhat balanced with his reporting on msnbc...after the Clinton Episode he changed, he also quit drinking somewhere along the line too, so it has been said...maybe he needs a beer or two.
Could have something to do with the change at the top too...Nachman ran msnbc pretty good once he got in as far as I was concerned, slowly but surely...some sanity was coming back to the network, plus Olbie and Geraldo were gone, Soledad O'Brien as well, some others, just can't think of them at the moment...oh well, after Nachman was gone, it's been down hill ever since in my opinion.
RIP Jerry Nachman, I miss you.

July 30, 2009 - 21:58 ET by RR GOPCould've been worse-but of course Chrissy did not disappoint.
I used to watch his (and Olby's show) for years. As a conservative they didn't bother me a bit and I still believe they were very balanced back then. But as the last election cycle came up they became increasingly Libtardish and irrational and I just couldn't take them anymore.
In fact, I also watched Scarborough Country and Buchanan and Press religiously when they were on. However, MSNBC lost a loyal viewer when they went overboard in favor of the Democrats. Bias is OK in journalism if they don't hide it as far as I'm concerned, and I would like to hear RATIONAL takes on how they see things from the Other Side...but I just can't handle these jackals.
Fortunately there was Fox News, but it took me a while to 'discover' them. Wonder when they'll start messing up?

What about the AFL-CIO
July 30, 2009 - 19:32 ET by nwahsHow about that AFL-CIO connection?
I know there is no great fondness of unions here, how do you feel about Crowley giving his post beer press conference from AFL-CIO headquarters?
Why not Jeb Bush?
I'm not sure how that's
July 30, 2009 - 19:37 ET by Radical1979I'm not sure how that's relevant. I was concerned about the actions of the men that night and they're past as related to the incident. Where Crowley gave a press conference is unimportant.

I posted some of what I thought about his statements after I got to sit back down here on OT...and I did forget about that.

The irony of Chris commenting on an issue with racial overtones
July 30, 2009 - 19:40 ET by needleI make a point of NEVER watching Chris Matthews – it would be a profound violation of my principles. Accordingly I am wondering, after this tasteless remark on top of many others, if Chris is even capable of being gracious to someone who does not align favorably with his bigotry and profiling predilections?

My guess is the union paid his way to and from DC. The picked up the family at the airport, took them to the WH, then back to the union hall, from which he went back to the airport.
Just a guess, but I'll bet dollars to donuts the union was paying the freight.

I think I've heard Crowley say he supports Obama 110%. I have heard reports that he voted for him.
Therefore I take it he is a liberal.
I support Crowley in all this from the beginning, so don't get me wrong, the only person in the group today that should have made a statement and apologized was Obama....he started this all...this was already a settled matter in Cambridge before all of this.

I heard Crowley say something like

I support the president 110% but he fouled up on this one.
If he voted for the prig the last time, I bet he won't again. lol

How could I, you are right!

But he did say in an interview that he didn't vote for Obama.
A Typical Liberal Assumption, Based On Total Ignorance
July 30, 2009 - 20:08 ET by rammingspeedThat police officers are mentally challenged is the oldest stereotype in the liberal book. Liberals, of course, don't have any contact with cops, so they don't know what cops are really like. Just like everything else liberals know nothing about yet offer arrogant - condescending - opinions. Chris Matthews is a blowhole and does a good job of speaking for his cronies.

Total and Complete Arrogance
July 31, 2009 - 08:56 ET by PoolPlayerI think that Chris, KO, Maher and many more are beyond smug. They actually believe, without any doubt in their minds, that they are smart and pretty much everybody else is dumb. I honestly believe that these idiots are sociopathic in some sense - they just don't have any shame or guilt, never look back and never apologize when they are mistaken. When Maher was calling the USA dumb the other day, he meant it and he has no doubt in his mind that it's true. The smugness just drips off the man and it stinks to high heaven. Why would anyone hire these freaks?

August 1, 2009 - 08:44 ET by cwnelson79I would love to see someone beat the living crap out of Chris matthews. Snarky little bitch that he is. Little pompous, left wing jackass. Is it really a shock that the media elitists would find it odd that a normal everyday American had intelligence? To them average Americans are scum, stupid rednecks who need to be forced into correction by the government. These nazi's have contempt for the average man. I would not piss on matthews to save him from dehydration.
