The ABC meteorologist made his dire suggestion in the course of announcing the Obama administration's issuance of a report on the impact of climate change on the United States, which seems to cast matters in worst-case terms.

Recently, I vacationed in Charleston, South Carolina. Along the strand in the old section there are a couple of thousand multi million dollar homes. Persumably, their owners could live anywhere, but choose to live there. Yet, not a single home was being put on stilts. What is wrong with these people? Absolutely nothing. Champion is another in a long line of liberal propagandists.
My bet is Champion drives an SUV and has absolutely no alternative energy devices (solar and/or wind) installed in his home. Yet, as most liberal, he is all too ready to tell others how to live.
Meanwhile, one can't tell the difference between the drive-by media and the National Inquirer. They both spew unbelievable crap 24 X 7.

I told them both to change theirs to Florida. They are saving $6-10k a year in taxes vs. North Carolina. North Carolina is the highest taxing state in the south. Nevertheless, that savings would double if they were from some a state like New York.

No amount of CPL bulbs can offset the electrical consumption of an AC unit. Can you imagine living in Florida or most of the South without AC? NOT! I wish this yahoo would come down here, go to Daytona Beach after a big storm, and take a look at the brick walls along the front of the hotels. A lot of these places have barrier walls that date back to the first constructions back in the 1920s and 1930s, and after a big storm comes by and blows away a lot of sand, you can see areas that were built and painted way back then.
These guys are saying an increase in sea level of 1" will submerge most of the coastal region of Florida, but they're also saying that sea levels have already increased an inch over the past 50 or so years. If that's the case, why is it that the beach line is pretty much where it was 50 years ago? Why is it that the same sea walls that were built 60+ years ago are still being used today, and are as far away from the waves as they were in 1930 or 1940??? If their dire predictions were correct, you would think that the current 1" increase would at least submerge the old sea walls. Since that never happened, what makes them think another 1" will submerge most of the state?

I'd have to think that the most efficient place to live is in the sunbelt, excepting South Florida and Texas. It may be hot in the South, but in the Northeast and between WA and IL you need your own private oil tanker to keep warm in the winter.
