David Letterman "jokes" about Sarah Palin's teenage daughter having sex with A-Rod during a baseball game. For good measure he suggests the daughter would be of interest to Eliot Spitzer, infamous for soliciting a prostitute.
If Ed Schultz condemned Letterman, I missed it.
But let Sarah Palin's acceptance of Letterman's belated apology include thanks to the US military for making freedom of speech possible for all Americans, and Schultz condems Palin as "nothing but political slime."
Yes, that's precisely what the MSNBC host called Palin on his show tonight . . .
From the show intro:
ED SCHULTZ: David Letterman apologizes again [N.B.: because the first apology was so lame] to Sarah Palin. She turns it into a shameless political play. This woman is nothing but political slime.
Note: It's been quite the day for Schultz in the slander department. Earlier on Morning Joe, he declared emphatically that Dick Cheney "absolutely" wants Americans to die in terrorist attacks. The ratings-deprived MSNBC host has apparently decided not to let anyone beat him to the bottom of the barrel.

June 17, 2009 - 00:53 ET by mostlymoderateYou never hear a conservative commentator using words like "political slime" to refer to the opposition. The liberal media are shamelessly vile when they choose to dissent. Talk about hatred. Shultz, Maddow, Olbermann and then the lackey "comedic" guys like Maher, Stewart, Letterman et. Al display nothing but hatred on a daily basis. Does Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Buchanan etc. ever act like this? No. They talk about the issues and let the issues themselves impeach the credibility of the liberal politicians. There is no need to use 5th grade phrases like "political slime".
P.S. How is Palin "political slime"? Because she is a Republican that values the right to protect her children from perverted innuendo?

As far as Sarah Palin is concerned, I don't need to stand up for her, she does just fine on her own but it I were you I wouldn't make any trips to Alaska, a hunter might mistake you for a very fat, stupid elk and blow a hole through your chest, but don't worry your too damn ugly to have your head mounted on someone's trophy wall.
To me you're nothin' but dogsh*t, you understand? And a lot of things can happen to dogsh*t. It can be scraped up with a shovel off the ground. It can dry up and blow away in the wind. Or it can be stepped on and squashed. So take my advice and be careful where the dog sh*ts ya!

I mean really, how pathetic of a loser must you be to be judged, by your own people, as less than Shyster, when it comes to ratings? How can someone live with such mediocrity? I don't think this guy has a sincerely held belief in his body. He's just a mercenary. Apparently, he has always had anger control issues going back to being a sports caster, when he not much liked by the college he called games for. June 17, 2009 - 12:09 ET by Edhenry"Nothing but political slime" now that's a choice of words.
Sarah minds her business. DL, in a cheap attempt to gain a laugh, attacks her daughter (and gets a titter from the co-dependent, weak, liberal audience). Sarah defends her child. Then a weak, obtuse apology comes from DL. Sarah accepts.
If this is representative from the left, they can't win the vote of strong, independent minded americans. If americans believe and support this stuff, then they don't deserve democracy, based on individual responsibility and individual freedom.

Slimy but true
June 18, 2009 - 01:00 ET by gnusman53As usual, Palin was tone-deaf---- yet again.
It was a bad joke and Letterman paid for it, and she got an apology.
Problem was, she couldn't leave a winner of a quick skirmish.
She made herself into a loser when she and her husband went further and claiming Letterman was a pedophile who couldn't be trusted around young women....
She even dug herself in deeper into the political slime when she tried to bring the troops into the fray in a naked political ploy.
Because she didn't know when to stop, she has basically gone from a victim to a slimer -- just in the space of a few hours -- all on her own.
Schultz may have been harsh...but it was accurate, sadly.
And Schultz was right again about Cheney. Cheney was a coward with five deferments during the Vietnam War. He is trying to paint himself as a patriot now -- but he dishonors those who served with almost every sentence.
He lied and conspired to invade Iraq when he knew for a fact there were no ties between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. He and his "fellow patriots" destroyed a CIA cover operation to try to score cheap political points.
He continues to lie and blame others, even now.
So does Cheney want Americans to die.....?
Absolutely. Just to be able to say he was right....when he has been wrong all along.
As a vet, I know Cheney has absolutely NO credibility and has been the worst vice president in American history.
That is the biggest problem for the GOP...they gave up their identity to follow the fringers-- and that is now what the party has become...the fringe.
Seems like people are angry with Schultz here, but the truth hurts.
