Announcing this evening a new regular feature focusing on the blogosphere on his 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue show, Shuster made it clear that conservatives need not apply.
DAVID SHUSTER: Every day at this time, we're going to bring you a key issue in the progressive blogosphere. For what it's worth, Shuster's inaugural guest in the blogging segment was Joshua Marshall of Talking Points Memo.com. The subject was John McCain's credibility on the stimulus plan, and—surprise!—Marshall declared that when it comes to bi-partisanship, neither McCain nor any Republican has "any credibility" and that McCain has "just become a whiner at this point."
If you're interested in a liberal echo chamber, sounds like 1600 is your show!

We ought to invade his site....just for the fun of it. (I know...I know, it would be a waste of time.)

Mon, 02/16/2009 - 22:16 ET by bigtimerHey Ster...
Good-evening.
I'm not gonna' do it....can't really handle Shuster...or much of msnbc anymore, with the exception of what I get here and on FinkelBlog ...that is enough for me for the time being, may change as time goes on, who knows.
If you do decide to do this, let us know how it goes. ;-)
So, David Shyster is going to be regurgitating regressive...
Mon, 02/16/2009 - 22:00 ET by R D Helm...anti-freedom, socialist bile on his little blog segment, with nothing to counter any of it.
I am sure all twelve of his viewers, and that twelve includes his mother, will just be all torn up over that.

Tue, 02/17/2009 - 00:09 ET by kgI thought MSNBC already has 3-4 hours of progressive blogosphere each and every night. Nothing like having Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow and now Shuster all covering the exact same thing.

Tue, 02/17/2009 - 00:34 ET by blazermaniacI don't think that anyone needs to apply when it comes to listening to this blow-hard. Just another reason why PMSNBC isn't good for anyone to watch.
KG...
Tue, 02/17/2009 - 11:39 ET by danybhoyYou are almost there KG, here is my take. MSNBC a hybrid of several things...
1. Progressive Blogs-Like Kos, MediaMatters, DemUnderground, ThinkProgress, MoveOn, etc...
2. Progressive Talk Radio-We have Rachel Mancow from Error Amerikkka who has her/his own show, plus quite often you will see people like Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, & Bill Press as panelists...
3.Lib Journalists-We then have jounalists who have claimed forever that they can be huge libs, but could call it down the middle. Like BathTubBoy tried to say when axed how he could be on NBCs debate coverage. These lib jounalists outed themselves whether or not they realize it. Many in the MSM have lost the trust of many in America, & the falling ratings of the 3 network newscasts, the piss poor numbers of cablenews outlets like CNN & MSNBC compaired to Fox, & the circulation numbers of newpapers that have been falling like Wile E Coyote off of a cliff, are all proof of this.
As for Shuster, he really sucks @$$, & he is just one of many reasons why I'll never buy another GE product as long as I live.
"...it's still We The People, Right?" Megadeth
dany,
Tue, 02/17/2009 - 21:48 ET by R D HelmI no longer buy GE products, either, for exactly the same reason.

Mon, 02/16/2009 - 22:06 ET by TexndocIsn't that the only possible audience for his show? He's on in the afternoon, not replayed a second time, and I can't imagine his viewing audience number is in the 6-figures. I'd laugh if he though he could peel away "non-progressive" viewers from FoxNews or the disinterested politically from Rachael Ray and Food Network. In fact, his audience would double if he started a cooking segment.

Tue, 02/17/2009 - 03:03 ET by Rush Fanaware that she is a democrat and naturally a supporter of Barack Obama. Last year Mrs. Ray contributed $30,000 to the Democrat Party and Barack Obama.
So as attractive as she is and as nice as she appears to be, Rachel Ray is a liberal democrat, and therefore not very bright as far as I am concerned. Then again, I don't have much respect for liberals and democrats. They are not just misguided. Their ideas and policies are dangerous!

Mon, 02/16/2009 - 23:25 ET by RpeggioI love when lefties say the Republican's ideas lost and America voted for change and Liberal ideas yadda yadda....Obama got 52% of the vote, that means 48% of us didn't vote for The One and don't want socialistic liberal huge gov't spending ideas etc..

Tue, 02/17/2009 - 03:16 ET by cocodrieYou should use gerbils, they don't bite, eat less and run a little faster,
My older son had gerbils. I found out after my son was an adult that he used to get the one named Flash high on marijuana seeds then send him on flights in model rockets. The little fellow made over a dozen flights in the clear plastic payload section. He got real mean but lived to a ripe old age.

What gives?
Tue, 02/17/2009 - 11:17 ET by Meredith1966Can anyone explain what is 'progressive' about American liberalism when it is obvious that American liberalism embraces aspects of socialism? There is nothing progressive about the type of collectivist, redistributionist way of thinking that defines socialism. It inhibits freedom in so many ways that it cannot be thought of as progressive, not when the basis of this nation's founding was on individual liberty and Natural Rights Theory. It can only make sense if your way of thinking is that good of the group is more important than the freedom of the individual; if so, then you cannot, in my mind, be a true progressive because you are willingly inhibiting the natural freedom and liberty that all of us possess when we enter this world. Having those freedoms compromised by government is naturally regressive, hence American liberalism cannot be properly labeled as progressive because it openly attempts to limit freedom through government regulation.
