Message to Scott McClellan: when your guy's gaffe merits a screaming headline at Drudge [see after the jump] about how he's had to apologize for what he said, he's messed up. Big time. But that didn't stop Pres. Bush's former press secretary—turned Soros-paid scrivener—from going on TV and proclaiming that Obama turned in a flawless performance in his debut presser today as president-elect.
McClellan appeared on MSNBC's "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue," David Gregory's post-election vehicle taking the place of "Race for the White House." In an odd bit of balance, McClellan, who endorsed Obama, was on with former Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart. Mika Brzezinski guest-hosted for Gregory. Lockhart went first, and predictably proclaimed that Obama "made no mistakes" in his press conference today. No prize for candor, but what do you expect? Then it was McClellan's turn, and he went into parrot paradigm [with no offense to the baby red-front macaw I'm bringing home tomorrow].
Readers will recall that during the press conference, Obama made a heartless joke at Nancy Reagan's expense that within hours had him calling the former First Lady to apologize. That didn't stop the sycophant from asserting that Obama had turned in a mistake-free performance.
SCOTT MCCLELLAN: I agree with Joe: that there are no mistakes, and he came across as reassuring and he was very deliberate and thoughtful and pragmatic, which is something that he has shown throughout the campaign as well.
Let's see. Obama makes a joke at the expense of the 87-year old widow—recently released from the hospital with a broken hip—of a beloved former president. Shortly thereafter, Obama is forced to apologize, and is getting pounded at a highly-influential web site. Yet McClellan sees no mistake. What do we deduce?

Obama made no Mistakes
November 7, 2008 - 22:43 ET by Lame CherryTake the traitor at his word, Mr. Finkelstein.
McClellan has now made it public that Barack Obama deliberately meant to savage a woman recovering from a broken bone in a life threatening condition.
Barack Obama deliberately meant to term people of mixed race as mongrels (mutts) in the same phrases coming out of Nazi Germany.
As Obama made no mistakes, this is what liberals led by Mr. Obama believe.
The Obamerica begins.

November 7, 2008 - 22:59 ET by porpoiseboyhoooeee! i could not have said that better. scott mclellan is a creep of the highest order. i have to admit i was not all that aware of him b4 his benedictarnoldness except i know i had seen and heard him b4. he is a traitor of the highest degree, but to be fair he is not much lower than dick morris. anyone who would savage those who's sides they defended in the past and who's teats they nursed from should always be looked on with skepticism. with morris, since i am on the "right side", it is harder to criticize, gut with where he came from, maybe it would have been better had he faded into the sunset if he wasn't just an opportunist.

Maybe McClellan is bucking
November 7, 2008 - 23:18 ET by dscottMaybe McClellan is bucking for the spot of press secretary. He could be seeking "rehabilitation" in the eyes of the MSM. Besides, being a press secretary in an Obama Administration will be a cake walk with the MSM in love with Obama and write glowingly of him so he will grace them with his presence. We know there are two TV stations on his no interview list.

November 8, 2008 - 14:05 ET by pmohbuckbut i'm more in line with thinking that he sold himself to the devil by siding with dems ... they'll use him for all he's worth and then dump him unceremoniously on the side of the road on the way to the white house. he's a turncoat with no appeal (as opposed to colin powell).
used and abused ... i'll wait for his next book explaining how the two party system is ruining our country in addition to him announcing he's coming out of the closet and how oppressed he felt being gay amid republicans. i think his career as a potential political playmaker ended when he displayed his inability to handle a hostile press corps ... he looked like a kid getting beaten for his lunch money everytime he faced them.

Biden even said it was patriotic. Suddenly the Obama won't answer it directly. Sorry Mr. Obama, this isn't 1940. November 8, 2008 - 01:41 ET by fitzfongPerhaps the media thinks they can create a Bob Uecker persona out of Mumbles McClellan...after all, Uecker managed to make a fruitful 2nd career out of commenting on his first career (one that he was notoriously bad at). But this experiment will fail miserably for four reasons: 1) Uecker was promoted to the Majors on merit, McClellan was just the proverbial turd that floated to the top of the bowl, 2) Bob Uecker at least managed to hit .200 in the big leagues, 3) Bob Uecker understood that he was a limited pro (and made a joke out of it), McClellan actually believes that he was competent and 4) Bob Uecker has a personality...McClellan is just a stiff, ordinary bureaucrat who got promoted well beyond his capabilities. Scott McClellan is a scumbag and his users will simply discard him in the trash when they're finished...because you know, a scumbag is only useful once.

How low can McClellan go?
November 8, 2008 - 04:43 ET by riff_raffMost career politicians, at any level, are losers that can't get a job doing anything else. So they become bureaucrats to give themselves the power to control other peoples live, and make themselves feel important.

McClellan
November 8, 2008 - 09:22 ET by TexndocI, of course and from Texas, and I still can't forgive my President Bush for this choice. At a time when the nation was at war in Iraq in the initial phases and the MSM was a pack of rabid dogs and the citizens needed re-assurance and calm forceful talk from the President's spokesman, a chosen man with a spine of steel, President Bush put this sack of cottage-cheese in front of cameras. It was painful to watch five minutes of one of his press-conferences.
Don't Blame McClellan Blaime the Man who Hired Him
November 8, 2008 - 09:50 ET by allanfLet's not blame the rather feckless Scott McClellan for being a codswallop. Let's look at President Bush, and ask, why on earth did you let this man represent you as Press Secretary?
Similarly, let's not blame the John McCain staffers for leaking feculent tittle-tattle. Let's ask Senator McCain, why were such people working in high positions in your campaign?
Republicans need to be clarity of purpose and crystal clear vision. John McCain's view that Republicans are just "Democrats Lite" was soundly rejected by the voting public. Bush's desire to for bi-partisanship was rewarded with snarky rejection and low poll numbers.
Let's make sure future campagins have employees committed to a principled vision for Amercia. When that happens, such leaks will not occur.

November 8, 2008 - 10:23 ET by allanfI think you misread my post. In fact I have not be called a liberal in years.
My contention is that when one tries to accomodate and please those who ferverently disagree with you, disaster results.
President Bush suffered the greatest drop in popularity of any modern President when Scott McClellan represented him. It is now clear that McClellan really did not believe in President Bush, but yet he represented the man. I submit if Tony Snow had been Press Secretary he would have attenuated the decline.
Apparently, John McCain repeated President Bush's poor personnel choices. In his emplye wer aides who did not believe in Sarah Palin. These men and women wanted to be B sharp Democrats. That approach did not work and it will never work.
Until Republicans are proud of their own skin, losses at the polls will be their condign fate. Republicans must show clarity of purpose and committment to their beliefs.

And who let those journalist in there? What a bunch of dumb asses. They ask questions about things he had already "almost" spoken on. McClellan wouldn't know a flawless press conference if it dropped on him. He never had one. I always wondered why GWB didn't purge his lumpy butt way back in the beginning when he first took over.
