Biden Versus the 'Bucket of Fluff'

Photo of Mark Finkelstein.

The woman introducing Joe Biden to a Michigan crowd yesterday called Sarah Palin a "bucket of fluff."   Biden then told the crowd that Barack Obama is too smart and too well-educated to live in a Republican neighborhood.  Now that the Dems have put Obama's smarts and education on the table, will the MSM demand Obama finally release his Columbia transcript?

Of all the people the Dems might have chosen to raise the issue, Joe Biden?  He who publicly claimed to have finished in the top half of his Syracuse law school class . . . when in fact he was 76th in a class of 85, plagiarizing a paper there along the way?

But, OK, fine.  Biden's put it out there.  We know about Biden's academic record. And John McCain's far-from-stellar academics at the Naval Academy are well documented.  Sarah Palin apparently moved around quite a bit in college. But there's one person about whom there is a very large lacuna when it comes to his academic record: one Barack Obama.  His campaign has refused to release his Columbia University undergraduate transcript, the one upon which he was admitted to Harvard Law.  Now that Biden has put smarts on the table, will the MSM demand that Obama come clean on Columbia?

Story Continues Below Ad ↓
That woman who introduced Biden?   In a burst of feminist solidarity, here's what Barbara Theaker had to say about Sarah Palin:
BARBARA THEAKER: Barack Obama has made an intelligent choice for the vice-presidency.  How so very different this is from that bucket of fluff that the Republican candidates have chosen for the same position.
Biden can be seen in the video trying to slink off the stage in embarrassment. But he overcame his better instincts and came back later to publicly extol Theaker: "“I’ll tell you what, you are good.  My lord, all I need is ten of you in America and this is a walk home.”

Alright then.  It's Biden versus the Bucket of Fluff, and the creaky old fighter pilot versus . . . well, we're not quite sure.  Will the MSM do its job and try to discover just what it was at Columbia that Barack Obama doesn't want the world to know about?

As for the politics: after Clinging Bitter-gate, how will Americans react to being told they're intimidated by Obama's smarts; that he's too smart for their neighborhood? And how will women respond to hearing that someone whom they like and respect for her grit and achievement is nothing but a bucket of fluff?

Anyone know Obama's academic

Anyone know Obama's academic record at Harvard?

Nothing on Google...about Barry's record.

Besides all of that...Has anyone noticed how "fundamentally strong" the economy is doing? The stock market is still above 10,000.

I'm trying to decide if I want those who think the economy is doing well and keep in place the same people who have created this strong economy or put in place people who want to fix the imaginary problems in the financial markets. Gosh, I think I'll wait a little bit on my decision and see if my Lehman Bros. account is doing well...

Oh my gosh...WTF! What has happen?!? No bailout?!? Here I've been on this site following the Sarah Palin stories while the financial markets are in turmoil...I'm done with Sarah's moose stew stories. I think I can only afford Ramen noodles, now! Where do the breadlines start?!? Any gold left in Alaska? Are they still hiring contractors for Iraq? I hear they pay upwards to $350,000? Hey Sarah can I borrow your gun? Stop clinging to it, I need to make some money...God will save us, pray woman, pray!

Obama's brain on drugs

Yeah, it's a depression, with 25% + of the workforce (at the time, the workforce was white males, unemployment was about 50% for minorities) unemployed. Obama really knows his history.

Hope and change?

Funny how these democrats always demand openness from their opponents, then refuse to open their own records. More insults, too, from the inclusive bunch, 'bucket of fluff', 'lipstick on a pig'. The same old democrat politics, slurs, lies and attacks, no hope, no change.

P.S. I don't want either of these buffoons living in my neighborhood.

six schools

in as many years..is not stellar but Harvard Law Review certainly is...30 plus years in Congress would be considered an acheivement...A broken POW that is lying in his campaign to get to power is dishonorable...a hockey mom who practices "No Skills" Hunting and took a 8 hours plane ride with a 'special needs ' child in the birth canal is not what most would consider the judgement necessary to answer a phone or be close to the 'button'.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

I give thanks each day of this campaign that Joe Biden is on the Democrat ticket.

American voters, especially in "flyover country," love it when candidates imply that they're stupid.

I'm starting to think that the only hope the Obama bin Biden ticket has left is somehow clearing the playing field of the Republican candidate. It's the only way Barry can win elections.

They really need to dump Biden.

I don't know what to think about Biden being on the ticket. When Obama picked him as running mate, I thought that Obama doesn't really control his campaign. I think that more and more each day. It's possibly someone in Chicago or leftist Democrats in Washington pulling his strings. Who thinks matching the #1 liberal in Congress with the #3 is a winning combination? That makes me think Washington and not Chicago.

I also think that Obama has incredibly poor judgement. Picking Biden is another bad choice in a long line of bad choices. He associates with a unreformed terrorist, a deranged preacher, and a radical priest. Let's not forget Aunt Esther, either.

Barry has supported infanticide when the tide of the nation is turning against abortion. He would opt to abandon Iraq and leave it to the wolves of radical Islam (perhaps he feels a brotherhood). In three statements he never really got it right about Russia's sacking of Georgia.

The guy is a class "A" flake and should be nowhere near the presidency. The Democrat party needs to re-evaluate its primary and nominating process to make sure that lousy candidates and leaders like Obama and Biden don't even sniff the presidency.

I know a lot of mostly conservative Democrats who have yielded control of that party to the left wingers. The conservatives I know live like a political animal with no home. The social structures of local parties make it impossible for them to dump their party, but because they work so hard for a living they don't have time to seize control of it at the state and national level to keep them from nominating a flake like Obama.

Joe Biden is a bigger flake than Obama. With the possible collapse of our economy, these two guys could win the election and have the power to alter the fundamental principles of the American economy. I'm afraid things are ripening for lurch toward socialism.

Barack

"As for the politics: after Clinging Bitter-gate, how will Americans react to being told they're intimidated by Obama's smarts; that he's too smart for their neighborhood?"

Well he maybe too smart for my neighborhood. That is ok.We also dont have socialist in my neighborhood or people getting bribes from Rezko.

College

This emphasis on college, the "right" college is really irritating. Here in the US, isn't one of our premises that anyone can create their own path to success? Plenty of really smart people don't have college degrees and plenty more don't have degrees from elitist colleges. Bill Gates for one.

My parents are a couple of the smartest people I know and neither has a college degree. My dad spent a couple of years in college before joining the Army, enlisting before he was drafted. He retired as a systems analyst for a large insurance company. Very successful. Mom never attended college, she took the traditional wife and mother path that my siblings and I really appreciated. However, she's self-educated and quite knowledgeable on the financial industry. None of us need advisors, we have Mom.

I attended 3 different universities with 3 different majors and never did graduate (much to Mom's dismay). I was bored with school and couldn't seem to find my niche. I got married, had 3 kids and worked as a state employee in a research library for 10 years. I then took computer classes and have been an IT manager of one sort or another for 11 years. If I do ever get back to school, I'll major in a subject I love - history - instead of trying to find a career path.

I think a lot more people identify with Palin's path than with Obama's. Most people don't get their college education handed to them on a silver platter, they have to work for it.

BTW, the instructors at the state college I attended for 2 years were far superior to most of the elitist professors at the two universities I attended. They were more involved in their respective fields and more interested in their students. There were exceptions at all of the schools but I consider the educational quality at the state school much higher.

Hey Rat' Party

Bucket of Fluff?
