You could see this one coming. After Harry Smith called Sarah Palin "Geritol" for McCain, some MSM wag was sure to take things the next step. I'd say it just happened. NBC News DC bureau chief Mark Whitaker was chatting with Andrea Mitchell at 1:27 PM EDT today.
MARK WHITAKER: [People] want to see passion. They want to see that Obama, and the same thing is true of McCain, and we've seen him [show] a lot more passion since he picked Sarah Palin, it's definitely --
ANDREA MITCHELL: Someone described it as Geritol.
WHITAKER: Well, or something else. Put a little pep in his step!
Andrea's laugh left no doubt she knew just what Whitaker had in mind.

Wait.......
September 10, 2008 - 13:32 ET by JOSH R-NYBefore we go nuts on this piece,.......They did say it on Fox News yesterday. One anchor questioned aloud "Is Palin the Viagra for the McCain Campaign". We all know that the Fox anchor was joking and more or less reffering to energizing the campaign.
As where on MSNBC they were more or less mocking McCains old age with a funny little pun.
In all fairness, both networks said it, but I believe that the intent and rancor behing it was much deeper on MSNBC.
Soooo...it's called humor.
September 10, 2008 - 13:35 ET byThe right and left are saying the same thing...Biased?
It's funny...Bob Dole comes to mind.

September 10, 2008 - 14:06 ET by c5thenmaybe Obama and Biden need to do a little hugging and handholding on their campaign stumps.

Nice to see the Liberal "verbal shorthand" on the former MSM
September 10, 2008 - 14:16 ET by JayTeethese Media Squirrels only have 2 more months to "connect" their common thoughts in this manner . . . after that, the Former MSM and Obama are delegated into the "Also Ran" category.
This could become a new "Best Candidate" POTUS selection method for Americans, Pick whoever the MSM attacks, Drop from consideration whoever the Talking Head Press Corp Supports.

September 10, 2008 - 14:43 ET by JayTeeThe Democrat version of American Idol to pick a candidate next time ?
It has been a Democratic Popularity campaign, but the MSM doesn't realize who the Real American Hero is, and who represents Middle America the best.
We have seen BHO as the MSM version of their "Favorite Candidate" of Substance. But all the Libstick didn't work, Black Guys can't Ice Skate, white men can't Jump, and Moose will have no place to hide is Palin is Elected.

Biden Action figure
September 10, 2008 - 14:36 ET by bigtimerHey did anybody see on this show where they were talking about the action dolls....they were showing the Palin doll, then they went on to McCain and Obama...then someone, Joe or someone mentioned they didn't have a Biden action doll yet...Willie Geist (sp) said yeah, all they would have to do is have a figure of him, pull the string and he talks for three hours straight....
I about died laughing...then he also added it would be great for the kids...
Wished there was a link..it was funny.

I didn't see that, but that
September 10, 2008 - 14:59 ET by motherbeltI didn't see that, but that IS hilarious!!
However, regarding the topic of this posting, the Viagra joke would be funny if it didn't come at the same time as, or on the heels of, the CBS story about the supposed "inappropriate" hugging between McCain and Palin, plus Sally Quinn's fantasy tale of Cindy McCain "maybe" being jealous.
They are really nasty, trying to create a scandal by innuendo.
The real Biden doll
September 10, 2008 - 15:05 ET by Mica the MagnificentThe Biden doll comes with individual hair plugs (just like the real thing, kids!) And each plug is carefully set and curled and wrapped in a 'map of the world' babushka, ready for traveling to a new and exciting campaign stop.
Pull the string and he says, "I don't wanna debate that b**ch! Waaaaaa!"
I agree mb...I tell you
September 10, 2008 - 15:08 ET by bigtimerI agree mb...I tell you this is going to get worse before it gets better...and that won't be until Obama loses.
I am sick of him, I am sick of the msm, I am sick of this election, I am sick of Hillary..
As an aside I just heard Shuster say that and ad was pulled that had the subject of Obama and education, why not to vote for him and his policy regarding this, then saying it was racist...
Is he nuts? There was nothing racist about it.
They just do not quit...grasping at straws that aren't even there anymore.

More class from the Democrats
September 10, 2008 - 15:16 ET by Prester John"South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler sharply attacked Sarah Palin today, saying John McCain had chosen a running mate " whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”
Palin is an opponent of abortion rights and gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, earlier this year after finding out during her pregnancy that the baby had Down syndrome.
Fowler told my colleague Alex Burns in an interview that the selection of an opponent of abortion rights would not boost McCain among many women.
“Among Democratic women and even among independent women, I don’t think it helped him,” she said.
Told of McCain's boost in the new ABC/Washington Post among white women following the Palin pick, Fowler said: "Just anecdotally, I believe that those white women are Republican women anyway."
