Will Obama Support Chicago Surge? Hometown Death Toll Double Iraq's

Barack Obama famously refused to support the surge in Iraq, claiming it would "make things worse." Events have of course proved him very wrong, as Obama had to admit to Bill O'Reilly. Now that he's acknowledged the efficacy of a surge, will he call for one . . . in his own hometown?

As per this item [via Drudge] from the CBS affiliate in Chicago:

An estimated 123 people were shot and killed over the summer. That's nearly double the number of soldiers killed in Iraq over the same time period.

So how about it? Will some enterprising MSM member ask Obama if he'll call for a police surge to protect the lives of his own Illinois constitutents?

Tee it up, but if not done carefully you'll need to face a week of the Press suggesting (incorrectly, but when has that ever stopped them) that a McCain administration will feature military action against civilians on our home turf! Or some BS like that...complete with images of Kent State, etc.

When Obama was a community activist in Chicago and a State Senator in Illinois, Obama flat out opposed increasing aggressive law enforcement actions. he was more worried about the "civil rights" of dangerous criminals.

In Iraq, Obama wants to withdraw our troops and surrender.

Recently, there have been MORE murders in Chicago than Iraq.

Governor Rod was talking about bringing in state troopers, and possibly getting help from the National Gurard a while back.

I want to say that the state troopers have already come and did some operations, but I can't say for sure. Not that Obama had anything to do with it though. He's been too busy running for President the last 2 years.

But Chicago can definitely use some help. There's a different 10year old boy or girl caught in crossfire almost every day.

Dang, I was going to suggest the same thing. Following that theme, it's the gun toting police's fault because their blue shirted goose stepping presence stirs up strife in the neighborhoods. We wasted all that money on the police, just look at the results, have they EVER defeated crime? Have they EVER had a month with zero crime? This is a quagmire and it's unfair to the country to pay out all this money when there are so many other needs, promises to keep and votes to buy. <sarcasm>

and I wish people would start listening to us. Obama did nothing for this state. Especially in trying to lower the crime rate in his own precious South Side.

Yes, they are wanting to cut back on the state troopers in the lower part of the state, and move them into Chicago. Our governor is corrupt, and involved himself with Rezko as is Obama.

Chicago is totally corrupt, and no one seems to be doing enough to checking out Obama and his dealings in Illinois. I'm so disgusted with the media for not going after his background (which he is hiding) and for going instead after a 17 year old and her boyfriend.

I've heard that his only executive experience, his years working with William Ayers (the unrepentant terrorist) on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, was a dismal failure. Wonder when the media will get to that during the "vetting process" on which they so pride themselves?

Apparently, his experience as a "Community Organizer" was a complete failure too. And I wonder when the media is going to tell the public about the actual meaning of that "job"?

The war is Chicago is lost. We need to keep those federal tax dollars home where they can be used to do good. I along with my fellow Texans demand a complete pull out of Chicago. We want a time table on when this will be accomplished. I am considering a committee to study how things could have gone so wrong in Chicago. It's time we let Chicagoans determine their own future! We in downstate Illinois wish that Chicago was it's own state. It is almost entirely democrat, which is why Illinois goes blue each election. The rest of the state is almost entirely red. We in the rest of the state are sick and tired of Chicago running this state. Our capitol is in Springfield, but our government is run by the crimelords in Chicago. Government funding most always goes to pet project in Chicago. Hardly anthing gets funneled downstate. Obama is part of this crime family.

I'm not too sure that Illinois won't go red this November though. If they keep killing each other in Chicago, maybe we will have a fighting chance!
