The MSNBC promo bills the network as "the place for politics." Looks like it's the place for rib-ticklin' comedy, too. Check out Keith Olbermann's side-splitter from the ad:
KEITH OLBERMANN: This is one of those turning-point-in-history American elections. We as citizens must at some point ignore partisanship. Not that we may prosper as a nation, not that we may achieve, not that we may lead the world, but that merely, we may function.VOICEOVER: MSNBC: The place for politics.
View video here.
Let's see if I understand Olbermann: forget about American exceptionalism. We need to become non-partisan simply to get by. Inspiring stuff! In any case, what should we make of the spectacle of the most bitterly partisan man in television preachily instructing us to ignore partisanship?
Keith will be at the Laff Shack all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

Keith Olbermann is an American Hero
September 1, 2008 - 13:29 ET by allamericandudeHe is the best thing that ever happened to American journalism since the great Edward R. Murrow who exposed the lunacy of that fascist Joe McCarthy. I honor and respect Keith because he is the only guy in the corrupt US media who is holding the Bush Regime accountable for it criminal actions. Keith is a great asset to our Democracy. He deserves a purple heart for standing up and defending our civil liberties as America citizens.
I thank MSNBC for giving Mr. Olbermann the opportunity to fight for America nightly on his program. If it wasn't for Keith the Bush Regime would have gotten away with so many things. A Regime that wants to shred our constitution and make us all less safe CANNOT be left unchallenged. Thank God that my hero has been holding their feet to fire every step of the way. Keith is a thorn in their side. No wonder Darth Vader Cheney made note of his program Countdown at a recent White House Press Corps Gala. Keith keeps the enemies of Democracy up at night. They are forever plotting how to defeat him but they shall never prevail for whosoever God has blessed, let no man curse.

If you think Keith has been acerbic in some of things he has to say about the right, wait till you what Maher has dished out against the Bush Regime over the years. Way to go Keith!
September 1, 2008 - 14:06 ET by allamericandudeIs there a network more partisan that fox news? none that I can think of. Fox has long staked its claim as the penis for the RNC and has made sticking it to the Dems its primary objective. MSNBC is hardly partisan with the likes of conservatives like Joe Scarborough, Tucker Carlson and Pat Buchanan. There is no liberal alternative on Fox, all their programs lean so far to the right, they are almost approaching fascism.
Keith is right, we as citizens must indeed at some point ignore partisanship. If the Republicans at the fox nutwork would heed this advice, the media would be a lot more trustworthy. We all know what party Roger Ailes bow to so that will never happen. My advice to my hero Mr. Olbermann is this: keep doing what you do best - continue sticking it to the wicked Republicans. Fox news should disarm first then we'll consider our options, but for now Go get 'em Keith!
