If Joba Chamberlain's debut as a Yankee starter didn't go that well last night, Joe Scarborough wasted no time this morning in demonstrating that, after a stint on the DL, he still has his stuff. Within minutes of reassuming his host's role, Scarborough unleashed a high hard one in the direction of Chris Matthews's chin.
Scarborough, back from an extended leave spent with his wife who's experiencing a difficult pregnancy, reported that the medical situation seems to have stabilized. Readers will surely join in wishing Joe and his family well.
The opening segment was, naturally, devoted to a discussion of Barack Obama's clinching of the Dem nomination, and to Hillary Clinton's less-than-gracious speech in which she declined to withdraw from the race and pointedly kept her options open. Which in turn led Scarborough to suggest that, at the beginning of Obama's campaign, there were only three true believers.
JOE SCARBOROUGH: It seems to me that the Clintons have very little respect for Barack Obama. This was his night. An historic night. A night that nobody believed—but perhaps Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Chris Matthews—this was a night that very few people believed would ever happen. It happened. And on that night, she's sticking a sharp stick in his eye, saying listen: you either make me Vice-President, or you put me on the Supreme Court if that's what I want, or you play with me, or else . . . this is going to get really ugly.
Ouch.

Bonus Coverage: No Self-Esteem Problems for Barack
Check out the excerpt from Obama's speech last night that comes at the beginning of the video clip. He says:
Because you chose not to listen to your doubts or your fears, but to your greatest hopes, and highest aspirations, tonight we mark the end of one historic journey with the beginning of another.
So Obama presents himself as the embodiment of people's "greatest hopes and highest aspirations." Self-esteeem on steroids.

sheesh.
"American Idol: Presidential Edition"
June 4, 2008 - 07:56 ET by DontFeedTheTrollsThis is like "American Idol: Presidential Edition". Phone in your vote. The bubble-heads will finally get to choose who runs (ruins) this country. Curious if anyone else noticed what happens to big cities (LA, Philly, Baltimore, Chicago, etc.) when they are taken over by Democrat administrations, is that what we can expect for the country from Obama?
D
P.S. All these libs think that when Obama is elected they can wash away their 'white guilt'. Wrong!! The Reverends Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, etc. will still be out there.

Obama as POTUS, with
June 4, 2008 - 08:20 ET by rimskyObama as POTUS, with Hillary as VPOTUS? Dear God.
It was really bad for me in 1992 when Bill Clinton became President. Now, in 2008, if there is a winning Obama/Clinton ticket.. I'm sure I will be quite sick.
This calls for extreme utilization of my faith in God. I do believe that God is directly involved, through his son Jesus, in the outcome of history. Knowing and believing that, I anxiously await the outcome of this general election and the fallout afterward. Whatever happens will be exactly what we deserve.
God Bless everyone here on NB.. our country has gone around the bend on a very treacherous road, and I fear that there is a big breach in the road, just ahead.

June 4, 2008 - 09:07 ET by CrashI don't understand the shock & awe behind Joe's disbelief. The MSM has hit the American people over the head with a holy leftist mackerel for years. They're still trying to convince the world that Reagan was an evil, dumb actor - unlike the hollywood of today - when that fails they'll rewrite history to claim him as their own.
Scott McClellan and others like him have backed so far away from the open flame of conservatism that they've been consumed by the vacuum of a broken space station toilet pump. Even the "maverick" is closer to a traditional conservative democrat than a Reagan conservative. The logical progression for the DNC was to elect something they really haven't had before ... a marxist.
P.S. If the youth vote goes to the polls Obama will be the next president. I've never seen people from 18-35 more excited about a political candidate. Nor have I seen more conservatives less excited since Dole or Ford.
The reason......
June 4, 2008 - 09:28 ET by OldSailor88The bright eyed liberal youth can see utopia coming with BHO. Conservatives don't have a candidate in the race.
If BHO wins the election I will request to terminate shore duty and request overseas assignment. Absorbing the taxes I will have to pay will be easier there.

Sad Day
June 4, 2008 - 11:01 ET by iveseenitallThis is a sad day for America. If the communist wins in November it may be too late for the nation to recover. Who is this person, Barry Sotero (a.k.a. Barack Obama)? Why did he change his name? No one really knows him , yet the lambs who follow him can't run to slaughter fast enough. This election may well end in simply a few Marxists gaining riches and power while the many continue to struggle. Worse still, it may end in a government dictatorship which eliminates individual freedom---the ultimate end of communism. Did you notice how the few denied Hillary the nomination? We may well be witnessing the last free election in our lifetime. A Democratic Congress can simply set the "rules" and stack the deck as they did in this primary. And Provda (MSM) will run interference for them. I predict that one of the first things a Democratic Congress under Barry will do is attempt to close down opposing points of view. The "fairness" doctrine will prevail to the detriment of all Americans. Enjoy expressing your opinios here on NB while you still can without serious consequences. Spread the word, please.
Who is Barry Sotero?
NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal'
It reminds me of the past
June 4, 2008 - 10:05 ET by ThatDudeIt reminds me of the past two presidential elections. Anybody else remember the "vote or die" MTV campaign? I've been disgusted by how the media so strongly encouraged young uninformed voters to vote...who? Why the democrats, of course! Unfortunately the kids eat that crap up. I only know 2 other people my age who are conservatives. The rest unthinkingly will spit off the liberal agenda any time you open such discussion. It's kinda funny to be such a minority. It's funny to be discriminated against any time I mention that I'm conservative and unapologetic over helping to vote Bush into office(given the options, I'd certainly do it again.)
Anyhow, back to the point. The upper level education institute coupled with the media have done the dirty work for the democrats. Aside from a small minority who are inevitably shouted over, that 18-35 group is giddy with anticipation to vote Obama.
A statement about race
June 4, 2008 - 10:05 ET by KC MulvilleHappy to hear that the Scarboroughs are doing better. Prayers for the family.
I think we need to reflect on the idea that electing Obama is a watershed statement about the races in America. Think of what that statement implies. It implies a liberal article of faith, namely, that white Americans have been too immature or racist to tolerate being governed by minorities. Obama’s election would be a sufficient proof that we have matured, and we need to prove our maturity to the rest of the world. I reject that premise, utterly, for three distinct reasons.
America has not been reluctant to elect a minority. Republicans were perfectly ready to elect Colin Powell, had he been willing to pursue the job. Instead, the problem has been that for the last few decades, minorities have been treated as political property by the Democrats, and most minority candidates reflected a liberalism that most Americans reject. Minorities never got out of the starting gates because of their liberalism, not their race or demographic.
Candidates pursue the presidency as a heroic, personal quest, and that to be elected is a glorious personal affirmation of their character. The news media loves that kind of psycho-drama, where the victor is the American Idol for those who can’t sing. But elections aren’t personal referendums about individuals. No soldier ever gave his life so we could "affirm" some political prima donna. The right to vote is the right to express the voter’s desires, not the candidates. Elections are about what the voters want to do, not about the candidates.
Lastly, but to me the most important reason, is that if you elect Obama to make a statement about race relations, Obama won’t owe you anything after January 20, 2009. After that, he will have no promises to be held accountable for. In effect, he will be accountable only for a single day, and then we’ll have to endure four years of the mischief that comes from a radical leftist ideology like his.
Elections are about the future, not the past. Do you really want to elect a president for the sake of the first day, or for a full four years? Do you want your sacred right to vote to be about Obama’s blackness, or should it be about what you want for you and your family?

June 4, 2008 - 10:24 ET by motherbeltFirst of all, glad you're back Joe! Mika has had no adult supervision.
Because you chose not to listen to your doubts or your fears, but to your greatest hopes, and highest aspirations
Oh good grief!
I told you he took that "Messiah" stuff seriously!
Candidates for President, by nature, have big egos, but this is arrogance on stilts!
Joe S.
June 4, 2008 - 11:05 ET by DaieJoe better watch out! He may be looking for a job soon if he doesn't get with the 'Obama is the messiah' train soon.
A lot of people on here say that won't vote for McCain. That's fine but when Obama gets into office and destroys this country then I don't want to here those same people complaining. I realize that McCain isn't a conservatives dream but given the alternative...I am voting for McCain!! Maybe I see things differently because I am married to a submariner. If nothing else I know McCain will support the military. It scares me to think of what will happen to the military...especially the building and upkeeping of submarines if Obama is elected.
I don't mean to offend anyone who doesn't see things the way I do. I just worry about how things will be for my husband if Obama is elected.
Joe
June 4, 2008 - 10:53 ET by okiehawk44Joe, glad to have you back even though I still don't know why you couldn't have gone to the local NBC affiliate station near your home here in Florida and joined the morning broadcast from that studio like is done every day. More to it? Hope the Mrs. is doing well and your OK and now let's get on with:
1. Why America can't use its own resources (oil/coal) to lessen dependence on unstable regimes worldwide.
2. Who is Barack Hussein Obama and who are his lifetime of close friends, confidants and advisors?
3. Why are almost all recent events (mortgage collapse, oil price increases of almost 100% in months) happening in what appears to be warp speed?
Let's forget the blond one(s) Mika & Chris for awhile and concentrate on some real issues.
I was sure glad to see Joe S
June 4, 2008 - 15:58 ET by marpelI was sure glad to see Joe S back in "rare" form. I thought that Morning Joe w/o Morning Joe was getting just too too liberal. I couldn't bare to watch it anymore. As for Hillary, I was glad she didn't drop out last night. I think she should stay on until the convention. Just my opinion.
Promised Land!
June 5, 2008 - 07:37 ET by RedphillyDo you know it has been 40 years since Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed? (1968-2008). Do you remember his promised land speech? Of course you do. Let me show you the correlation between the Jews and us. The Jews were in the wilderness for 40 years. Read Exodus. Have we been in the wilderness for 40 years since MLK was killed? I'd say so. He said he went to the mountaintop looked over and saw the promised land but said he might not get there with us. God told him he was going to die and to give this speech to us. When he looked over that mountaintop he spoke about, God allowed him to see Barack Obama as president of the USA. If you watch the speech you see him fall back into his chair with a thud as if being supernaturally pushed back. He was told not to mention Obama's name in the speech because Obama's life would be in danger. He would never have reached adulthood.
Moses saw the promised land also but God told him he could not go in either. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a modern day prophet. God said His sons and daughters will prophesy. When Barack Obama wins, MLK's dream will have been fulfilled. MLK knew certain "secret" things only God could tell him. Read or listen to the speech again. Listen to the March on Washington speech, also. It talks about all people joining together to make a more perfect world. The two speeches tie in together. The words he spoke were not just the preachings of a preacher. THEY WERE PROPHECY! They are very prophetic. The initials of his name are "MLK...Milk". The Land of Milk and Honey! It is mentioned in Exodus. Not a coincidence. Prophecy. The I Have a Dream speech was on August 28th. The Democratic National Convention ends on August 28th. Coincidence? No. Prophecy. MLK's name was Michael before his father changed it to honor Martin Luther. Michelle is the feminine version of Michael. Obama's wife's name is Michelle. Martin Luther King, Jr. was said to be bi-sexual, hence the feminine version of the name.
The mountaintop or hill (Hillary) that Moses had to "look over" to see the promised land. Satan is the God of the Air (ary). West Virginia is called the Mountain State. This means that Obama has to "look over" her to get the nomination. Her name is Rodham. A rod is a stick used for punishment. Ham, Noah's Black son (Obama). Is she punishing Obama? He would say so. But a rod can also be used as a comfort, (Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me). It is up to her.
The "burning bush" is mentioned in Exodus. It says that God called out to Moses out of the "midst" or "middle" of the burning bush. Doesn't Bush burn you up? It means that after Bush, then Obama. This is why there had to be a person named "Bush" in the White House. God is all about names and numbers...and order.
As for John McCain. Cain. I don’t know. Maybe Obama should beef up his security! Not to worry. God has a hedge around him.
And last but not least, the nomination is in remembrance of Emmett Till. A little black boy from Chicago who was beaten to death also on August 28th for the harmless act of whistling at a Caucasian woman. This is why Obama has beaten a Caucasian woman. Barack Obama now lives in Chicago, Illinois. Coincidence? No prophecy.
Obama’s mother’s maiden name is Dunham. The woman who accused Emmett of whistling at her’s name is now Donham. The name Clinton. DeWitt Clinton was a statesman who lost a bid for president.
All of the above has been delivered to me by God. I too am one of His daughters who prophesy. Tell every Black person you know and every Caucasian person who is fair-minded to vote for Obama. I believe God is about to bless us. Royally!!!
