As NewsBuster Noel Sheppard has noted, the New York Post, in the course of reporting today that Olbermann has been "lashing out" at his network's talking heads, stated that Olbermann's "feuding with 'Hardball' host Chris Matthews is nothing new."
So on this evening's Hardball, how does Matthews promote tomorrow night's primary coverage that he will be co-anchoring with Olbermann?
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Remember, tomorrow night with Keith Olbermann, we're going to be working together for complete coverage of the Oregon and Kentucky primaries. As I said, for me it's Christmas morning. I don't know how it feels to Keith.
Looks like Olbermann's got the whip hand at MSNBC. It's—almost—enough to make me feel sorry for Matthews.
Note: in a similar promo earlier in the show, Matthews spoke of his Christmas-like excitement about primary night without mentioning Olbermann. But Matthews clearly seemed here to be counting his forthcoming collaboration with Olbermann as an additional cause for anticipation. Otherwise, his question "I don't know how it feels to Keith," would have to be interpreted as wondering whether Olbermann looks forward not to working with Chris, but to covering the primary results, which would be an insult to an on-air personality.

Where is O'Reilly?
May 19, 2008 - 20:48 ET by harry flashmanO'Reilly has been off The Factor for 4 or 5 days now and rumour has it that the brass of Fox and NBC (via GE) are trying to settle the feud started by between Herr Oberlieutenant Olbermann.
Seems Herr Immelt et al are feeling the heat from Fox's immense audience and Obie-wan-Libobie's overy whiney audience.
So, donde esta es Guillermo?
Is Chris flirting again?
May 19, 2008 - 21:46 ET by zachlindSometime back Chris made a comment about something running up his leg and feeling good when he talked about Mr. Obama. Now he’s saying that Keith O. is like Christmas. I thought Chris only hit on the girls?
Why isn't there more
May 19, 2008 - 23:34 ET by lumpywritten about the fact that Keith O and Matthews are allowed to sit on debates and primary news panels with the likes of Russert and Williams? O'Reilly is at least kept confined to his pundit's desk by Fox. NBC seems to be blithely ignoring the line between punditry and reportage and no one in the media comments about it. They're cheapening the NBC journalism brand but apparently the top brass don't give a hoot.

There's nothing left of the brand to cheapen...Tom Brokaw took care of that years ago.

Matthews is another lunatic
May 20, 2008 - 10:32 ET by marpelMatthews is another lunatic sitting to the side of the biggest nutcase of all. And they have SH** running up and down the legs, etc. I'm sorry, but this is so surreal to me... These aren't journalists, these are side show clowns.
Derangement Syndrome
May 20, 2008 - 12:06 ET by CellaMatthews has gone over the edge. Is he wondering, "Keith, was it as good for you as it was for me?"
Last week Chrissy said that his numbers have really gone up since he had that exchange with the guy who didn't know the facts about appeasement. This braggart windbag just doesn't get it. Nobody watches his show, no matter what he does.
The coupling of Chissy and Keith has created another zoo at MSNBC. Why haven't Williams and Russert rebelled about having to share the election coverage with these two?
