Hillary Raises Race, Religion in Call To Seat FL, MI Delegates

On its face, Hillary's email to supporters that just arrived in my inbox is a call to the highest civic values. In support of her demand to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida, Hillary righteously writes [emphasis added]:

No matter where you were born or how much money you were born into, no matter the color of your skin or where you worship, your vote deserves to count.

But let's consider this a bit more closely. Has anyone previously suggested that the reluctance to seat the delegates from Florida or Michigan has anything whatsoever to do with the race or religion of voters there? Can Hillary allege with a straight face that this is some nefarious plot against voters of a certain hue or denomination? Of course not. We all understand what this is about. Obama doesn't want to seat the delegates because it would help Hillary in the delegate and popular vote count. And the DNC is reluctant to do so because the two states flouted party rules in moving up the dates of their primaries.

Note also Hillary's specific formulation. She could have simply written "your religion" but instead opted for "where you worship."

Hmm. So why would Hillary drag "the color of your skin" into this, and why is she calling on us to consider where certain people worship? Just wondering.

Bogus Balboa Bonus Coverage: Hillary Says I Never "Get" Up

Reader J.S. passes along the video of Hillary's strained attempt, while in Pennsylvania, to compare herself to Rock. He points out that, in laboriously reading from her notes, Hillary mistakenly says "I never get up" instead of "give up"!

Forget color - -Mich and Florida HAVE to be seated -OR-

The Dems will lose those states in the General election to the Republicans, via a backlash of pissed off voters.  They "Flouted" rules ?

What Harm did the move of the primary in Fl. and Mich. do to the Democratic party ?  Compared to the harm the Dis-enfranchised voters are going to do if they don't get to attend the convention.

The last sentence in Hillary's flier is "Your vote deserves to count" . . . and I don't see a way around that one for the Dems in the Convention . . . Don't seat the states, then Don't count on them being BLUE states at election time.

Only Hillary stepping aside shows promise for saving the Dems from themselves.  Hillary has to concede before the convention, because Mich. and Fl. ARE going to be SEATED . . .or else.

A political party has a

A political party has a strong interest in enforcing its rules. This time it was FL and MI. Next time, other states might try to jump in front of Iowa and New Hampshire and really upset the calendar. Be that as it may, it's one thing for Hillary to raise the issue of respecting the vote. But why did she drag race or religion into it? Does this have anything to do with the controversy? Has anyone suggested that the race or religion of FL or MI voters has anything to do with the decision about seating their delegates? It's hard for me to see this as other than an attempt for Hillary to stir the racial/ Rev. Wright pots.

I'm *from* Florida

And if you take the whole state together, I'm wondering what race or religion we are!!??! My Democrat friends -- who may not be normal Democrats, since they do tolerate me -- are annoyed at the state party over this flap, but they've accepted the idea that some/all FL delegates won't be seated.

Point sarcasmo

Excellent point---but at this rate hillery will have to interject anything negative to get a soundbite...However, the world is catching on to her slight of hand and fractured experience with the truth.
I live in Colorado and since we are not important either--I wonder what race or religion we are?

It's still a Severe Penalty, for a rules infraction -

Not seating ANY delegates, cuts across Race, Religious, Female-Male-Gay, Cuban and Canadian boundaries.  Its 100% descrimination.

So Hillary is on safe ground, playing the Race/religious card, or just about any card she wants to play. . . without penalty...in fact, any news attention to the Fl/Mich vote omission is bad for the Dems, and good for Hillary.

Sometimes other states get pissed off at the Iowa tradition, and other states want to play in the Sandbox also.

The Dems better get a Grip on this issue, Dis-enfranchised voters is Jesse Jackson's favorite word, and if the Dems stiff Fl and Mich., they have to forget about saying the "Dis-enfranchised Voters" phrase for at least a year, until this is forgotten.

JT... Let' see about two

JT...

Let' see about two hours ago on some show I heard Fla. and Mich. are going to be seated...according to Howard Dean...the Boy Wonder of the DNC...the problem is they won't count....they'll just be seated at the convention...    but wait a minute....he went on with some other blather a few seconds later...we'll Let me spin this, I'd better, bcause I told one side this, the other said that, it is recorded...Oh wait a minute...it may matter how they are seated and if any count...blah blah blah...most of the sound bites I saw never included his furthermore statement...that added up to same beginning....

WE (meaning the dems) are in a MESS (which only we leftist could have created to begin with) and we don't have it solved...but it is coming back to bite us in the arse now...

BR - -and the Deception of "Seating" without voting

The Seating of the Fl. Mi. delegates is a deception, that will be revealed when the Floor vote takes place, and nobody calls upon the "Seated" delegates to cast their votes.

That is going to play UGLY back home in Fl. and Mi., you can't sugar coat that one . . ." Delegate, Please have a Seat, Now shut up !"

Hillary Rodham Clinton: "No

Hillary Rodham Clinton: "No matter where you were born or how much money you were born into, no matter the color of your skin or where you worship, your vote deserves to count."

Nice how she slipped that clause in there.  Somebody hand me the barf bag.  I can just hear her fingernail-scratching-the-blackboard voice issuing this crap via bullhorn (like she needs one...).  Somebody stop it!

On a side note, kudos to Mark for enduring this not-so-hillarious nonsense in his inbox -- I wouldn't have the stomach for it.

Hillary as Rocky

Jay Leno had a great line the other night.  I can't find a clip, but the sense of it was that if he remembered correctly, Rocky lost, and he got beaten by a black guy.
