Today, Hillary Clinton made the rounds of all the morning network news shows. The toughest questioning by far came from Roberts, in this exchange.
ROBIN ROBERTS: What do you think the negative ad factor, how did that help you in this race? Because leading up, you did have some negative attack ads, and can we expect to see more of that in the days and weeks ahead? As you might imagine, Hillary wasn't buying Roberts' premise.
HILLARY CLINTON: Well, I don't accept that. You know, this campaign has been incredibly civil. Obviously Senator Obama has sent a lot of negative information through the mails about me and I called him on it.
Way to play the victim card, Hillary. But don't look for Robin to back down in those "days and weeks ahead." Expect Roberts to be fighting for her guy to the finish.
Aside: What this country needs are some good positive attack ads ;-)

Fox v ABC
March 5, 2008 - 09:01 ET by allanfFunny for all the caterwalling about FOX by the Democrats, Hillary Clinton was treated far more respectfully on Fox and Friends this morning.

March 5, 2008 - 09:07 ET by Mark FinkelsteinI find Robin likable, but of all the morning news anchors, I see her as the most openly in the tank for a particular candidate.

March 5, 2008 - 09:07 ET by motherbeltI'm sorry, but I don't see anything wrong with "negative" ads, as long as they are truthful. Without pointing out the opponent's shortcomings, or his/her history (whether of deeds or of promises unkept), campaigns become nothing more than competing laundry lists of promised goodies.
negative ads
March 5, 2008 - 09:09 ET by AgnosticThe problem with negative ads is that it takes away from the media what they believe is their role in higlighting the candidates weaknesses or hiding them, whichever the case may be.
we need to ask the real questions
March 5, 2008 - 09:49 ET by docbGood for Robin...Hillery won dirty by snide innuendo and scare tactics and willingness to split the party. She even endorsed McCain over Obama.[ i have 35 yrs experience/ McCain has a lifetime of experience and Obama has a couple of speeches]..I hate to see this going on but it will give the voter a chance to remember all the slime that is the clinton machine and all the fatigue of the scandalous clinton years.
How bout she tell us 5 examples of a red phone moment or what she has done to effectively change anything. What is the experience gleened from sitting on a plane or pouring tea...
30 Generals and Admirals
March 5, 2008 - 10:47 ET by SuperglydeOkay, I've lurked far too long.
Just who are these "Generals and Admirals" that support her? The couple ones I know of weren't the Army's best in my experience of dealing with them. Anybody have a complete list of them and just what kind of Generals they were?
Well, welcome,

You had better cry a river on Obama's shirt sleeve.

Negative ads work. Like the "Bradley effect" that was talked about earlier, people say they don't like them and they're not swayed by them, but they work.
With all the polling and research that the campaigns do, if they found that they weren't working, or were backfiring, they would stop them.
They continue because they work.
