The worm has certainly turned when Bill Clinton's former press secretary goes on a local TV show, calls Hillary a b---- in so many words . . . and a national news show then chooses to air the footage. It happened on today's Good Morning America in the course of a conversation that co-anchor Robin Roberts conducted with Cokie Roberts and Matt Dowd.
ROBIN ROBERTS: Many are wondering how far she can go in attacking Barack Obama. Even President Clinton's former press secretary Dee Dee Myers made a comment about it being harder for a woman to walk that fine line. This is what she said.
Cut to clip of Myers in a recent appearance on NY1, the NYC cable news channel.
DEE DEE MYERS: I think so many women in positions of authority -- and she's certainly one of them -- have to walk that fine line between being authoratative and being a bitch [worded bleeped during GMA airing]. And she you know, she hasn't always succeeded. I think it's hard for a woman to succeed.

Ouch. This from a Myers on a book tour for her Why Women Should Rule the World. Sounds as if Hillary's one woman ruler Dee Dee could do without. Of course no one forced ABC to air the clip. Not hard to imagine that Roberts, who recently gave a famously friendly interview to Obama, might have been behind the decision.

Opression and Victimhood
February 26, 2008 - 09:00 ET by ThisnThat"I think it's hard for a woman to succeed." Yep, and it's always the fault of the evil White Male. Women are always portrayed as the victim in every situation when they fail.
I think what Dee Dee really means is: It's hard for any unqualified Demcratic woman to be successful, so why can't they automatically be given a break no matter what? Hillary isn't qualified. She has done nothing. If Dee Dee wants a qualified and successful woman, she ought to be looking at Condoleza. But she won't, because in Dee Dee's mind, Rice is automatically disqualified by the big "R" next to her name.
Stop whining Dee Dee and all you other feminists out there. We select people based upon ability, and because we do, we're not sexist or racist. Get over it.

she makes a point
February 26, 2008 - 09:06 ET by theduck6a weak one, but a point none the less. We just call males who act like Hill a**holes.
There is a subliminal standard we judge women by but men have the same in reverse. Can you imagine a man who is a softie whining cry baby being elected... Who? Harry Reid? ...nevermind!

February 26, 2008 - 09:11 ET by PeskyDaneI remember when I first saw this bumbler, back in 1992. Clearly in over her head in the Whitehouse briefing room. The thought I could not get past regarding her was: "You took 'Dee-dee' into your thirties."
Poor Dee Dee
February 26, 2008 - 09:41 ET by BayshoremanPoor Dee Dee, she can't tell the difference between a fine line and a super-highway. I never recall anyone calling Margaret Thatcher, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Mother Theresa, Ann Richards, Olympia Snowe, and a host of other accomplished and successful women the “B” word.
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “bitch” in part as a malicious, spiteful, or overbearing woman —sometimes used as a generalized term of abuse. Hence, just describe Hillary based solely on her behavior, she’s a “B”, success or lack there of has nothing to do with it.
I never recall anyone
February 26, 2008 - 09:51 ET by Jack BauerActually that's untrue. In Britain, the socialists and their commie pals spent 15 years calling Margaret Thatcher EXCATLY that -- and that was mild.

February 26, 2008 - 11:21 ET by BayshoremanI don't doubt you JB (and I'm sure the Argentinans had a few choice words for her) but as far as I remember, she was never preceived as such on this side of the pond.

state is b*tchy;
She can try to act civilized, or pleasant, but
her personality is about as unlikable as is humanly
possible.
The women in my life absolutely can't stand her:
Their dislike dwarfs my own, I just think she's a dope.
And Dems, now even Dem women, flew away from her
at the first site of a fresh face, what else needs to be said?
If she becomes President, it will be 4 years

A COUPLE OF THINGS...
February 26, 2008 - 10:24 ET by danybhoyMaybe it's just me, but I like DeeDee Myers, say what you will, I like her.
The reason Hillary hasn't succeeded at not being a bitch is because, well...she usually is a bitch. She cannot hide it, & it is why she is not well liked. Now it's biting her in the @$$. The fact that Obama is winning the nomination with the people is a rejection of Hillary, her tactics, her lack of personality, & her lack of self respect. She was willing to look past everything Bill did for 1 reason, to be President.
Now, she is falling short, & this rejection of her by primary voters is also a personal rejection of Hillary. Her life has been about power, not about being Mrs.Clinton, being Mrs.Clinton became her path to power, & now it's close to being over. This is a good thing.

February 26, 2008 - 12:10 ET by Lame CherryI was astonished to see Dee Dee Myers on PBS last night and now is making the rounds to network television.
For her to be dusted off to remind Hillary is a bitch.......apparently the racists in the Democratic party are just not giving this to Obama.
Polls show Hillary will win Ohio and Texas as those are racist states like New Hampshire. She is auditioning for the Supreme Court and Dee Dee apparently is auditioning for White House bartender.
