Tucker Carlson, on his MSNBC show this evening, describing the Clinton campaign's press relations . . .
TUCKER CARLSON: They're awful to the media: let's be totally blunt. They're awful to the press. They treat the press like enemies. [Clinton Communication Director] Howard Wolfson's always calling around threatening people. Threatening people! News organizations! They do that! People hate you if you do that. I mean, they've earned the enmity of the press, in my view. They have. I mean, it's been hard but they've done it.

The affable Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post tried to defuse matters, to no avail . . .
EUGENE ROBINSON: They're not the warmest and cuddliest campaign. You know, the Obama campaign has had no history --
Clinton backer Hilary Rosen cut in to chastise Carlson.
HILARY ROSEN: Well that's a grown-up thing, Tucker.
Carslon wasn't to be mollified . . .
CARLSON: Well I don't know. They're the ones who ought to grow up. You report on them, and then they call and threaten you and flip out and lie to you. I mean, all campaigns do that, Republican and Democrat -- everybody does that. But they do it to a greater extent.
ROSEN: No campaign is immune.
CARLSON: I agree, they all do it. McCain, everybody does it. But she does it more; their campaign does it more. And I'm not just saying that for political reasons. I think you ask any garden-variety liberal Democrat reporter -- and they're all liberal Democrats -- and they'll say the same thing. I really believe that.

Great catch with this segment...I only have a few minutes for now...but let me tell you what I think...I could not believe Tucker did what he did on that segment laying it on the line about the control the Clintons have had on the msm for years, more than a decade now on them all...he spoke the truth and to do that on msnbc like he did tonight he was taking a a big chance, or he doesn't care or the there is stuff going on behind the scenes we may not know about and he doesn't give a flyin fig...but he spoke the truth about the power the Clintons have had and do no longer.
I wonder just how long his job is going to last...I can't help it.
Maybe hope does spring eternal...in the case of msnbc I think not...nevertheless...
Good Job Tucker.

February 26, 2008 - 00:10 ET by Uncle PinkyTucker has a habit of speaking truths when upset. I like the guy. He should be much harder on Sharpton than he is, and he persistently pronounces "rather" as "ray-ther"; but to watch him call the CAIR folks on the carpet or smack the "objective" guests with a few home truths puts him near Hume in watchability.
Just wish he weren't on that network. Were I to TiVo him, the others there might get undeserved and unwarranted hits.

Even their media relations people are condescending and smug. No wonder everyone hates the Clintons.

I'VE SAID THIS BEFORE...
February 26, 2008 - 10:07 ET by danybhoyJim Quinn (Quinn & Rose) is a Pittsburgh morning drive guy I listen to on XM-158, & he said something a couple of months back that looks like it might be happening. He wondered if the MSM would throw Clinton Inc overboard if they could get to the same place with Obama? Everyone knows the MSM want the liberal agenda that both Hillary or Obama would push, but if they can get it without being treated like crap, they might do it. This report about Wolfson would contribute to this if true.

Tucker Carlson
February 26, 2008 - 11:03 ET by CellaTucker is appointment viewing for me. This candid frank young journalist keeps his show provocative.
There was a scare about the possible demise of his show several months ago. (Viewers are aware that MSNBC has Rachel Maddow waiting in the wings.)
Fans mounted a noisy campaign and that rumor seemed to fade.
Tucker's numbers are up. And it is "a good thing" everytime he is mentioned on NewsBusters.
