Decline HillaryCare? Suffer An 'Outcome'

You vill obey update . . .

The domestic policy differences between Hillary and Obama are negligible. But the Clinton camp likes to claim that his national health care plan would leave 15 million people out, whereas hers covers everyone. Let's put aside for the moment the fact that former Clinton cabinet member Robert Reich says the Obama plan would actually wind up covering more people. The key to Hillary's claim that she would cover everyone is that . . . she would punish people who refuse to fall in line.

Naturally, Clinton isn't eager to specify just what such punishment would be. But under intense questioning by Tucker Carlson on his MSNBC show this evening, senior Clinton advisor Kiki McLean employed an Orwellian euphemism. People who didn't comply wouldn't be punished. They'd simply incur an . . . "outcome."

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

TUCKER CARLSON: If you're going to mandate health insurance, what if people don't, don't obey? And she has said "we're going to garnish wages." Which wages, and how much? Cause she's the substance candidate.

KIKI MCLEAN: She is the substance candidate, and she's looking at the options. She's also said, Senator Obama's team has tried to put out an attack saying she's going to force people who can't afford it to pay for it themselves and that's just not true.

CARLSON: But she's said herself, she's said herself, that she'd be willing to garnish wages. I think that's pretty much exactly what she said.

MCLEAN: She said in one interview that's something to look at. I think the reality is that she's also focusing on bringing everybody -- here's the thing about universal coverage --

CARLSON: Is that an answer to the question? I mean, the question is --

MCLEAN: Well, I think the penalties are you focus on the people that don't have it. What are the routes to bring them into the process, and she answered a question at one point, saying that there are a couple of things to look at. And you know what? I'll come back to you and I'll follow up --

CARLSON: If she's running as the candidate who's thought it through, who has a plan -- I think the phrase is "on day one" -- then you really do get down to the nuts and bolts, which are, how are you going to punish the recalcitrant people who don't want to go along with her master plan?

MCLEAN: Here's the other part of the plan, Tucker. And that is what she said very clearly in a debate, and that is, if you want universal coverage, you gotta to start at the very beginning with that being the goal: to get everybody in the process, getting everybody covered, and that's the difference. Barack Obama doesn't even begin that.

CARLSON: She's soft-selling the stick. She's selling the carrot; she's not talking about the stick, the punishment for not going along with her vision of the Brave New World.

MCLEAN: The reality is, that we're going to have to bring everybody into the plan, and there's going to have to be --

CARLSON: Punishment.

MCLEAN: Outcomes. There's going to have to be an outcome for people who don't participate because it all affects us. Remember, we are a community that lives here.

CARLSON [bursting into laughter]: I love that: an "outcome"!

MCLEAN: There has to be an outcome.

CARLSON: Is that what you call it when you spank a child: this is the "outcome"?

MCLEAN: I don't spank my children.

Fine. But the question was: what would Hillary do?  And McLean's evasiveness notwithstanding, we clearly we have our answer.

"I voted for Hillary and all I got was a spanking."

Great questions from Tucker.

Great questions from Tucker. Now if only someone in the media would actually ask Hillary these questions, instead of one of her flunkies.

Where do you think the

Where do you think the flunky learned how to (not) answer questions? Do you think Her Royal Clintoness would be less disingenuous?

A minute and 45 seconds...an eternity in a verbal exchange, and she did not answer the question. At one point she actually said that HRC had answered the question, but didn't say what the answer was. What a flaming tap dance!

Negative patient care outcome

that results in an undertaking is the 'outcome' they're talikng about.

If you lose your right to

If you lose your right to say "no", are you really free?

I guess the only "choice" we will have under the lefties is the choice to kill our unborn children.

Mommy fascism is where they take things away from you "for your own good".

If you lose your right to

If you lose your right to say "no", are you really free?

Good point. Freedom of choice (and the right to self-determination) includes the right to make stupid choices. But liberals believe that if someone makes a stupid decision, it's because they don't know any better, and it's up to the liberals to do it for them.

Resistance is futile. We will be assimilated. All of us.

One way or the other, "Universal Health Care," or, as I like to call it, Hillary Care II, the Final Twisting of the Knife, is, sadly inevitable.

:-O

Smile. It is not the end of the world.

Don't worry too much about

Don't worry too much about Hillarys plan, she won't win the WH.

All we need to do

..... is look to Massachusetts, home of "Commonwealth Care" aka RomneyCare, to see what "outcomes" are:

For Massachusetts residents deemed able to afford health care, but refuse, that means facing new monthly fines that could total as much as $912 for individuals and $1,824 for couples by the end of the year.

To be clear, because the text isn't, that's fines of $76 and $152 per month. The state will normally "collect" the fines when you file your tax return, but is also able to exercise other means if necessary.

This shocking level of coercion was brought to the citizens of MA by Mitt Romney while he was governor. Y'know, the "conservative" fave of Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity and other talkers and pundits.

If I didn't read/hear what these supposed opinion leaders wrote/said myself, I would have thought it was all a leftist dirty trick. Nope. These people were actively backing a guy who had put into place what they had spent the last 15-16 railing against -- socialized medicine. Anybody But McCain, no matter how truly liberal the alternative. Unbelievable -- and disgraceful.

Thank you Tom... I never

Thank you Tom...

I never did understand why people thought Mitt was a conservative. I have NEVER met a conservative that liked mandates.

fined, but after the fact?

My understanding was that a fine would be imposed on a person, who was financially able to afford insurance, but had elected not to purchase it and later received free healthcare at the local hospital, e.g. - But only AFTER the person had received the free healthcare. So, buying the healthcare was optional, but that person would be fined if he actually needed the free healthcare.

If someone has more details, please elaborate. I readily admit that I do not know the details.

I would be surprised....

if you're right, but would welcome learning it.

My understanding is that when you fill out your income tax return, if it shows that you make "too much" to justify not having health insurance, the tax form design forces you to own up to not having it (presumably checked against a Commonwealth Care database and/or a list of employers providing coverage to see if you're lying), and then to owing one of the two penalties noted above.

ouch

Ouch, and I do mean ouch. That sounds like another tax on the middle class.

I'm starting to think the

I'm starting to think the only universal coverage we need are lawyers.  Everyone in power seems to have a few on retainer except for most of the middle class.

Just thinking out loud.  I think this related to the thread, but others might not see it.

Hitlery

"Well, I think the penalties are you focus on the people that don't have it."

Hitlery should take the advice she gave a young lady who was displaced from her job because of Hillary's health care impacts. "You look like a bright lady. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a new job."

Hillary may be on to

Hillary may be on to something when she suggests that MSNBC isn't giving her campaign a "fair shake".  First, David Shuster likens her daughter to a prostitute, then Tucker Carlson interviews this idiot.  Can't a Clinton get a break on MSNBC?

Bravo, Tucker!

I am so very impressed with Tucker's insistent questioning, finally someone is asking questions!  Let's hear Couric do this at CBS now!

Kiki is showing us the character of what the HRC administration would look like.  Obfuscate, confuse, disguise, conceal, complicate and never answer the question.  Hey, Hillary, you brought it up now finish the sentence!!!  You want to foist this upon the American public and we don't want it.  I would never hire you to be my kid's nanny so why would we hire you to be our national nanny.

What scares me most, and it did back in the ninties with "Goals 2000" is that this facist is after our CHILDREN.  They already hit daycares by providing state pre-k for free (at tax-payer expense).  They want the whole ball of wax now!  Are people so stupid that they can't see how unAmerican this whole thing is?

This should be a signal to every conservative that we better come out in force and vote for McCain.  He will protect our country in more ways than one, militarily and there isn't going to be a McCain national health care scam.  So what if we don't agree with all his positions?  He's light years ahead of the game when standing next to the ice queen and B. Hussein Obama.

A nation that cannot secure its borders is not a nation.” Ronald Reagan

True, but we will have to

True, but we will have to fight tooth and nail with him when the amnesty bill and/or the global warming bill comes up if he is in office.

Really the only thing he disagrees with the Democrats on is the war, abortion, and universal healthcare. However, Glenn Beck made the excellent point that if McCain is trying to fight global warming, want's illegals to become legal, and wants to shut down Guantanamo, then we won't have the means or the money to fight the war.

Which in essence would mean that he only disagrees with the Democrats on abortion and universal healthcare. If any of them become president we have a good chance of becoming like Russia in the late 90s (broke and not going anywhere).

This is why regardless of who is on the ballot for president, we need to go out and vote to at least get the legislative branch filled with the people we agree with.

The "thinking out" lasted maybe 10 minutes

The wealthy, who are most of those they are talking about, can afford not to have health insurance and simply pay for the services themselves as they occur. The vast majoriy of health "insurance" is really pre-paid medical service that has to be pre-approved by the company you've been paying. So "garnishing" the wages of the wealthy is not going to work, because they usually have the option of restructuring their "compensation" to minimize if not eliminate their wages in lieu of other methods.

As usual, the liberal plan leaves the poor and working class no choice and allows the wealthy to have all the options. This is probably by design, because the liberal plans can never eliminate the class warefare aspect of their whole philosophy.

It's amazing, because without the income tax, the government would have no way of knowing who is making what and spending it on what and therefore would have no choice but to treat all people equally as the 14th amendment demands.

The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic. Let's get it back! Alan Keyes '08.

Tucker Carlson's Questions

I have been banging my spoon on my high chair for months, trying to get more and more people to notice Tucker Carlson.

These types of exchanges go on during his show everyday.

He is irrepressible.

An Outcome

Nice dodge, McLean!

An outcome.... Maranatha!
