Did Hillary Clinton really claim to be "blessed" and "grateful" to have a "passionate" husband? Yes.
Freudian slip or part of a calculated strategy to curry the women's vote by reminding people of the indignities she's suffered at the hands of her wayward spouse? In any case, Hillary deployed the intriguing double-entendre to defend Bill's recent attacks on Barack Obama.

Morning Joe played the clip, which presumably came from Hillary's appearance yesterday in Harlem.
HILLARY CLINTON I think that we both, Senator Obama and I, are blessed to have strong, passionate spouses. And I respect that, I'm grateful for that, and I know Barack is as well.
The alternative meaning of her words were not lost on Hillary or those standing behind her, as you'll note from the way they broke into broad smiles.
Back in the studio, Willie Geist glossed over the double-entendre, focusing only the political aspect: "Look at the smile on her face. Her husband goes out and swings the hatchet."
But the real import was not lost on Mika Brzezinski, who observed: "that was such a loaded comment."

Hillary is "blessed" alright
January 21, 2008 - 15:25 ET by republican_brotherShe better thank god that she has the last name of Clinton. Without that last name, she would be a nobody in politics, and she would also be a nobody in the Democrat primarys. I could be wrong, but the only time I see a picture of Hillary is in a black church.
Um

Well, the guys were probably afraid to go there...
I don't think she meant it as a double-entendre... but with her husband, she needs to be really careful how she phrases things. LOL
And as usual, she overreached. She should stopped at being glad her husband is so supportive, and left Obama out of it.
Good grief! Is she actually equating Bill's antics and Michelle Obama's wifely support? I haven't seen Mrs. Obama out there saying that Hillary Clinton is making up "fairy tales" and complaining about dirty tactics.....
The Clintons never cease to amaze me. Just when I think they can't get any lower, they exceed my expectations.
It is not passion
January 21, 2008 - 13:44 ET by Lame CherryIt is not passion when Hitler is fomenting the masses.
It is not passion when Sitting Bull is stirring up his people to a war they will be slaughtered in.
and it is not passion when Bill Clinton is tackling the toe sucker and raping a nurse in Arkansas.
Those are criminal and psychotic acts. Hillary Clinton needs to learn that Teddy Bundy was not passionate. He was amoral much like she is in not understanding the difference between rage and passion.

Passion.
January 21, 2008 - 13:54 ET by iveseenitallTypical "liberalism". Doesn't matter what you say, as long as you say it with "passion". All the dictators around the world do that. Saddam did that. Hitler certainly did that. And they (the "liberals") say this woman is so smart??? My God--- what ignorance, what a lack of logic, what a stupid thing to say. The woman's a jerk!

The 'twofers' make me so ill with the exception of the put down they are getting by some in their own party..they are nothing but political socialist trash made important only by the leftist/socialists in the msm...
What is going on now is nothing more than a third run by the twofers and should be illegal as far as I am concerned...
On the other hand defeating the pair once and for all is going to be absolutely delicious...(I hope she wins the primary because IMHO Obama is going to be harder to defeat, for numerous reasons)
Agreed, BT
January 21, 2008 - 15:48 ET by iveseenitallAgreed,BT. I,too, "hope" for her nomination. It's going to be fun to see her and Bill squeak and squirm, lie and cheat as they try to get back in the White House. But God help us if they do. Keep up the good fight.
