Barbara Walters: 'Very Depressing' to Agree With O'Reilly

Barbara Walters wanted "The View" audience to understand that she normally disagrees with Bill O'Reilly. But when it came to his views on child-rearing, Walters had to admit that she largely agreed with the Factor host. And that depressed her.

O'Reilly, the father of two young children, appeared on today's View to promote his new book on child-rearing and related issues, Kids Are Americans Too.

BARBARA WALTERS: Well, Bill O'Reilly has a new book, it's called Kids Are Americans Too . . . We always enjoy having Bill with us. We don't always agree but we're always happy to have him on the program.

And a bit later . . .

WALTERS: Listen, I read this book. And what bothers me, cause I very often don't agree with you, I think I agree with almost everything you said, and I find that very depressing. What is happening to me?

BILL O'REILLY [jocularly]: This is a total act. This woman hangs on my every word, Barbara Walters. She's in, she agrees, but you know, she's in that New York society thing. You know what that is, Joy [Behar].

JOY BEHAR: I don't know anything about it.

WALTERS: Pluh-eese!

The fawning bags of The View

If you examine these bags of The View, you will notice there sits old balding O'Reilly and their eyes are bright and they are all smiling. They love being around a real man like O'Reilly who tells them which end is up.

In noting that O'Reilly, should have rolled his eyes and said, "Please Babs don't agree with me on child raising as your life is such a disaster I don't want people thinking you actually implemented my ideas because you do not".

Oh Well

Nice suggestion. But, I don't think anyone could have handled it any better than O'Reilly did. There is a reason why he is number one in cable.

With his answer the girls still had the bright smiling eyes and he made his point.

First Laura...

...gets Babs to agree with her, then Bill.

Watch out these things come in threes, if she agrees with Ann Coulter on something her head will explode.

Amidst all this jocularity,

Amidst all this jocularity, was there any mention of Bill O'Body Language's scathing criticism of O'Donnell or did they just keep her as gone and forgotten?

Good question. Unless I

Good question. Unless I missed it there was nothing Rosie.

That's interesting. Then,

That's interesting. Then, O'Reilly's campaign against O'Donnell hasn't caused hard feelings in the rest of the coven? That says something...

.

How come BOR never does any conservative shows to promote this book? Hannity's America? Glenn Beck? Rush's radio show?

I think it's hypocritical of him to blast the liberal media every night then yuck it up on The View and Jay Leno to sell his books.

Bill quickly disarmed

Bill quickly disarmed Whoopi with the birthday flowers. Good strategic first strike! Joyless was just, well, joyless as usual. I'm always amazed at how tall Bill is compared to these four.

BOR is 6'5"...

I'm suprised they didn't saw the legs off his chair like Letterman does to his guests...

Technically, they all sit

Technically, they all sit on a couch, so no chairs were involved. Besides, all late night talk shows have the guests sit at lower eyesight levels to the hosts, thereby having them look up at the host in a demeaning ego-stroking way.

Just Curious...

Did Bill and "The View's" nattering nabobs of negativism discuss anything other than child-rearing during his appearance?

Like how difficult it is to

Like how difficult it is to rear children while that war-mongering, freedom-suppressing, poverty-inducing George W. Bush is president?

And...

...How can a conservative possibly be right about anything?

Actually

I was wondering if they talked about the show's favorite heroine (or should I say "heroin"?), Mrs. Bill Clinton and her recent shenanigans?

I like the way that snob

I like the way that snob Joy Behar seemed repulsed by BOR. That woman is a card carrying cackling shrew.

It makes one wonder why BOR bothers with this show. (must have something to do with money?).

Don't know about how he

Don't know about how he acted around the crones, but O'Reilly gets downright giddy around Democrat Kristen Powers when she's on his show. He treats the Michelle Malkin replacement like a fifth wheel. These segments have gone down since Ms. Malkin's departure.

However . . .

The Republican woman he's had on lately is really, really cute -- and smart.

She may be cute and she may

She may be cute and she may be smart, but I don't think she brings Malkin's intellect and passion to the discussion.

Dammit! First double post

Dammit! First double post I've done in a long time.

Could-a-fooled me! :-)

Well, I was going to try to

Well, I was going to try to convert the duplicate post into a fan letter to you from one of your groupies, but then I realized I couldn't hide my name and you'd see right through it or it'd be misinterpreted... :)

Yeah I noticed from the

Yeah I noticed from the "Who's Online" that Leon/Hater wasn't on until just a while ago, so it may have actually worked. :-)

Sometimes it sucks to have groupies<sigh>.

It's tough for you, I know.

There, there. It's tough for you, I know. :)

Yes we all have our crosses to bear...

Hillary has Bill.

Obama has Osama.

Sarcasmo has Ron.

MightyMouth has Leon. <shrug>

Hey, where is Leon? Has

Hey, where is Leon? Has your restraining order kicked in? :)

I would comment Chris, but

I would comment Chris, but knowing Mark, I am about one post away from getting this side discussion chopped back about an hour. :-)

Joy finally said something

Joy finally said something I agree with....

....She doesn't know anything...about anything.

Lol

Ditto!I like the way she sits there.Reminds me of a child pouting.

"I like the way that snob

"I like the way that snob Joy Behar seemed repulsed by BOR. That woman is a card carrying cackling shrew."

Yeah, and she wasn't happy at all with Bill being there, as she knew she couldn't push him around with her ignorance like she does with a lot of other guests. One of her responses after he showed her for the fool she is while answering one of her questions was "Just because you talk loud doesn't make you right, Bill", lol. Too funny. The sad part is she used to be an English teacher I think.

"It makes one wonder why BOR bothers with this show. (must have something to do with money?)."

Well, of course it has to do with money. He's trying to reach folks on the other side. They're parents too.

Someone asked a good question earlier though, about why he never goes on conservative shows like Hannity or Rush. Rush I can understand as he is the competition, but Hannity is a different story. Not sure what's going on there, but I get the impression that there is no love lost between those two for some reason. I don't recall Sean defending Bill over his so-called racist comments a few months back.
