Katy Perry Goes Pro-Military in New Music Video
Pop star Katy Perry could teach the liberal media a thing or two about patriotism and appreciation for the U.S. military. For her new music video "Part of Me," the singer embraced her inner, gritty “GI Jane” and trained alongside female Marines to deliver an authentic performance in her new military-inspired video.
Perry’s pro-military video is a breath of fresh air in a lefty media culture that loves to condemn positive Hollywood portrayals of American soldiers as propaganda, recently shown by the liberal media's war against Navy-Seal flick "Act of Valor."
Perry’s new break-up tune features the singer swapping her skinny jeans for a Marine’s combat utility uniform. In a recent interview with MTVPerry said she performed most of her own stunts, and even learned how to flip and carry her fellow trainees.
“This music video, as much as I was sore and exhausted, I was so educated on people in the service who I've always respected, but this time the respect goes beyond and above anything I could've imagined," Perry said. "The stuff that they go through, the loyalties and strengths that they all possess, it seems like they are seriously the heart of America."

It's Katie Perry...do you really think that it's her idea, or her honest beliefs? After seeing her speak off the cuff on TV one time, and knowing that she married that filthy idiot leftist comedian, I don't think she has a brain in her head. Someone scripted this whole thing for her. I'd bet.
But hey, even so I guess I should applaud the effort and the sentiment, no matter who's it was. Our military deserve it, and if it was indeed a true education for her as she says; way to go Katie, please continue to keep your mind open.
remember she divorced that...............

filthy idiot leftist comedian. So she gets some credit for that. As an Old Jarhead, I can say she showed my Fellow Marines to be what they are hard charging patriots that train for the mission they will be given, TO PROTECT and DEFEND the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! So for that Ms Perry. Thank you, and SEMPER FIDELIS!
he divorced her

According to my 17 year old daughte, he divorced her because he was trying to stay off drugs. I think she reads these things in magazines in the dentist waiting room! I'll reserve judgement as I think most of her songs are lacking in values, to put it nicely. I refuse to let my children purchase any of her music.
I heard one or two lines of one of her songs

...Pardon me for being so cynical, but I would agree that this has all been scripted.
It may be that some big wig in hollywood finally started figuring out that conservatives have been alienated for far too long by the liberal media, forgetting that the majority of Americans are indeed conservative. Who would want to cut off that much of a slice out of your potential market?
Katy Perry (or someone managing her career) may be just trying to tap into that huge market niche by finding a way to appease to conservatives while doing the least amount of damage as possible with her liberal friends and fans. How better to do that than to support the military?
I'm still thinking of that stint she did with Elmo on Sesame Street. Good thing SS producers exercised better judgement in not airing the clip.
I wouldn't trust Katy Perry as far as I can throw her.

Oo-rah. Nice to see our WM's get some glory. I know what it takes to make the commitment as a man, I can't image what it would take to make the same commitment as a woman. Semper fi Marines.

...for stirring up publicity for her career. Imho, she is simply getting ahead of the curve in order to leech $$$ off of the blood, sweat, and tears of our heroes.
As presidential campaigners this summer focus on our brave warriors and the plight in which they have been placed by their JugEars-In-Chief, sympathy will rise. Katy is simply placing herself to ride the crest of such a wave.
Her worldview may be opening up, but her philosophical foundations are based in New Age Lib CaliChristianity. Google her parents, who make their living running a 'church' and a 'ministry' based in SoCal and San Francisco. Sterotypical Cali Boomers living and preaching the gospel of The Eternal Teen. Youtube them and get a real head shot of insight.
Hey Kids! Let's not forget the breakout tune chosen by Katy to kill her Gospel music career: (Yep, she began her recording career as a Gospel singer)

She has "issues."
Submitted by CobraMan on Thu, 03/22/2012 - 12:45pm.
It's obvious that she still has some "issues" with her "ex." That "millimeter Peter" sign in the beginning is rather blatant, heh! But I don't understand some of the comments that were posted at Youtube (or here, for that matter). Like the ones claiming that she "disrespects" the Marines. Just how is she disrespecting the Marines in this? She's using them as a symbol of rugged individualism, as a symbol of personal liberty, a symbol of the one thing he can't take away from her: inner strength. Just how is that "disrespectful?"
As a symbol of rugged individualism, as a symbol of personal liberty, you can't get much better than the Marines! Unless, of course, you use the Army! Heh.

But I will reserve my judgement. She seems to be the typical publicity seeking pop-star who will do almost anything to get publicity. And we know that she switched from Christian/Gospel music to pop music because, as she herself said: "that's where all the money is".

neocons love sucking up to the military

The kay Perry ditty isn't so much about patriotism as much as it is about using soldiers as a excuse to embrace this whole lazie-crazie love of war.
"Thank you for your service" is the standard cliche told to anyone uniform. How do they know this guy or gal didn't spend all their "service" in a bar. How sad to fill up ones bladders with booze; getting all touchy feely inside over a Katy Perry tune and not have any dead bodies to urinate on!
War serves the neos' schizoprenic side; the ghoolish side that lusts for killing folks. It's quite convenient to have War Radio's entertainers magically transform children in the middle east into suicide bombers. And of course the TV evangelists swear there is a passage in the Bible about making a parking lot out the lands occupied by Abraham's decendants.
What ever happened to Jesus and "blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the children of God?" Not cool enough lyrics to sing in a Karaoke bar?
War lovers that control our foreign policy are wrong for America but the neocons' fans are too stupid to know it.
Songs written to tell it like it is.
The ranger soldier and Globe and Anchor US Marine
know they're being turned into a mindless killin' machine;
One deployment and they've got it figured all out
news makers regurgitate policy makers' lies!
It's not 'bout Old Glory and that Superman line;
it's as old as the Bible and satan himself!
Figure it out neocons if you got the guts you can
that US Marine in titanium legs is no longer a fan
of the losers that occupy neoconland!
Let me hear you shout!
We're not fans' of neoconland!
We're not fans of those losers!
We're not fans of neoconland
We took an oath to the Constitution!
Don't thank me for my service
unless you've been where I've been
You're doing me a disservice
unless you've seen what I've seen
You've allowed by honor to be downgraded
You salute the red -white and the blue
while I kill under the flag of the UN baby blue.

disparage the military, your side sure does love to abuse the freedoms that they defend for you. Punks like you pervert the freedoms in this country and support losers, like the Occupy clowns, and crap on authority.
