Looks like Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is betting the farm that America’s voters are with her in her position against building a secure wall along the United States’ border with Mexico.
When asked by Univision correspondent Luis Megid about how she plans to secure the country’s border, Clinton said that instead of “building walls…we should be building bridges.”
LUIS MEGID, CORRESPONDENT, UNIVISION: I asked Hillary Clinton how she would secure the border if not by building walls, as called for by Donald Trump.
HILLARY CLINTON, DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT: I think the idea of building walls as an answer to issues that confront our country is just not the right approach. We should be building bridges, we should be building understanding.
On immigration, Clinton also doubled-down and told Univision she is convinced that “more people are with me that want comprehensive immigration reform on the topic of immigration, which includes a path to citizenship.”
During the portion of the exclusive interview with Clinton that was aired by the country’s leading Spanish-language television network, no questions were raised about Clinton’s ethical and legal troubles, including the ongoing FBI criminal investigation into her conduct in office as Secretary of State, as well as the damning findings of a fresh report from the State Department’s very own Inspector General, with whom she and her aides refused to cooperate.
Below is the transcript of the relevant cited portions of the report by Noticiero Univision aired on June 2:

MARIA ELENA SALINAS, ANCHOR, UNIVISION: Good evening, we begin the news with an exclusive interview with Democratic frontrunner for President Hillary Clinton…after the important speech in San Diego, California, she spoke with our correspondent, Luis Megid. This is part of the interview.
LUIS MEGID, CORRESPONDENT, UNIVISION: The candidate for the Democratic nomination came to San Diego to talk about national security. In a city so close to the border wall, I asked Hillary Clinton how she would secure the border if not by building walls, as called for by Donald Trump.
HILLARY CLINTON: I think the idea of building walls as an answer to issues that confront our country is just not the right approach. We should be building bridges, we should be building understanding.
LUIS MEGID, CORRESPONDENT, UNIVISION: For Secretary Clinton, Donald Trump's ideas are dangerous. I asked if she was worried that many voters saw him as a good leader.
HILLARY CLINTON: Well, many voted for him in the Republican primaries. I have two million more votes than him. And while we're here today, more people are with me that want comprehensive immigration reform on the topic of immigration, which includes a path to citizenship.
