Mika Hails 'Tough' Obama for Insulting Paul Ryan to His Face
As NB's Mark Finkelstein reported earlier, Time's Mark Halperin and MSNBC's Joe Scarborough expressed their bewilderment on Thursday's "Morning Joe" that President Obama would invite Rep. Paul Ryan to the unveiling of the president's budget, sit him in the front row, and then essential call him un-American on national television.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski, on the other hand, far from being displeased by the move, touted it as evidence of the president's political courage. Obama isn't cowardly like congressional Republicans, she intimated, since he will call you un-American to your face.
"I don't think it was insulting" for the president to slime Ryan as he did, Mika claimed. "He was tough and clear." Check out the video below the break.
Okay, I don't get it because I think the Republicans have said some really critical things about the president on camera without him there, and that seems, actually, cowardly. Having Having him in the room, looking him straight in the eye, talking to him before, that to me seems like, 'we have differences, and I'm going to tell you exactly where I stand [unintelligible].
Scarborough, for his part, couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Are you serious?" he repeatedly asked as Brzezinski was talking. Only "a left wing ideologue who is detached from reality," he added, would put down Ryan's budget plan as somehow unserious.
As a bonus, head over to the Right Scoop for audio of Ryan on Mark Levin's radio show Wednesday expressing his bewilderment at being blindsided by the president's attacks.

Ryan should have walked out

Screw Obama. Paul Ryan was elected by his constituents, and given a position of leadership by his peers in the House.
He doesn't have to sit still and be insulted by a talking head like Obama.
And what a lovely negotiating tactic Obama employed....that's going to engender some real good feelings going into the next round. Idiot. (And of course Mika the Twit thinks it's wonderful.....go figure).

I would have got up and walked out right in the middle of Zero's diatribe, in front of cameras and for all to see. THAT would have had a huge impact, and show the GOP isn't taking his crap anymore!!

Obama is only the head of a third of the government. He obviously doesn't want the title of Most Powerful Man in the Free World.
As far as I'm concerned, the time for respecting Obama are over. He is trying his best to bring America to the bottom of the heap. I want him fought at every turn. Let's make lame ducks feel superior to him.

Reminiscent of when Obama chastised the Supreme Court at his SOTU. He knows that those he attacks in this manner can't talk back. And Mika calls that courage? It's cowardice, straight up.
Exactly right...

Tactless, gutless, and anything but presidential. Just like at the SOTU. And it won't stick with anybody that isn't already in the hopelessly delusional bag. Now, Ryan referring to Obama as "campaigner-in-chief"...that resonates.

(kareling -- your post slipped in while I was typing mine...pardon the repetition...)
Gee, Mika, you mean as in slamming the Supreme Court Justices in a public forum where polite (as opposed to Democrat) decorum would dictate that they not rise up, turn around, lift up their robes and collectively moon our Moonbat-in-Chief?
You mean as in when one person dares to answer back "You lie" in the face of direct and clear lies being spewed forth -- again in a forum that requires that one listens quietly and politely (there's that word again!) without the feisty cat-calls that characterize Britain's Parliament -- that said person is vilified and verbally drawn and quartered?
That kind of tough and brave on the speaker's part?
These forums are not conversational, but more lecture format. The speaker speaks and the audience sits quietly and listens. There is NO dialog involved. A cowardly speaker will take advantage of the audience's expected passive listening, instead of standing face to face and verbally going mano-a-mano in a truly "tough" and "courageous" give and take.
The Obamster doesn't want dialog, but monolog (and lots of it!), as in sit-down-shut-up-and-listen-to-me. That's not "tough" -- that's just bullying.
Captain Zero excels in that.

Meeeeeeeeka "honey" I bet my house if there was a debate TODAY with Ryan and Obambi on their competing plans, a spatula would be needed to clean Obambi off the floor "honey".
Real simple, Ryan wrote his plan and knows it cold, Sotero had his written for him and he only knows what was fed into the uh, uh, uh, uh, uh binkyprompter.
If Sotero is so courageous "honey" why send out a mouthpiece to semi-announce that the liar in chief NOW...................... regrets his 2006 NO VOTE on the Debt ceiling?

Why So Serious
Submitted by Utherpend on Thu, 04/14/2011 - 5:14pm.
What is wrong with the Republican Party?
How stupid do they have to be to KEEP playing around with the Pretender in Chief? He is a known liar and has shown he has no respect for anyone that doesn't kiss his robe. Stop trying to be nice and shut them down. Refuse to go along with them and DO NOT attend anymore meetings or events where you have no say.
How would that help?
Submitted by CobraMan on Thu, 04/14/2011 - 5:21pm.
How would totally ignoring the President be beneficial in any way whatsoever? That's a foolish tactic, never mind being extremely childish. You need to engage the opposition, especially with cross-dialog, so that you can expose them to the public. What you're suggesting is to act like a spoiled child, similar holding one's breath in attempt to garner acquiescence, or, worse yet, sticking your fingers in your ears and chanting "na-na-na-na, I can't hear you." When has that ever worked?

What was stated is that BO only speaks where there is no forum for debate. Remember the "you lie" deal. Why go to a meeting where your hands are tied and get beat up? That's not dialog.

On May 29, 2003, Scarborough appeared on Don Imus's radio show. While complimenting Scarborough on his sense of humor, Imus said, "Don't be afraid to be funny, because you are funny. I asked you why you aren't in Congress. You said that you had sex with the intern, and then you had to kill her." Scarborough laughed and replied, "Yeah, well, what are you gonna do?"

This is Obama's typically narcissistic, arrogant, asinine bullying as a fascist-commie "community organizer" laughing at those hurting from $4 gas, forgetting that the voter who laughs last laughs best. For those who know history, the effeminate "civility" crap "respecting" the political opposition is just infantile nonsense, undeserved "cover" for the GOP to be their usual spineless selves so they don't have to get in the 0s face and forcibly pin him to the wall until he screams; they've been in the minority for so many decades they simply have no idea how to function as a majority, and deranged, thus deluded Dims have been in the alleged majority for so many decades (propped up by their drugged sycophants who didn't them a true majority of responsible voters the Founders intended when they required voters be responsible property owners later rejected by treasonous fascist judges) they think they're entitled to govern, their minority notwithstanding. Ryan's proven he's a big boy and is quite capable of besting the deranged commie-fascist 0 (he's no mere socialist), so people need to stop making excuses for the GOP and instead demand they get their act together.

I almost fell off my chair laughing. Because Ryan would wipe the floor with him, and I suspect Obama knows that.

Poor Mika! Once again, her fellow broadcasters on the show were using words of more than one syllable and she was lost. Run the video and watch her facial expressions. She looks like the fourth grader who got hit with a surprise test and had not been studying. At first I thought it was the usual Mika problem.......too many martinis the night before, or maybe a few for breakfast. Then I realized what it was.....an attack of the stupids. Then, of course, she started to speak....big mistake. Mika, here's some free advice. "Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are ignorant than to open it and remove all doubt."
