Fox Dominates (Again), Takes Top 11 Cable News Slots in February

By Lachlan Markay | March 01, 2011 | 20:07

A  A

The Fox News Channel absolutely dominated its cable news competition in February. In terms of overall viewers, the top 11 cable news shows were all on Fox. In the coveted 25-54 demographic - the group that advertisers pay particularly close attention to - Fox took 11 of the top 15 spots.

The Rachel Maddow Show earned the top spot for an MSNBC program. Despite her struggles with factual accuracy of late, it seems Maddow has assumed the role of leading prime time anchor left vacant by Keith Olbermann's departure.

CNN's AC360 led that channel, beating out Maddow in the demo with 304,000 viewers, but trailing MSNBC and Fox leaders in total viewership.

TVNewser provided this pair of handy charts for our reference. The first is total audience and second is demo viewership.

So even with all the king's

Submitted by Miss_Me_Yet on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 8:24pm.

So even with all the misinformation spewed by all the king's whores' & all the king's girly men & manly women, they absolutely don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of reelecting Obama to another term again.

Add in the untimely ( for the democrat party ) demise of the cancerous unions from sea to shining sea and We the People get our America back, in the end.

Liberals ... we can't live with them, they couldn't survive without us ...

More people watch Red Eye

Submitted by bkeyser on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 8:27pm.

More people watch Red Eye between 3-4am than Joy Behar from 10-11pm.

Ol' Red Eye and Joey Rebar

Submitted by CO2Maker on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 10:18pm.

You have to drink a bottle of Ol' Red Eye if you want to make it through a session with Joey Rebar.

I was just going to mention

Submitted by Beukeboom on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 10:51am.

I was just going to mention that. My prediction is that by the fall, Behar will be off HLN. They'll probably spin it that she wants to concentrate more on her standup comedy and the View.

Not to nitpick ...

Submitted by dbehsman on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 4:28am.

I would say that Conservatives watch a lot of QUALITY television. Liberals tend to consume the garbage. To each their own, I guess.

Maddow lower than O'Reilly repeats - ouch!

Submitted by Wonder95 on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 8:39pm.

Wow, so Maddow got beaten by O'Reilly repeats in both and "MSNBC Investigates" in 25-54.  That's gotta hurt.

I still have a feeling

Submitted by Beukeboom on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 10:52am.

I still have a feeling Comcast will ultimately replace most if not all of their hosts.

They have producers out at

Submitted by Miss_Me_Yet on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 11:15am.

They have producers out at zoos across America every day stationed outside of the monkey cages. As soon as one of the primates throws a pile of their feces at the wall and it sticks, a new MSNBC star is born.

So far no luck, so they've resorted to the next worse thing. Recruiting muslim ji hadist rejects like Skank Uger and that guy that slept with Michael Jackson.

MADDOW, MADDOW,

Submitted by Herbster on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 10:39pm.

Maddow, Maddow, how does your garden grow?  With lies galore and truth no more.....I'm whipped by O'Reilly's show.

Rachel, Rachel, how does your garden grow?  With Olby gone, it's tough to be on.....when Fox has eleven top shows.

Maddow, Maddow, how does your garden grow?  When Comcast takes over, will I be in clover?.....or, out the door I will go.

Rachel, Rachel, how does your garden grow?  I can't get specific. 'cause things aren't terrific....Fox hit me with a fatal blow.

Rachel Maddow, Rachel Maddow, how does your garden grow?.................NOBODY CARES!

Rachel-Ron and Keith the Sports Boy

Submitted by CO2Maker on Tue, 03/01/2011 - 11:32pm.

I've mentioned before the uncanny resemblance between Rachel Maddow and Ron Reagan Jr. Has anyone ever seen them in the same room at the same time?

Have you noticed how much Carlos Estevez resembles Keith the Sports Boy, minus the $400 stylish glasses and plus the electric hair? Oh, I"m sorry, I should have used his Anglo name, Charlie Sheen.

Imagine Keith TSB on ecstasy or psilocybin mushrooms: "And now, Meltdown with Carlos Olbermann! This week's Bad-Worse-Worsted People in the Whole Wide World of the Earth are:

FOX news is ratings King

Submitted by shawn. on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 12:12am.

Too bad NB only has words of criticism for certain shows on their sister station and does not acknowledge the ratings dominance of Glee and Family Guy. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/03/01/family-guy-is-the-spongebob-...

I'm really impressed with Fox

Submitted by Thoreau on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 2:23am.

I'm really impressed with Fox considering Rupert Murdoch is an islamic nut licking Pommy socialist.  So Kudos to the fat man behind the curtain.  Ailes I think his name is.

and still they don't learn...

Submitted by wizardjr on Wed, 03/02/2011 - 4:58am.

If the conservatives can ever get their hands on a major broadcast network news show it'll be a tidal wave of viewers coming to them.

People are dumb and slow on the uptake but eventually even those slow Joes finally get it. I can't wait for this thing to turn. I'm so sick of libtards and their AGW and "Boooosh did it", etc., etc., etc.

YAY!! Anderson Cooper is 16th!!!

Submitted by gopcongress on Thu, 03/03/2011 - 8:08am.

There is another thread about this here somewhere. In related news, the Clippers beat the Rockets, the Tigers split Team A beat split Team B, and the Hawthorne High School golf team finished 8th out of 14 teams.
