Sorry Liberals, Glenn Beck Did Not Tell Viewers to Shoot People in the Head

Left-wing bloggers are touting their latest smear of a conservative radio talk show host and as you would expect, there's absolutely nothing to the charge.
The target this time is FNC host and radio talker Glenn Beck. In a segment last year, Beck warned establishment liberals that encouraging the far-left revolutionary types could end up backfiring in dangerous ways. "You're going to have to shoot them in the head," he warned, when the uber-leftists find out that the center-leftists aren't really on board with their revolutionary endgame.
Clearly, as Patterico notes, "you" in that sentence is referring to the establishment left, and "them" is referring to the wackos who want to do away with capitalism and "American imperialism" and such - you know, the folks who think Hugo Chavez's brand of dictatorship is just swell (video and transcript below the fold).

But what the politicians don't understand, the ones who have co-opted these revolutionaries and brought them in the process, is they are dangerous. Why? Why? Well, because a lot of them have called for violent revolution in the past and they never distanced themselves from it…
Tea parties believe in small government. We believe in returning to the principles of our Founding Fathers. We respect them. We revere them. Shoot me in the head before I stop talking about the Founders. Shoot me in the head if you try to change our government.
I will stand against you and so will millions of others. We believe in something. You in the media and most in Washington don't. The radicals that you and Washington have co-opted and brought in wearing sheep's clothing — change the pose. You will get the ends.
You've been using them? They believe in communism. They believe and have called for a revolution. You're going to have to shoot them in the head. But warning, they may shoot you.
They are dangerous because they believe. Karl Marx is their George Washington. You will never change their mind. And if they feel you have lied to them — they're revolutionaries. Nancy Pelosi, those are the people you should be worried about.
That should make the context clear: Pelosi had better be careful of the nutjobs she co-opted for her own ends, Beck warned, since they really do believe in violence. But the Nutroots aren't about to let context get in the way of a good Glenn Beck smear. The far-left Fox-haters are in full attack mode.
I know, I know, another day, another Fox News smear. There is nothing particularly novel about the tactic. But let this serve as a warning to all would-be media parrots. Do not take the claims of the left's faux-muckrakers at face-value.
*****UPDATE: In a followup post, Patterico notes that one of the lefty bloggers making a ruckus about Beck's comments - and accusing him of directly inciting his viewers to murder via this segment - "is business partners with a guy who was convicted of setting off numerous bombs — including one that literally blew off a man’s leg." Pot, meet kettle.
*****UPDATE 2: In response to reactions from a few readers, here are a couple clarifications I should make. First, I'm not sure why Beck thought it would be neccesary for the establishment left to shoot its revolutionary partners once the latter found out that they'd been played for fools. Apparently he thought violence would neccesarily ensue and that one group would have to off the other. I have no idea how he arrived at that conclusion.
Clearly this statement was pure hyperbole. Beck often attributes his most controversial statements to a tongue-in-cheek attitude. Maybe the 10 words the left is fixated on were just an overly-dramatic (and ill-advised) means to get accross just how volatile and dangrous he thought the situation was. Maybe he actually does think the two groups will eventually turn violent towards each other. I have no idea. I can't read the man's mind.
Is the statement an example of civil, moderate discourse? Of course not. But that fact does not excuse the lies certain folks on the left are trying to push.

They consider anyone who would dare to disagreee with their distorted views of the world to be their "enemy". From time to time, Glenn shows clips and pieces used to smear him and then explains them and why how they are beingused is so wrong. I expect he will laugh, even giggle, on his show today as he does so with this one.

Glenn Beck has been calling on the far left for many years now to come out of the closet. Be open with who you are and your true agenda in order to have honest and fair debate on important issues. No one from the left is wlling to do that. They simply throw out one line lies and deceptions with nothing of substance.
Glenn Beck does not have an "armband" on his blackboard nor anywhere else in his studio nor himself. He does wear a "wristband". For a man who believes in honesty, the quote written on the wrist band tells you everything about Beck. The wrist band says:

He relates that wrist band and that quote to "wearing your heart on your sleeve". So please, do your sto' bought troll talking points all you want. Best you actually watch Beck once in awhile so that you better understand what your cue cards actually mean.

Again you deflect from a discussion of issues and substance by concentrating on minutiae.
Glenn Beck has many props that he uses on his show even M&M's, frogs, all sorts of data and photos. He does not use inciteful props to expound on his beliefs, he uses them to expose those who hide behind rehtoric. You have not provided a link to show any proof of your accusations.
As a regular viewer of Beck, and I admit he can be annoying, he is very thorough and detailed in his presentations on any particular subject, person, or issue. To use a single photo or one line quote from his show is disingenuous and deliberately distracting in order to avoid any discussion of the issues he presents.
Progressives have redefined liberal, socialist, nazi, and other labels in order to detract from their "true agenda" which you have shown several times in your comments. To redefine these labels is to project onto conservatives the very tactics the progressives use to further their agenda. It is simply another of Alinsky's rules.
What is your agenda here at NB? Is it simply to spew one liners in order to incite? Why are you not willing to discuss fully, with research to support your point of view, any issues of substance but rather irrelevant and intentional misdirection?
There are many members more than willing to openly and objectively, yes even at NB, debate important issues relevant to events transforming this country. These members would accept your different view but not if you throw out one line demeaning and inciteful comments. Give this some thought and perhaps re configure your presentation of your views if you do intend to welcome respectful, meaningful debate. Just a suggestion.

As I have stated before, Beck uses props for his shows. He has shown, over a period of 2 years, connections between the far left radicals, socialist, and those who call themselves progressives and their associations with revolutionaries and LABOR unions throughtout history to accomplish their goal of tyranny.
Joseph Goebbels in 1933 was the leader of the NAZI party, which is german for the NATIONAL SOCIALIST LABOR PARTY. He used this organiztion to manipulate the people of Germany entrap the people to follow he and Hitler's agenda. Goebbels was a great believer in a book written by Edward Bernays titled PROPAGANDA(1928) and how it could take uneducated masses to be led or herded like cattle into a corral of their choosing. (same words used by the Czar Cass Sunstein). Bernays knew how to manipulate people having studied with his uncle, Sigmund Freud. When he learned how his theories had been "misused" he changed the label from Propaganda to PUBLIC RELATIONS. Stalin and Lenin had very similar tactics but they manipulated information through "useful idiots". People in positions of influence and power and celebrities enchanted with such terms as "the evil rich", "compassion for the poor", blah blah. Sound familiar Frankie?
Revolutionaries have all used some of these tactics and propaganda to mislead the masses. Beck has,, as previously stated, been exposing these revolutionary tactics and how they are being used today by radicals in this country. He has connected eugenics beliefs from Margaret Sanger to people like John Holdren. A man now in position to create a "single payer" health care program that uses taxpayer monies to pay for abortion "for the poor". Exacly the intent of Lenin and Hitler and other historical dictators.
It is difficult to conduct in depth analysis of history and its relation to todays world at NB. As Beck says daily, look it up yourself and study.
My disagreement with you is that, you as other liberals, mislead, misdirect intentionally with minutiae then try to magnify simply to incite by implication. Beck and conservatives are about as far from NAZI as you can get. But to uneducated individuals, sound bites, inciteful one liners and falsehoods are the tools and tactics used by those very people in our society today that Beck is trying to expose.
An example of a "useful idiot" who uses one line lies to incite is Spike Lee. He recently stated that America is the most violent country in world history. I found that statement absolutely hilarious. Educated people would. China, the middle east and parts of Europe have cultures that are 5000 yrs old. Many conflicts are historically documented in these cultures within and with other cultures that resulted in deaths of millions of people. The US is 234 yrs old. To compare our history with 5000 yr old cultures is stupidity but once again, an example of an inciteful misleading one liner intended to manipulate the thinking of the "cattle" in order to more easily have them corraled. This exposure of how radicals have infiltrated the media and positions of influence in this country is what Beck does best.
Dont misinterpret my posts to imply that I am a big fan of Beck since I am not. But I also read and study other media moguls who also have the power to influence the populace. This is why I so enjoy NB. If you expound on your opinions and point of view on serious issues involving our society with substance and accurate portrayals, I would enjoy those debates. If however you continue to throw out inciteful one line lies, you will see further replies from this cajun. Comprend?

Last year, Sara Palin did an ad showing vulnerable Dems and Reps facing reelection with surveyor marks but the msm called them targets after the Tuscon shooting. All he gets is angry vitriol and name calling. After review of this videotape, tell me again who is the NAZI and who wants the destruction of our country.

On January 18, Rep. Steve Cohen (D - TN) compared the tactics of those opposed to the recently passed Health Care Reform Act to those used by the Nazis. He didn't call them Nazis - he compared the Big Lie tactics.
On January 20, Megyn Kelly interviewed Richard Socarides on Fox News. Mr. Socarides said "Every night on the very network we're on right now, the leading commentators on this network use this type of language..."
Ms. Kelly immediate got all upset and claimed that was "Just not true. I watch it [Fox News programming] every day and you're wrong..."
Jon Stewart offered numerous examples of leading Fox News commentators using that type of language. Of course, those examples weren't hard to find.
Above I pointed out on Glumm Bleek's blackboard is a Nazi symbol - clearly "Nazi imagery." Or, if you prefer, a Nazi comparison. Do you really not see that? If you do, then my point is clear to you. Ms. Kelly was wrong - leading commendators on Fox News frequently use Nazi comparisons.

Show me a link where Van Jones is calling for peaceful change, Francis Fox Piven is really just a nice old lady, Anita Dunn was just kidding when she stated she so admired Mao. John Holdren and Cass Sunstein are just "compassionate" liberals looking out for the poor. Trumka and Stern are really looking out for the "workers" of America. These are the people who advise Obama or a part of his administration thru regulatory powers. These people have the power to change this country, not Meghan Kelly, not BOR, not Sarah Palin, Beck nor Rush.

Three investigative committee's throughout the world studied Bush's justification for going to Iraq. The media distorted those issues and only settled on WMD's. All three of these world wide oversight committee's found no evidence that Bush lied. But that doesnt stop the lying media and lying liberals from spreading well lies.
It has been covered in detail in the rest of the world but nada here in the US about the information released from the Wikileaks documents. Actually Beck was profoundly prophetic and predicted a similar shooting of a Dem by one of the radicals that they like to whip into a froth. Watch the show from part "A" and also the 6/10/10 show (a 2 parter).
I always wondered if it was significant that the assassin called Rep. Giffords "stupid" and disingenous because of her answer to his question during a townhall meeting in '07(according to a friend). According to Beck, A FULL 7 MONTHS BEFORE Giffords was shot, yes.
BTW, the NAZI symbol was a left-over from a previous segment on where they fit in the political spectrum.
