Not Very 'Interesting': ABC and CBS Morning Shows Ignore Obama Gaffe
While NBC correspondent Peter Alexander noted on Tuesday's Today how "Republicans are jumping on the president's choice of words" in telling a woman her husband's long-term unemployment was "interesting" to him, neither ABC's Good Morning America nor CBS's This Morning bothered to highlight Obama's aloof flub.
The NBC report played the sound bite of the president's remark: "It is interesting to me – and I meant what I said, if you send me your husband's resume I'd be interested in finding out exactly what's happening right there – because the word we're getting is, is that somebody in that kind of high-tech field, that kind of engineer, should be able to find something right away."
In contrast to their silence on Obama looking detached from the concerns of ordinary voters, both the ABC and CBS morning shows pounced on Mitt Romney earlier this month when the Republican candidate told New Hampshire voters that he liked being able to "fire" health insurance companies that do not provide adequate coverage.
Those in media took the comment wildly out of context and excitedly speculated on how much it would hurt Romney. On ABC's Good Morning America, co-host and former Democratic operative George Stephanopoulos proclaimed: "Democrats just licking their chops when they saw this."
Meanwhile, on CBS's This Morning, Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer appeared on the program to mock Romney: "I guess the only thing worse you could say...when people are out of work is that Herbert Hoover is my hero or something like that. It just boggles the mind."
Why isn't Schieffer's mind boggled when President Obama seems puzzled by the plight of average Americans?
Here is Alexander's January 31 mention of Obama's gaffe:

ALEXANDER: And following an interactive Google event with the White House Monday night, Republicans are jumping on the president's choice of words. Mr. Obama offered to help an unemployed engineer get work. The president telling the man's wife he finds it "interesting" that her husband's out of work.

BARACK OBAMA: It is interesting to me – and I meant what I said, if you send me your husband's resume I'd be interested in finding out exactly what's happening right there – because the word we're getting is, is that somebody in that kind of high-tech field, that kind of engineer, should be able to find something right away.

Paging doc sam!

Hey Doc Sam, isn't this proof positive of what you had said in the past posts about the disconnect and NPD and etc about the kind of reactions/responses to certain situations that are considered inappropriate to a certain situation?
Kinda like how he giggled to a woman's question about something which wasn't exactly the proper response to that situation or where he came to a fund raiser long enough(20 minutes I think it was) to tell people he was going to walk the dog and put the kids to bed, even though those people paid THOUSANDS of dollars to come see him?
Blonde, what does this recent gaffe make the tally up to so far, 115 or so?

Didn't that woman also mention how foreign contractors are getting the jobs with H1B visas while Americans are being skipped over? Any report of that?
The RNC has already cut an ad on this gaffe

Every person who has lost a job in the past three years because of the lousy economy under Obama should send a resume to Obama. Millions of resumes landing in the WH post office should finally get the message across to Obama. (which it won't, we know, but they should be mailed to him anyway).
What an A-hole

"..the word we're getting.." Really ? Maybe the problem, jackass, is that the 'word' you get comes from crony Union liars...uh, I mean leaders..ivory-tower elistist 'news' anchors with knee-pads on, race-baiters,hustlers, and LaRaza reconquistas..just to name a few. It also helps that you're an incompetent, out-of-touch. Marxist idiot with your head , your mole, and your big floppy ears firmly planted up your anus.

Thought you might find this 'interesting'. Even excluding 2007, 2008, 2009, last year I was laid off, I was denied the economic-stimulating unemployment, and found a job a few months later, being 'new' I was laid off again when things got slow, I have been able to find some trades work here and there, in most cases, having to actively hunt down the people to get my pay. (too bad I'm not Spanish, I could have called the NLRB hot-line). One week a potential number of jobs (4 in all) all fell through. The longest gig of about a week and a half I was surrounded by workers who spoke NO English, workers, BTW, who were full-time permanent. After my specific job was done, so was I. After getting tired of chasing resources around like a 'migrant worker' and a number of unanswered applications I was able to score some part-time (3 days a week) work. I consider myself lucky. Is that interesting to you? Is it interesting to you that a citizen that is able to scrape up some minimum work should consider himself blessed in this, your 'wonderful, prosperous, job well done'? Jackass. 9 months...start packin'.

I saw this morning and Comrade Downgrade could not have look like a bigger ass if he tried.
What a jackass.
First he speculated about "acording to my information... blah, blah, blah...there should be lots of jobs out there for those kind of skills..."
I wanted to ask him "Where, at Solyndra?"
He was clearly pandering and he looked like a complete clown, sans the foam nose.
No shock that the MSM ignored all of that

Actually, ant, I thought that when he heard 'semiconducter engineer', he'd refer the guy to send his resume to his good buddy Warren (the true American) Buffet, with the possibility of getting a job on one of Warren's trains!!! And since the guy was a 'semi'-conducter, maybe Barry thought that he was like a co-piot or co-navigator.........or co-corPSEman!!!

After you add in his calling Georgia "Russia" -- to Georgia's President, no less! But to the MSM, that's not very interesting either, I guess. Heck-fire -- no one said Macaca, after all.

I watched this clip - which is sayin' something for me, because I can't stand looking at OR listening to this torturous bore!!! But this WAS classic 'Boy BlahBlah'.........with ol' Bigmouth Brainiac meandering around the mulberry bush, trying to sound smart and informed, and not really grasping anything beyond whatever it is that he is trying to - tediously - spit out of his purple lips. I have to give that gal credit for being polite and patient...........I would've thrown down the gauntlet within the first 20-30 seconds.
