In his newly released book ‘Liberty and Tyranny’ author Mark Levin criticizes the mainstream media for its systematic support of left-wing causes. In chapter 8, entitled "On Enviro-Statism," Levin focuses on the media’s slanted coverage of global warming and points out its confusion on the subject:
In 1975, scientists again raised the specter of global cooling. A famous article appearing in Newsweek magazine, titled "The Cooling World," concluded, "The central fact is that after three quarters of a century of extraordinarily mild conditions, the earth’s climate seems to be cooling down."...In 2008, the same Newsweek that gave weight to the false science of global cooling published an article titled "Global Warming Is a Cause of This Year’s Extreme Weather."
Levin goes on to expose CBS’s Scott Pelley as a diehard global warming advocate:
Consider CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley. When asked why his reporting on global warming did not acknowledge the views of skeptics, he replied, "If I do an interview with Elie Wiesel, am I required as a journalist to find a Holocaust denier? This isn’t about politics or pseudo-science or conspiracy theory blogs. This is about sound science."
At the end of the chapter Levin describes the frustration of journalists who demand that more be done to address climate change:
New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, author of Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution – and How It Can Renew America, recently expressed his frustration with the slow pace of the enviro-statism agenda by wishing that "our government with the same persistent focus, stick to the same direction that China does through authoritarian means." China? This is the same regime that sends political opponents to reeducation camps or worse and has one of the dirtiest environments on the planet.
Levin presents the full facts and details regarding climate change that the liberal media frequently leaves out, while claiming to be the purveyors of truth, and as Pelley claimed, "sound science." 'Liberty and Tyranny' exposes this hypocrisy and is well worth reading.
Pelley’s comparison of global warming opponents to Holocaust deniers was made on CBS’s ‘Public Eye’ blog in March of 2006.
The Media Research Center’s Business & Media Institute described Newsweek's global warming contradiction in its May 2006 special report Fire and Ice.

No, but I suspect if you had to do a story on the millions that Stalin killed, you'd feel it necessary to include some Stalin defenders who would say that his murder totals were exaggerated by the "paranoid" anti-communists.

March 25, 2009 - 13:57 ET by NL207Levin is a constitutional lawyer. He was once chief of staff to AG Ed Meese.
What are your credentials?
Levin claims: "all liberals are statist"
Webster says: stat·ism (sttzm)
n.
The practice or doctrine of giving a centralized government control over economic planning and policy.
Is the above not exactly what the liberals present in the Whiote House and Congress are actually doing?
The Munchkin Man is a Statist
March 25, 2009 - 14:06 ET by SterlingMy dear friend, it seems that you do not understand the theory of a strong executive. Levin has called for the executive to have absolute power… even the right to usurp power from the people because he claims that the constitution is too limited for the President to act in a constructive way. That being said, who was the first American Statist- Alexander Hamilton- who argued the same thing that the Munchkin Man was calling for as of last year? It seems that yet again conservatives have been betrayed by a bunch of lawyers in Jeffersonian clothes.
Can you prove it? Can you

It is ironic though, you crazy conservatives will need all the proof in the world about Levin wanting strong executive authority but when some crazy website said the President is not a citizen; the same people will believe it- no proof needed on that one. Now if you will excuse me I must go- this has grown rather boring for me.

March 25, 2009 - 15:29 ET by katainkentThis was not a request for a link. I have done all my assigned homework here. This was a request for you to back up your accusation. I went to Wikipedia. The Great One is Right. Global Warming is a hoax
March 25, 2009 - 14:01 ET by kevinm13Manmade global warming is a hoax. Man can cause polution, which was a word back in the '60's and 70's when we saw the Native American on TV with a tear in his eye when looking at all the garbage people tossed out.
There is no scientific evidence that man has had ANY impact on climate. Cooling or warming. Global warming as defined by Algore is a means to tax people more, create large govenment bureaucracies that control how people use transportation, what they pay for fuel, what fuel is available (anybody see a nuclear plant being built in the US in the last 3 decades? If nuclear is OK for France to drive over 80% of their power, why is it unsafe here? environmentalist whackos!!!), what temperature we set our thermostat to, how food is produced and many other things.
Clean coal and nuclear are the way to go until hydrogen is viable as a fuel source. In the meantime, ignore Algore.
