Boy, I agree. That really is the pot calling the kettle black! I can't believe that an organization which has NO credibility wants to tell us how government needs to clean up their houses. I personally think old Bob is living in the typical media bubble, and doesn't seem to realize that the American people don't trust them, either! Someone needs to tell him that Murrow and gang aren't still with us, and that the Olbermanns and Matthews are the "new" news. I wonder like everyone else here, how can Obama bring his dirty connections to Washington and that's going to clean things up? Isn't that just adding another stink to the already rotting corpse?

Bob Schieffer is an idiot if he thinks any goverment credibility will be restored by Obama.  All we need to do is look towards Bloggogate and many other problems with him already to know it will only get more and more shady as November 2012 approaches.

When Bush came in… 

• We were in a historic economic bubble crash – Started March, 2000 (then historic - now worse-- but they are connected - everyone of note understands that).
• The rich had become seriously more rich (quite contraire to commonly held Politics. The top 1% of income earners share, of all income earned, had soared from 14% in 1993 to 21% in 2000. Biden would claim that this, for the first time since the roaring 20's had occurred during the Bush years, creating hate and division. Under Bush, it fell, then made it's way back up to 21%, now perhaps 22% - before it crashes again. Same for the CEO vs. average worker pay ratio's. Under Clinton it soared - under Bush they soured. Media has convinced the people it was the other way around. Your job, should you decide to accept it, Bob,  is to get the charts from me.
• Every leading economic indicator had sharply reversed course in the year preceding the transition.
• Congress was talking recession – and looking for stimulus options.
• The media was lecturing Bush/Cheney for talking down the economy – this time around the media was cheerleading talking down the economy.
• Millions were starting to loose their jobs
• Thousands of companies (3,600 NASDAQ corp’s would be de-listed) were going out of business – it would trickle down ..
• The economic hit was going to wipe out all of the so called $5 Trillion in projected budget surpluses – a fairy tale. The only question on the table was whether or not it would be worse under Gore or under Bush.
• Economists, like the noted MSM loved liberal Dean Baker, of CEPR, were calling the financial leadership under Clinton, the worst since Herbert Hoover. These widely loved experts are in the news every week – and they still say that the roots of this crisis were laid during the Clinton era – but our media does not quote that part of their view. I'm not blaming Clinton here - I am suggesting that the country needs to see the entire path.
• New HUD direction had set the stage for fueling the next economic crisis - the housing bubble.
• the Mideast was in the middle of a violent Intafada  - the peace talks had collapsed.
• Clinton had just passed Plan Colombia - a lot of covert military ops – anti drug and to protect Occidental Petroleum's interests - our interests - Gore's interests. The MSM would blame Bush for it for 8 years.
• The US had private contractors (like Blackwater) working with the Colombia Military - bombed a village, Santo Domingo in 1998 - 11 civilians killed.
• We had turned our back on HIV/Aids and Malaria in Africa - 10 million more would die before Bush stepped up to the plate and led the fight.
• 3 1/2 million had just died in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - numerous genocides.
• Africa had just suffered thru the Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Angola tragedies.
• Liberia was falling into chaos  - a big success awaited Bush, here. In Oct. of 2008, he'd be praised for being the stuff that America is famous for. 
• Darfur was heating back up again.
• Fear of a Terrorist attack involving smallpox - remember?
• Gasoline prices had soared in the past year+. up 56% rings a bell?
• California was in the middle of an energy crisis - blackouts.
• Gore had pushed the failed, corrupt auction of oil from the National Strategic Reserves.
• Heating oil prices were a problem in the NE 
• Corporate fraud, accounting fraud was rampant in the dot.com bubble economy.
• North Korea had reigned on it's deal and was processing plutonium for it first nuclear bombs, and a million North Koreans had just died in a famine - and a corrupt government
• Russia was at war in Chechnya
• Kosovo – We’d learned that the war was sold by the Clinton admin. on the basis of another massive genocide taking place – was not the case. Jimmy Carter and Mandela would condemn the US action - and Bob Schieffer was quick to invite them on to attack Clinton, right?
• The Chinese were clamping down for the final push against Tibet - Clinton had refused to meet the Dalai Lama officially, and had led the support for the Olympics going to China - Bush would be hated for this.
• The Taliban had taken over Afghanistan - the final failure of the world to act to save them.
• Bin Laden had declared a holy war two times in the late 90's against the US. CBS would have what to say?
• Attacks against the US had been escalating by Bin Laden – the two African Embassy bombings, the Cole – the LAX bombing plan.
• Iraq was in a state of chaos - we had been bombing them from time to time in massive "shock and awe's for punishment". We had pulled the inspectors out in 1998. The bombing from 1998 to the end of 2000 was escalating into daily events. The world's leftists wanted to end the sanctions against Iraq. Perhaps 2 million had already died because of Saddam. The left would soon say, "no war - the sanctions are working." When did the left ever protest against Saddam - and his horror?
• China and the US were playing spy games in the air over the Taiwan Straight – resulted in a collision and US  airman being held hostage by the Chinese just after Bush took office.

• California was in the middle of an energy crisis - Bush would end it - Clinton had done nothing.
• The country was in the midst of an historic round of high profile corporate and accounting fraud cases (Enron, Adelphia, WorldCom, GlobalCrossing, Anderson Cooper, etc).
• US pollution had suddenly been rising, above the demographic range, again after 20 years of improvement
• We had not reformed immigration
• We had not reformed SS
• We had not added Prescription drugs to Medicare, yet
• We had not opened the door to Cuba
• Chavez was becoming a threat
• Clinton and Blair were convicted for crimes against humanity by the Belgium Courts
• Kyoto had been tabled by Clinton (not that I care)
• We did not have relations with Iran - we were not conducting diplomacy with them.
• The fraud and corruption (Enron, etc.) of the last transition, which most voters associate with Pres. Bush - was almost entirely of the pre-Bush era.
• The US had engaged in the Clinton (Gore supported) ordered policy of Extraordinary Rendition for 5 years, as we did not have Gitmo yet. Send them to Egypt to get tortured for information.

With 'journalists' like him covering for Obama, it just might happen.

All they have to do is agree to report that 'The government has gotten back it's credibility' and the Masses will buy it.

The problem is that after 23 years of 'Mentoring' and spiritual guidance Barack Obama had 'NO IDEA' what Mentor Wright had taught him or what Mentor Wright believed in.

Barack Obama will be involved in 'On The Job Training' in 2009 and his advisers will have the difficult task of training him in a short time, unless Obama was lying about Mentor Wright which is probable.

The Obama 'Current Truth' (subject to change) is that he will tax America into prosperity.
