Journalists Lock Step With Celebrities in Bashing Ted Cruz Presidential Campaign Announcement on Twitter

Since Sen. Ted Cruz has been in the national spotlight, the media has devoted time to smearing him as an extremist who is "slimy" and "dangerous."  After his announcement today that he was officially running for POTUS, some liberals even contested Cruz's eligibility to run for President. Even though Cruz is of Hispanic heritage, no claims of racism by the media have surfaced about these "birther" claims like they did with Pres. Obama. 

The attacks continued on Twitter by liberal journalists and celebrities who really can't stand the openly Christian candidate.

Oliver Willis of Media MattersSan Francisco Chronicle/SF Gate columnist Mark Morford and TIME's Elizabeth Dias attacked Cruz for speaking at an evangelical university:

Besides being "dumb," he's about as trustworthy as a used car salesman, according to comedian Andy Richter, who is sidekick to Conan O'Brien on his late-night show. Left-wing magazine The Nation also called Cruz an outright liar:

Liberal actress Mia Farrow joined in MSNBC's alarmist language called Cruz "frightening" and too "extreme" for the majority of Americans. Has she read her own tweets?

Meanwhile, Daily Show writer Lizz Winstead called Cruz a "narcissist" who's speech was yawn-worthy:

CNN's Sally Kohn, who famously said recently in an op-ed that she was disappointed her daughter wasn't a lesbian, laughably insinuated Cruz was too out-of-touch with the majority of Americans to garner a win:
