LA Times Compares Shoe Hurler To Joe Wurzelbacher

While the mainstream media whines that everyone should just "move on" from the Blagojevich scandal, they continue to harp on any conservative who was involved with McCain-Palin campaign. Los Angeles Times writer Tina Susman took a shot at Joe Wurzelbacher on Monday and compared him to Iraqi journalist and part-time shoe thrower Muntather Zaidi.(my emphasis throughout:)

In the few seconds it took Iraqi journalist Muntather Zaidi to wing a pair of shoes at President George Bush, the Middle East got its own version of Joe the Plumber.

Just as Joe Wurzelbacher's gripes to Barack Obama during the U.S. presidential election catapulted him to fame, Zaidi's burst of rage toward Bush during a Baghdad news conference Sunday has made him a household name across the Middle East.

To many, Zaidi is a hero for engaging in the ultimate Arab world insult -- hurling his shoes -- at Bush, who ducked to avoid being slammed in the head. To others, Zaidi is an embarrassment for a society that prides itself on being hospitable to guests, even those who are not much liked. Whichever way his act is viewed, there's no question that Zaidi, like Wurzelbacher, is no longer just another Joe.

Apparently, someone did not tell Susman that the 2008 election is over and Joe Wurzelbacher only asked a question of then candidate Obama that liberals did not like. This is a far cry from a physical assault.

While Susman's article is mostly a description of all the support Zaidi is receiving from the Middle East to the United States, nevertheless she points out that Zaidi owns a Che Guevara poster in his apartment.

This kind of information begins to explain why many on the left in the United States are cheering this individual on, as they may have the same poster tacked to their own walls.

The Wurzelbacher analogy is weak anyway. Perhaps Susman could not think of a conservative who has physically assaulted a liberal politician or dignitary in the name of a political issue.

This may be shocking to Susman, but only liberals physically attack those who do not agree with them.  Newsweek celebrated the physical assaults on those like Ann Coulter, Bill Kristol, Pat Buchanan, and David Horowitz. Thomas Friedman recently joined this club.

It is not just prominent conservatives, though, who have been physically attacked by lefties. Just ask any celebrity in Hollywood who dared to wear fur one evening and had red paint hurled on them by a PETA activist.

Maybe Susman had a revelation for a moment that only Che-Guevara worshiping individuals throw shoes, pies, and paint at other people they do not like.  Why should it matter?  As far as Susman is concerned, asking Obama a challenging question is the same as assault.

Muntather Zaidi is clearly upset that Bush freed the Iraqi people from a murderous dictator who Zaidi obviously supported. He shouldn't worry though, Obama will soon deliver him and his fellow Iraqis into the hands of the murderous Iranian leaders, who will continue the tradition of oppression.

They're just jealous because

They're just jealous because they only have the courage to  figuratively throw shoes at the President....

Thanks Kerry P. !

For pointing out the never-ending idiocy of the Left in our nation's elite newspapers.  Susman is obviously fallen into the black hole of: 1) Not just reporting news, but spinnning it to her opinion, 2) Showing she hasn't learned the significance of JoeThePlumber's question to Obama, 3) Stretching too hard to find a ridiculously stupid analogy to the shoe-thrower's new fame, 4) Exaggerating the Iraqi peoples' negative opinions against Bush, 5)Minimizing their respect for Bush delivering them from Saddam, and on and on.  This article of Susman is exactly why the LAT, NYT, and WaPo have dug themselves a hole and fallen into it.  They've made it virtually impossible for anyone who voted for Bush to enjoy seeing page A1 every day, much less pay $500/year to do so.

Liberal hypocrisy runs a muck

Liberals often tout the most hateful words and expressions and claim it as their right of freedom of speech. Any restraint or criticism of their bizarre, hateful, negative expressions  is often demonized as censorship, intimidation, and repression of their rights.

However, when our president is exercised his right to speak in a foreign country, these same liberals think it is appropriate and comical, to have a shoe hurled at him.

I was dismayed to read the following "thread" on the Barbara Sher website forum, under politics.

God Bless Muntazer al-Zaidi!

I'll apologize afterwards for this if it offends anyone, but you've got to love this!

Bush held a press conference during his surprise trip to Iraq and an Iraqi journalist THREW HIS SHOES AT BUSH(!!!!!!) which is the ultimate insult in that society.

Here's the video on YouTube:

The comments following this post were very hateful toward our president our troops and our country.

I posted a few comments, trying to put  this shameful incident in prospective, but I was strongly criticized by every comment.

If you would like to help me try and talk some sense into this bunch of far leftists, click on this link, register and post a comment.

I think that these people live is such a solid liberal bubble, that they have completely lost touch with reality. I think it would be doing them a service to them, to show that most of America does not think the way that they do.

There is little point in posting our views solely on conservative websites. We are preaching to the quire. It is enjoyable and informative to have healthy, but respectful debates on websites with far-left views.

By contrasting their emotional, inconsistent and irrational views, with dispassionate reason and commonsense, their hypocrisy becomes so obvious, that even they might be able to see it for what it is.

The Fox video is the one I

The Fox video is the one I saw yesterday that infuriated me.

They ran a loop showing the attack the entire time that Jarrett (?) was talking!

I PREDICT: Before George

I PREDICT: Before George Bush leaves office, a reporter from CNN will throw a shoe at him!

No one has the

No one has the cojones.

As I said above, their shoe-throwing is "figurative"...as in "metaphorical."

The left now feels they got

The left now feels they got justice or revenge for the Joe the Plumber question to Obama.

Funny - I compared Joe the Plumber to Shoe thrower yesterday

on twitter.

I said that maybe Joe the Plumber should have thrown his shoes at Obama instead of asking a polite question and then maybe he would have been treated with reverence instead of smears.

Of course I was being sarcastic, because had JTP hurled shoes at Obama the media would have been even worse.  Anyone throwing anything anywhere at a liberal would be treated as a nutcase who was representative of the whole conservative culture.  There would be endless reports about the persons sanity and crazy ideas.

This Jurno, is treated as respectfully representative of all Arabs.   Shoe throwing, bombing & and all acts of violence (even when using children and mentally handicapped) are cool to liberals as long as you are attacking unarmed conservatives.  Liberals can even be killed too, as long as the target appears to THEM to be attacking conservative principals.  Never mind the fact that libs are too dense to realize that Al Queda hates liberal ideas even more.

shoe throwing

These boneheads that equate assulting a head of state with asking a polite question need to use some kind of common sense, if they have an, but then again they're democrat/liberals so that explains the lack of common sense. They go after and try to destroy someone for asking a polite question and make a hero out of a criminal. Typical democrat/liberal logic.

The guy now has a couple of

The guy now has a couple of broken ribs, and cuts on his face, so someone doesn't consider him a folk hero. By the way, how many times have you heard that this guy is a Baathist? That being the case, him throwing a shoe is a compliment. Whenever these anti-America types get ticked off at us, it means we're doing something right.

"Libs never let you down. You don't have to talk to one very long before the stupid comes out."

"This may be shocking to

"This may be shocking to Susman, but only liberals physically attack those who do not agree with them."

The party of tolerance and diversity is neither.

Would it be ok to throw my shoes at BHO then?

According to this logic, I imagine that it will be ok to throw my shoes at Barack Obama if I disagree with him right?

It's amazing how these lefties think that some civility rules don't apply to them.

Joe only threw a question at PEBO.

Will work for beer.

Too bad...

Too bad you are unable to think clearly.  The comparison was between JTPs sudden rise to fame and the same condition for this Iraqi shoe-thrower.  It was not a comparison and/or equalization of their respective acts.  Now, c'mon.  You REALLY understand this, right?  I know you have to write whiny, petulant columns for this site, but, honestly, you REALLY do know what the article meant.  Right?  Right??  Please say yes.....  btw, how 'bout some boigraphical info about yourself?

Colemine1210

said it would happen :P

pleh!  not that I am happy about being right about something this obnoxious.

armed with as little information as possible, the media vaults this man to "average joe becomes national hero" status.   Most information about this man, I am sure will be neglected, as the actual details of this man's life are 'unecessary' just as much as every detail of Samuel Wurzelbacher's life was 'need to know'.

"part of what I'm hoping to introduce as the next president is a new ethic of [government enforced] responsibility" - B. Obama

"It is not just prominent

"It is not just prominent conservatives, though, who have been
physically attacked by lefties. Just ask any celebrity in Hollywood who dared to wear fur one evening and had red paint hurled on them by a PETA activist."

It would be entertaining to see these morons try to throw red paint at a leather-jacketed motorcycle "club." Or attack a group of inner-city blacks for supporting Prop. 8. They would then get what they deserve.
