MSNBC's Maddow Implies Palin Is Anti-Semitic

After Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin gave her speech last night, MSNBC talking heads Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow gathered to discuss the VP candidate's remarks. Among the topics covered was Palin's religious background.

MATTHEWS: Is it true that she believes that God supports the war in Iraq? How does she know?

MADDOW: Was she sitting in the pew in her church in Wasilla two weeks ago when a speaker said that the Israelis deserve terrorist attacks, because Jews are unbelievers in Christ?

MADDOW: That was in the Politico today.  Jews for Jesus founder speaking at her church while she was there two weeks ago making incredibly, incredibly out of line comments about Israel and Jewish people. These are tough questions she'll have to answer.

MATTHEWS: Pro or con?

MADDOW: Saying that's why Israel was subject to terrorist attacks. It was God's judgment for not believing in Christ.

MATTHEWS: What's the source?

MADDOW: Politico.com

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

For a media that is scaring its audience about Palin's Christianity, it sure does understand the concept of an "eye for eye."  The search for a right wing Jeremiah Wright is on.   Maddow is referring to Ben Smith's Politico article.

According to the story, Palin’s pastor, Larry Kroon, introduced  Jews for Jesus leader David Brickner on Aug. 17.  While MSNBC's Maddow is quoting Brickner from the Politico, she fails to mention the article also says the following about Palin:

Palin was in church that day, Kroon said, though he cautioned against attributing Brickner’s views to her.

The article continues:

Republican Jewish Coalition e-mailed its members evidence of her support for Israel: a video in which a small Israeli flag can be seen poking out from behind a drape.

"I think it speaks volumes that she keeps an Israeli flag on the wall of her office," the group's executive director, Matt Brooks, told Politico in an e-mail. "It clearly shows what's in her heart.”

The article continues:

...Tuesday, both sides scrambled to play on the changed turf of the Jewish vote. Palin, shepherded by Lieberman, introduced herself to leaders of the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC in St. Paul on Tuesday.

"We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said.

Regardless of Palin's views on Israel, her Christian beliefs will count as a strike against her among media pundits.  The long standing relationship between Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama should be looked at more carefully than a speaker who simply visited Palin's church recently.

Unlike Obama's relationship to Rev.Wright, Palin did not write a book based on the sermons of this individual who spoke at her church and her children were not baptized by him either.

Maddow may believe she is putting Brickner's words into Palin's mouth, but the comparison is flimsy and Palin's past relationship with Alaska's Jewish community has proven otherwise.

The "MS" in MSNBC

Interesting that Microsoft - which is the "MS" in MSNBC - has never been held responsible for the Hard Left political bias at MSNBC.

Also, I don't believe Microsoft has ever disclosed how much money it has lost funding MSNBC.

Microsoft, like all public corporations, is highly vulnerable to financial and political criticism.

Perhaps Conservatives should shift their criticism away from NBC, which is a Left Side lost cause, and focus on Microsoft, which still has an 18% stake in MSNBC.

Microsoft also has a 50% stake in the Ultra Hard Left MSNBC.com news website.

MSNBC.com is the #2 news website in America, just slightly behind Yahoo.com.

MSNBC.com is primarily produced at Microsoft corporate headquarters in Redmond, WA.

Wait, so this person did make these statements in her church as a guest speaker?

Yes Balboa

Yes he did bal and he was the guest speaker every Sunday for 21 years and she just sat there. He also introduced her to Christ, married she and her husband and baptised all of their children;;;;; and  I would say, in that case that she agreed with his opinions, wouldn't you. The anti-semetic.

What do you say bal;;;;huh, huh, huh?

bal,

your point is?

well bal

A couple points:

1) Jews for Jesus is hardly an anti-Semitic group, and that particular idea, though controversial, is also held by many Messianic Jews. Check out some prominent Jews like Paul Wilbur some time and ask them their opinions.

2) The guy was a guest speaker and said one thing in his whole sermon for them to jump on. Sometimes guest speakers do that unexpectedly, it doesn't mean everyone agrees with it all. Big difference between that and a full time pastor.

3) At the risk of beating a dead horse, where was the media questioning Jeremiah Wright? He got an exclusive interview on PBS and had offensive lines edited out.

Of course Obama's Rev. Wright is a non-issue.  Obama's relation with the slumlord Rezko, not an issue.  Watch the youtube video.  Amazing the sate of the gov financed low income housing that Rezko developed.  Think of what will happen if these people get their hands on Healthcare or our energy policy.

I have a gut feeling --- the media is going to far this time.

For many years, the American audience has been quietly expressing its displeasure with them through the pocketbook and viewing habits.

But there is something about this moment right now --- I have a gut feeling --- these rabid attacks on Palin - will be the last straw. I think the media's camel back is about to be broken. I think the attacks on Palin along with the lopsided bias in favor of Obama for so many months now....

....are going to generate a lasting backlash.

I would be interested to see if the site numbers here at Newsbusters go up dramatically in the next couple of weeks.

I'd like to know if the volume of email and mail and phone calls to complain at the networks, cable news, and paper news sources spike...

I don't think that Newsbusters item about people holding up signs behind NBC news people slamming NBC for bias represents just the views of Republican supporters.

More evidence that the MSM doesn't get Evangelicals...

Evangelical Christians believe the Bible.  If the New Testament says it, it happened.

HE WAS JEWISH!  To say that an Evangelical is ANTI-SEMITIC is like saying that fish are anti-water.  Doesn't work.

Nice try, and a 9.0 for originality, but as was said before, please try to give this story legs so your hypocrisy on the Obama-Wright relationship can get more ugly light shed on it.

Get off it

Okay . . . stop the anti semitic comments, folks.

You're aiming them at the wrong person: Aim instead to Democrat hero has-been Jimmy Carter--who is on record as being anti semitic.

As for Governor Palin.

Her speech last night was a raging success.  She hit it out of the park.  She showed strength, resolve, intelligence, passion, compassion, and a fighting spirit.  All good things.

Where was the press in exposing the America-hating "preacher" Jeremiah Wright, Jr. of the Trinity United Church of Christ? (Remember, "God Damn America.") And Obama sits in that pew for 20 years and has no knowledge of Wright's America-hating, caucasion hating philosophy?  Screw you.

Obama does not deserve to even go on the White House Tour (with a senator's permission, of course), let alone command the U.S. military, or lead the most powerful and free country in the world. He does not deserve to be even mayor of a town of 8,000 people.

He is a construct; a cardboard cutout; an empty suit; a harvard lawyer (I am also a lawyer so I know what I'm talking about.....my undergrade was political science and journalism....so again, I know what I'm talking about....). Obama is a socialist.  He is arrogant because he does not have enough experience to be humble as is McCain.

So, before you tell lies about Palin, start trying to reveal the truth about Obama---about Ayers, Aulinsky, or Obama's self-admitted mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA.  Where's the reporting on that folks?

And rub this in:  I tried giving money to McCain online last night, and his website was so busy, I couldn't get through with my political donation.  I'm hoping McCain raises $10 Million in 24 hours after Palin's speech last night.

Obama should have picked Hillary.  Heck, as a Republican, I felt Hillary had been completely "dissed" by the DNC and Obama.  What a bunch of losers.  Biden.  Biden's a lightweight.

Many of my colleagues are women (professionals), and they are pissed off and feel betrayed by the DNC, Obama (and that bastard liar Edwards), and they're voting for McCain.  Yes, McCain.  Repeat:  McCain.  This woman Sarah Palin is the nail on the coffin against the Democratic women-haters.  Women everywhere are identifying with her, and with all of her family issues to boot (Who doesn't have a family member who has made mistakes? Who doesn't know a family with an out-of-wedlock pregnant teenager?)  Get this you liberal left-wing elitist Democrats: Sarah Palin is real.  She is flesh and blood, and has brains and beauty.  She is the real deal.  The complete package.  And the left is scared to death of her.  They have to kill her politically; they have to destroy her character.  But I don't think the left will succeed because there are millions and millions of us who are thrilled at Sarah Palin's breath of fresh air (including me, a professional Republican lawyer who believes in a woman's right to choose but who doesn't use that one "plank" to determine my vote---I'd rather have lower taxes, safe borders, and dead terrorists....).

I'm hoping Sarah Palin goes to Washington and kicks butt. Even if she's kicking butt of the Republican Party.  Good!

God bless America.

...and if the note strikes enough of a chord....and people want a follow up........just hit them with another drive by on something unrelated ---- more indepth coverage about her being a Jew-hater?  Hey, did you notice her kid is pregnant?  Is that really her baby?  Hey, hey, that was yesterday's news....why focus on that --- when you can hear today she once took up a musket and tried to fight for Alaskan independence!!! ------ Just drive by after drive by ---- its media for generation Xers and beyond.....

....only rarely does something outrageous happen --- like with Dan Rather's documentary evidence against Bush .....where the audience is able to strong arm the media into sticking with a claim or statement long enough to force them to admit they are full of [expletive deleted] poo....

That does it for me........

If Madcrow read this on Politico, it must be the gospel.  Only other fact checker needed would be the Daily Kos.

To what rock quarry does MSNBC go, in order to find such noble creatures as Maddow and Olbermann?

Matthews: Is it true that

Matthews: Is it true that she believes that God supports the war in Iraq? How does she know?

I'm taking it this means Matthews is agnostic...or atheist...

The problem for him (and much of the media) is that much of America isn't.

You might not find many who would boldly say US GIs are God's Warrirors on a divine mission to rid the world of evil.

But.......I would make a safe bet.......many Americans of faith would say God is on our side --- and not the likes of Hussein or Bin Laden's crew.....

I went to the source and

I went to the source and David is part of Jews for Jesus.  He does believe it is part of God's judgement, but they leave out a very important part.  Below is taken from Aug 17 at the church, it near the end of the sermon.

But what we see in Israel, the conflict that is spilled out throughout the Middle East, really which is all about Jerusalem, is an ongoing reflection of the fact that there is judgment.  There is judgment that is going on in the land, and that’s the other part of this Jerusalem Dilemma. and more

And now Jesus in that temple, just before going to the cross, says, ‘From now on this place is desolate.’  And Jesus’ words have echoed down through the centuries.  Not a generation after He uttered this promise, Titus and his Roman legions marched into that city and destroyed both the city and the temple.  And from that day until this very present there has been no temple, and there is therefore no sacrifice in Judaism

Then we get to what Madow may have been upset about When Isaac was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people.  Judgment—you can’t miss it.  And Jesus talks about it, but He didn’t leave us there.  There’s a promise of a return from this judgment

I look at this speech and say it is one mans idea of the end times are near and possibly may happen in our lifetime.  This, Jesus is coming and will seek retribution, is the red meat you might hear in any real Christian church on any Sunday or any day of the week.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

Regular Jews

I wonder --- do any regular practicing Jewish people see the current events in Israel as biblical? (their bible, of course)

I have a vague notion from media accounts over the years that the more fundamentalist Jewish groups do - and that is why they are against any land for peace deals.

But, what about just average members of the Jewish faith?

Do they see the bombings and other events as connected to God's plan in some mysterious way we can only guess at?

Of course, this is different from saying the bombings and turmoil are happening because they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah...

....but do they put the contemporary troubles in a faith-based, biblical context - and if so - how do they define it?

If we had a real media --- and they wanted to talk about Palin's church's visiting speaker --- it might be a question they'd look into....

So...according to these two mental giants...

If you go see a Michael Moore movie, you can automatically be attributed with whatver Moore aledges in it?

I would call them both morons, but that would be an insult to morons everywhere.

A Quick Bible Lesson via Evangelical Believers

Understand that everything that Christians say, especially Evangelicals, comes from the Bible.  Whether you agree with them or not, the majority of Christians at least have a Scripture they can point to that backs up their belief.  (Contrast this with liberals who use Marx, Darwin, etc). If you can locate the Scripture, you can locate the Christian's viewpoint.

One teaching among Evangelicals is that Israel will go through a judgment and after them the other nations that made it hard for Israel will see judgment. (In Israel's case I'm not saying it's because of unbelief in Christ.  The Bible seems to imply that it's because they were to guide the world to the one true God, but worshipped idols and followed other gods).

Anyway, Christians use the following verses in Isaiah 51:22-23 to justify judgment of Israel and then other nations.

"Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again: But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over."

"MSNBC must remain undivided"

"Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said."

Help me out here - who was that other dignitary who expressed the same sentiment in a speech to AIPAC and then flipped two days later?

Maddow is an unbelievable toolette - no, I take that back, doesn't quite fit... can't wait for her bigtime debut next Monday night! That bump you'll see behind the curtain will be Olbermoron wanking to beat the band. But you can't have her, Keith - she belongs to the ages now...

She has an Israeli flag in her office.

For the love of god, this woman has an Israeli flag in her office.

Bible

There are numerous Old Testiment prophecies which speak about various threats to the soverignity of the Land of Israel and Jerusalem.. and that God says that those nations who seek to divide the land will incur his wrath

Zech 12:3 Moreover, on that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy burden for all the nations, and all who try to carry it will be seriously injured

Zech 14:2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem  to wage war; the city will be taken, its houses plundered, and the women raped. Then half of the city will go into exile, but the remainder of the people will not be taken away.

Ezekiel 35:10 “‘You said, “These two nations, these two lands6 will be mine, and we will possess them,”7 – although the Lord was there –

Joel 3:2 Then I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgment  against them there concerning my people Israel who are my inheritance,  whom they scattered among the nations. They partitioned my land,

Micah 4:11 Many nations have now assembled against you, They say, “Jerusalem must be desecrated, so we can gloat over Zion!” But they do not know what the Lord is planning; they do not understand his strategy. He has gathered them like stalks of grain to be threshed  at the threshing floor.

Obama's relationship to Rev.Wright

Aapparently Madcow does not have a problem with a man who for over 20 years (twenty, 2 decades) was an active member of a church that preached the most vile anti-Jewish and anti-Semitic hate, honored Louis Farrakhan who praised Hitler, and promoted the cause of Hamas and destruction of Israel.

So because he one day gave a speech and threw Wright under the bus it wipes his slate clean? What about his foreign policy advisors who are the most anti-Israel people one could find? I think not. Madcow should stifle.

Any Jew who votes for Obama needs to examine their soul.

Maddow is a complete

Maddow is a complete fool.  Palin is a Christian Conservative.  Polls and surveys have repeatedly shown Christian Conservatives are the single group in America that most tolerates Jews and, other than Conservative Jews, most supports Israel.

Perhaps Rachel Maddow needs to review which political party Louis Farrakhan and his followers, among the most anti-semitic people in America, are aligned with?

Wow..

So just who is the Maddow fellow??...kinda looks like a chick

Now, this might sting just a little bit.....

THE FINAL WORD...

Rachel Maddow is a failed radio host on the failed ErrorAmerika, yeah it's still on the air, but barely. She has hundreds of listeners. Her employment at MSNBC is due to BathTubBoy bringing her in, & a few thousand people watch her & Olby. Not exactly ratings gold.

If Maddow was right about Palin & the right being anti semitic, maybe she should look into Obama's church. Trinity is in lock step with the Nation of Islam, both hate the Jews. I think maybe someone in the media should poll the people of Israel(not Jews who live in Manhattan)& see who they would like to see win the election. I believe they would like McCain/Palin. Then they could go poll Israel's enemies, those nations who would party wildly if Israel was wiped off the map. I kinda think that they would love to see Obama/Biden. Maybe Dr.Maddow could look into it, but I doubt she will...

Jews for Jesus and Palin

I am a Jewish believer in Jesus. Rachel Maddow not only misrepresented what the Jews for Jesus speaker said at Palin's church, she even misrepresented what Politico.com said about Brickner's speech. Here is a link to the Politico.com article: http://www.politico.... says that Politico said that the Israelis DESERVED terrorist attacks.Look and see whether you can find that language in the Politico article. . Here is a direct quote from David Brickner regarding his remarks at Sarah Palin's church:"The comments attributed to me were taken out of context. The notion that the terrorist, bulldozer attack in Jerusalem this summer was God’s judgment on Israel for not believing in Jesus, is absolutely not what I believe. In retrospect, I can see how my rhetoric might be misunderstood and I truly regret that. Of course I never expected the kind of magnifying glass scrutiny on a message where I was speaking extemporaneously. Let me be clear. I don’t believe that any one event whether a terrorist attack or a natural disaster is a specific fulfillment of or manifestation of a Biblical prediction of judgment. I don’t believe that the newspaper should be used to interpret the Bible. The Bible interprets the Bible. I love my Jewish people and the land of Israel. I stand with and support her against all efforts to harm her or her people in any way. Please feel free to read my further explanations on the front page of our website, both in my article and in the interviews I did with Christianity Today and NBC." The website is www.jewsforjesus.org

Thanks for the insight, msieger...

David Brickner spoke at my church back in June and I had the opportunity of talking with him briefly after the service - very powerful speaker and on fire for God and His people!

I am a big fan of "Lamb" and "The Liberated Wailing Wall" and  had the joy of interviewing Joel Chernoff a few years ago for a radio show I wrote, produced and hosted - great music!

You have to remember - the MSM has absolutely no interest in the truth - now nor in the future - and will hear only what they want to hear. Is it any wonder Maddow said what she did? She is a liberal radio talk show host has-been!
