Hudson Institute’s Stanley Kurtz was invited on to Milton Rosenberg’s radio show on Chicago’s WGN to discuss what Kurtz had discovered about the William Ayers-Barack Obama connection. After requesting the Justice Department bring about criminal charges to a billionaire who funded an ad that linked Obama to Ayers, the Obama campaign sent out an angry email to their supporters urging them to call into Rosenberg's show. Below is the text of the email :
In the next few hours, we have a crucial opportunity to fight one of the most cynical and offensive smears ever launched against Barack.Tonight, WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears. He’s currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.Call into the “Extension 720″ show with Milt Rosenberg at (312) 591-7200(Show airs from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. tonight)Story Continues Below Ad ↓Then report back on your call at http://my.barackobama.com/WGNstandards
Kurtz has been using his absurd TV appearances in an awkward and dishonest attempt to play the terrorism card. His current ploy is to embellish the relationship between Barack and Ayers.
Just last night on Fox News, Kurtz drastically exaggerated Barack’s connection with Ayers by claiming Ayers had recruited Barack to the board of the Annenberg Challenge. That is completely false and has been disproved in numerous press accounts.
It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves. At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz’s lies.
Callers demanded to know why Rosenberg was “giving air time” to Kurtz to “slander” the Democrats’ presidential nominee. Rosenberg stood firm on his decision to have Kurtz on his show and insisted his staff tried getting someone from the Obama campaign to come on to refute Kurtz to no avail.
Obama callers were not satisfied with Rosenberg’s explanation and continued demanding answers from the host while excoriating Kurtz .

August 28, 2008 - 19:25 ET by ElyasObama is bringing more attention to this issue by trying to stifle Kurtz. When someone is that desparate to ensure someone that has information on them should not talk, people begin to wonder exactly what the person has to say.

Obama / Ayers
August 28, 2008 - 19:42 ET by kiwikitOne key reason why this relationship is important is that Ayers is an admitted, unrepentant terrorist. Saying after getting off after years on the lamb because of prosecutorial errors that he 'was guilty as sin, and free as a bird. What a wonderful place the US is!' and only a few years ago admitting that he's sorry he didn't blow up more buildings. This from a guy whose bomb went off accidentally and killed three people from his weathermen gang. Beside the old addage, 'tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are!,' this is the only executive experience Obama ever had and it was a gigantic failure. Over $100 million given away and no improvement in education. Could that be because it was all handed over to Ayers and his friends? Voters must know about this before they cast their all important votesin November.

August 28, 2008 - 20:04 ET by ZachJonesIsHomeToday, I made a comment on the Swamp. I referred to an article that I had written and in just a couple of hours I had 600 visits to the article. The Swamp was forced to shut down their comment for a fairly long time. I heard this on Rush and Glen Beck today. This was my post:
America
came together for a brief time after 9/11.
What a good feeling that was during such a tragic time. I think most of America
remains regretful that that feeling did not last. So what happened? Why didn’t it last? Well - it seems to me…. I

August 28, 2008 - 20:26 ET by ThisnThatHmmmm, let's do some comparison here....
Here's what the Obama campaign just said:
one of the most cynical and offensive smears
baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears
right-wing hatchet man
smear-merchant
slimy character assassin like Kurtz
divisive, destructive ranting
And yet, the Obama campaign accuses WGN of "lowering the standards of political discourse"???? Just exactly what are the higher standards of the Obama campaign, anyway?

Between This And The Threats To Simmons/AIP
August 28, 2008 - 21:36 ET by geoff.galeIt's clear how the Obama administration would treat the First Amendment. On the one hand they employ the Saul Alinsky/Al Sharptongue 'street-thug' tactics of bullying to stifle free expression, and on the other hand, the office of sitting Senator reaches out to the Department of Justice to try to initiate prosecution intended to stifle a citizens' protected political speech.
I think the mask has slipped a bit, Barack Hussein Obama, you've shown that you have a strong tyrannical streak in you. But I appreciate your showing it off to the voters before you got into office instead of after.
