As Mike Allen and Hadas Gold of Politico reported in separate items today, MSNBC vice president of communications Rachel Racusen is going back through the revolving door to the Obama White House, ending a brief stint at the Lean Forward network that began only last November.
"Before leaving the administration last year, Racusen was associate White House communications director," Gold noted. She will now be a "strategic communications adviser" focused on "long-term communications projects" according to Obama White House comms director Jen Psaki.
"I’ve been lucky to get to work with the great team at MSNBC. Unexpectedly, the White House reached out with an exciting opportunity to help spearhead long-term communications priorities during their 'fourth quarter,' and it will be an honor to return to work for the President and his administration in this new capacity," Racusen said in a statement.
