The broadcast media's blackout on news of the Catholic Church's lawsuit against the Obama administration continues apace, while the news media covers much more important events like who won American Idol.

So it's no wonder that MRCTV's Dan Joseph found only one person yesterday who knew about the lawsuit. Watch the video in the embed below the page break.

I knew things were bad… but not this bad. The mind boggles.

We were basically dumb to the news of the world because nothing was published except for what the state wanted published.....that's what happens in a monarchy....

This doesn't speak well for the internet...

Submitted by Jer on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 2:04pm.

because the story is ALL OVER the blogosphere. Near total saturation: righty blogs, lefty blogs, mainstream blogs, sidestream blogs, yahoo news, google news, cbs.com, abc. com, msnbc, Wall Street Journal, HuffPo, DKos, FoxNews...

It's everywhere.

Jer - it speaks volumns for the internet.

Submitted by Gary Hall on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 2:09pm.

And the only reason it has to be all over the "rightyblogs, lefty blogs, mainstream blogs, sidestream blogs, yahoo news, google news, cbs.com, abc. com, msnbc, Wall Street Journal, HuffPo, DKos, FoxNews..." is the same reason so much other news is forced to be delivered there - and, that's the reason the "righty blogs, lefty blogs, mainstream blogs, sidestream blogs, yahoo news, google news, cbs.com, abc. com, msnbc, Wall Street Journal, HuffPo, DKos, FoxNews..." exist in the first place . .

. . . our national MSM has failed miserably in doing  their job of reporting the news.

Gary...

There are more--and a greater variety of--news sources than at any time in our history. Yet the public is being seduced by celebrity kitsch. And the alphabet network news outlets, hemorrhaging viewers, attempt to compete by airing fluff. And that, rather than ideological obeisance, lies at the root of the decline in more serious reporting [as well as budget and staff reductions which accompany shrinking audiences and less revenue.]

Very true. But it's because Americans care more about the Kardashians and DWTS than the issues that will define how they live their lives in the future. Extremely disheartening.

I don't understand it, Rad...

Submitted by Jer on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 3:21pm.

But I believe in 500 years when [well, hopefully "if"] historians are looking back on The Decline and Fall of America, they will point to the Kardashians.

Censorship is very effective - in politics.

Submitted by Gary Hall on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 2:05pm.

The people (the voters, folks)  don't know:

About the lawsuits against the Obama administration.

That a strong majority (70%) supported the two measures in the AZ immigration bill that Obama sued to block.

That the main cause "by far," (to quote progressive economist Dean Baker),  that the Clinton era surpluses turned to massive deficits, almost immediately, was from the economic fallout of the Dot.com bubble collapse in March, 2000 - not the Bush stimulus (tax cuts) nor war costs.

That most voters supported the CCB budget bill.

That most voters support a balanced budget amendment - and a smaller government costing less.

That Obama stole his first election - in Illinois.

That President Clinton stated that Obama is an amateur and an incompetent President.

That Mort Zuckerman, editor of US News, and supporter of Obama in 2008,  wrote the same thing.

That Helen Thomas shrilled that the Obama WH's control of the news was even worse than Richard Nixon.

That Chris Matthews was clear that Obama doesn't have a notion of what being President is all about.

That many in the national MSM have admitted that they handed the 2008 election to Obama.

That Obama supported the Clinton led Cuomo/HUD birth of the housing bubble that led to the recent crisis.

That only 25% (Pew Poll) supports Obama's immigration reform agenda.

About Obama's illegal alien Aunt (well, now she's legal) and drunk uncle.

That Obama laughed at his own "shovel ready stimulus bill."

That one of his closest friends attempted to bribe Rev Wright with $150,000 in hush money.

That when Obama (et. al) say we can't return to the "failed policies of the Bush years that created the crisis - no one has ever asked them to explain what policies they are referring to, as they are making it up.

And, we haven't even begun here talking about his major failures in economic, domestic and foreign policy.
