Big Journalism's John Nolte: Shameless Hack at Politico Digging Up Dirt on Private Citizen in Romney Ad In Order to Defend Obama
Our friend John Nolte at Big Journalism points out that Politico is back to its old tricks, defending Barack Obama from criticism by digging up dirt on a private citizen who supports his Republican opponent. In 2008, it was Joe the Plumber who was vetted by the Politico. This time around, it's an Iowa man who appears in a Romney Web ad.
"Right now Politico is doing oppo-research on private citizens to aid Obama. Seems to me that makes journalist's private lives fair game, no?" Nolte asked this morning in a tweet, noting in another tweet that "Politico's Maggie Haberman is a public figure in a position of power. Why is her private life any less newsworthy than a private citizen?"
That's actually a pretty good question.

In the modern world all that you need is a virtual club.

and in my opinion, shames the entire Politico organization. Yes, they're decidedly biased. But occasionally they pull off a decent article when the NYT or WaPo won't tough it; usually something minutely critical of the White House. If nothing else, their financial power allows them access, and to break some news that is followed up on and expanded by bloggers.
But this is completely disgraceful and pointless-other than to try to discredit a Romney ad. Anyone linking a Politico piece from this point forward under the guise of actual journalism, needs to qualify it by referencing this bit**es piece.
They're only doing the real dirty work for their partner MSNBC.

These days, you can get away with ANYTHING on a blog, even divulging the personal details of private citizens.
And thus

Editor-in-Chief, John F. Harris, and Executive Editor, Jim VandeHei have repeatedly insisted that there's NO LIBERAL MEDIA BIAS at Politico. That's very funny to me.
I agree, media nutjobs have no 'right to privacy' because

they placed themselves in the limelight and intentionally made themselves a part of every story printed or reported on.
But, then again, when media elites, during the Clinton dalliances fiasco, they told their entire moral and ethical values with the phrase "It's private, and besides everybody does it."
Well, 'everybody' includes themselves and their close circle of friends, but NOT most of America.
So when Cokie Roberts and her ilk made that comment, it pretty much made a public declaration that they slept around on a regular basis.
I don't really care, I just like slapping their little faces once in a while.
End 'gun violence in America' - Require training and MANDATORY "Shall Carry" by every Citizen.
If harry reid is the best person to lead the senate, what does that say about the other 99 senators?
