Liberal Actor Don Cheadle Slams NBC for Selective Editing of Zimmerman Tape

By Ken Shepherd | April 05, 2012 | 14:38

It's not every day that Obama donor Don Cheadle and NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell agree on something.

As the Academy Award-nominated actor's Twitter feed shows, he has no use for liberal media outlets distorting the news through selective editing. Cheadle isn't buying NBC's lame excuses and half apologies for its edits of the Zimmerman 911 call, as the folks at Twitchy have noted, documenting Cheadle's tweets on the matter.

"It was 'an error made in the production process that we deeply regret.' Really? 'Error?' Anybody out there know anything about editing?" Cheadle tweeted yesterday.  This was a "Dangerous subject matter to be f*cking with. Irresponsible, incendiary and completely counter to the furtherance of justice for either side," Cheadle complained.

For more, check out Twitchy's posts here and here.

Corrected from earlier (10:02 a.m. EDT, April 6): I mistakenly wrote that Cheadle had won an Academy Award. He was nominated for but did not win an Oscar for his role in Hotel Rwanda.

I am looking forward to the civil suit

I am looking forward to the civil suit that Zimmerman will file vs Comcast, General Electric, Disney, and Time Warner. I hope the trial is televised.

Nice to know

Nice to know there are still some liberals who admit that something another liberal does is wrong. Zimmerman's life is ruined and I certainly do hope he sues the crap out of the LSM, Al and Jesse. About time these a holes had to pay for their lying crap.

Jer, my liberal but ol'

Submitted by killa37 on Fri, 04/06/2012 - 12:33am.

Jer, my liberal but ol' buddy...........can you give me a coherent definition and explanation of 'TROOF TO POWER'??? I mean, whenever I hear that stupid phrase, it's uttered (uddered???) by some whacked out lib queebie twerp, purporting to be throwing down the gauntlet on somebody who has more 'power' than they do!!! I mean, I've heard John F**king Kerry use the damn phrase??? Who is above that nimrod, anyway???

As far as I'm concerned, 'TROOF TO POWER" has about as much 'gravitas' as 'hope and change', or 'yes we can', or 'change you can believe in'.................or any of those other totally dopey and irrelevant slogans that we always have to endure during an election year.

As I"ve said MANY times here on NB - 'common sense' has been under attack for years, and it will surely be outlawed if Boy Baraka continues. It's a 'brave new world' out there, and 'reality' has been totally re-defined!!!!

Sometimes the Media jumps the shark

Submitted by Tidy Bowl Man on Thu, 04/05/2012 - 5:25pm.

They did with this whole issue. Fanning the flames of racism for ratings? As far as Sharpton and Jackson, they have become a joke in their own communities I think. They fan the flames for personal gain. Sad that that is the only way they can feel relevant.

But it baffles me how NBC thought they could get away with it. It defies logic and common sense that anyone either directly or indirectly involved with the editing and the dissemination of the tape could believe the complete audio wouldn't be released and widely publicized revealing the glaring contextual distortion. It would be nice to hear a detailed explanation.

Question for the lawyer*

Can the FCC get involved in this incident? Can Zimmerman's lawyer sue?

Submitted by Jer on Fri, 04/06/2012 - 12:08am.

FCC involvement: It can, if complaint is filed. Probably a long shot. See here. [Scroll down to Part III:  Deliberate Distortion Complaint]

Can Zimmerman sue? Of course. See Shirley Sherrod. Defamation and false light claims.

Tough cases.

I will take the time to read thru lawyer speak. But as far as "defamation" suit, Zimmerman has a bigger complaint than defamation or slander. He has been purposely denied the right to a "fair" trial and impartial jury. I dont think people like the race baiters and the lying media realize they are shooting themselves in the foot.

It is rare that MSM is challenged on their biased reporting. So when they get away with it on a nightly basis, they feel free to push the biased line as far as they can. And when everyone in the room is as liberal as the next guy there isn't anyone left to say, "Hey, maybe we should'nt do this".

Don,you don't understand. You NEVER go off the reservation! Sad ,but true. I feel Like I am living in Russia under Stalin,I've lost so many freedoms. It will only get worse under Obama! Wake up America, this guy is ruining this country and the last people he cares about is the middle class. Obama is all class, but it's all third!

Twisted Tributes to Trayvon

Submitted by berlet98 on Fri, 04/06/2012 - 2:30am.

Twisted Tributes to Trayvon

Hysterical black congresswomen haven’t been heard from in a few days after venting their rage at the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida but agitators such as Rev. Jesse Jackson, the New Black Panther Party, and Rev. Al Sharpton haven’t skipped a beat in their vitriolic abuse of George Zimmerman.

Jackson absurdly said Wednesday morning that, ”If a white kills a black we revolt, if a black kills a white it’s jail time, we kill each other it’s Miller time. It’s as if somebody has the right to kill us,” the NBPP reiterated its million dollar bounty on Zimmerman’s head, and Sharpton has been invited to the White House for Easter.

As the city of Sanford nervously awaits the ruling by the special prosecutor assigned to investigate the shooting, Angela Corey, it’s preparing for the worst.

After all the baseless, inflammatory rhetoric that has been spewed, Sanford officials are expecting social upheavals that could rival the aftermath of the Rodney King riots of twenty years ago.

Sanford’s emergency management team has met frequently with Attorney General Holder’s Department of Justice, extra police and fire department officers are on standby, and neighboring towns have been asked to be at the ready.

Considering the extremist and violent threats already made in the matter, Florida’s National Guard could be called out should the special prosecutor find that Zimmerman was justified in shooting Martin and that his jailing would be a miscarriage of justice.

Can’t we all just get along, at least until the investigation is complete and justice served?

Apparently not, based on recent events in Florida and elsewhere.

. To show their solidarity with Trayvon, dozens of students from North Miami Beach Senior High School followed a protest demonstration at the school a week ago by marching through the streets of North Miami and ransacking a Walgreens to the tune of $1100.

. Just east of Sanford, two black men, Julius Ricardo Bender and Yahaziel Isaac Israel, have been charged with attempted first-degree murder, . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=20824.)
