MSNBC's Bashir Hails Obama Contraceptive 'Compromise'
On Monday, MSNBC's Martin Bashir tried to obscure the real policy issues in the contraceptive mandate row by harping on Newt Gingrich's past infidelities. On Wednesday, the afternoon host stocked his program with liberals who backed the Obama administration's position and complained Republicans were engaging in a "toxic waste of time" by calling for congressional debate on the contraceptive mandate.
Today, with a "compromise" in the works that meets the approval of Planned Parenthood and NARAL, but not the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Bashir cheered the administration as though it had, with Solomonic wisdom, balanced the competing interests of "women's health" and religious liberty.
Bashir did include one conservative guest who was skeptical of the Obama administration's move, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), but Bashir devoted that interview to attacking Republicans on both the contraceptive mandate issue and other issues like unemployment insurance and proposed welfare reforms.
What's more, one of Bashir's pro-Obama guests, former DNC chief Karen Finney, was featured during today's program commenting favorably on the "compromise," without once mentioning or being tagged onscreen as a NARAL Pro-Choice America Board of Directors member. In January Finney attended NARAL's annual fundraising dinner which is pegged to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
Far from being an objective journalist intent on giving his audience both sides of the debate, Bashir has proven time and again a flak for the Obama White House and the Democratic Party.

Obama had a meeting with his advisors and they compromised. Somehow the Catholic Church wasn't part of the negotiation.

There's one element that has been overlooked. obama has mandated totally free access to reproductive care for women. But what's missing here? Women don't need reproductive care unless there is a man involved somewhere.
So I say men unite! Demand that obama mandate totally free viagra.
THIS WAS NO 'COMPRIMSE'!

They 'made accommodations'. In other words, Obama dictated new terms that the church must follow.
Obama never comprises, cause he must first think he's wrong and he'll never admit that he's wrong.
This "mandate compromise" is bunk.

There was no rollback! Its a sham, a ruse, a card trick!
The 'Bamer shifted the costs from the church to the insurance company. In order to pay for "free" birth control, the insurance companies are going to have to raise the rates that the churches have to pay for health insurance for their workers.
Either way, the churches pay for all birth control coverage.

Martin just can't help himself, trying to see how many stupid things he can say in one program. nobama didn't move an inch-insurance companies are going to pay for it? Martin doesn't get profit and loss, does he
MSNMBC had the WH talking points before Obama . . .

. . . made the announcement. The MSNBC mob -- including the highly perturbed Father Chris Matthews -- was all queued to declare Oama's "accommodation" a success the minute Obama revealed it.
Watch or them to drop discussing it on MSNBC as if the problem was solved, when everyone knows they really changed nothing.
its not perfect

But at least he is not forcing the Catholics to pay for something against their religion. I'm glad he was willing to compromise

Because when you spread the
wealthguilt around,it's good for everyoneit makes the Catholics feel better about selling out? What you sycophantically refuse to see is that Obama is rubbing the Church's face in his plan to greatly enlarge the daily sacrifice.
Don't think for a minute the high priest of Molech sitting in the White House doesn't draw strength from the daily sacrifice.

In the past 3 years how many times have you heard me compliment Obama?
I feel this is a decent compromise.
between who??

Who do you think he compromised with on this? It's still a dictatorial edict, just dressed up differently and not giving any choice in the matter to the US people. Quit trying to fool people thinking he did a good thing with this.
Regardless of what this "compromise" that you speak so glowingly of, this is just yet another constitutional violation he committed. Not that you libs care about that sort of thing, and don't pretend that you do.

One can only wish that Bashir's parents had better access to contraceptive measures...
