Komen Sees 100 Percent Increase in Fundraising Post-Planned Parenthood Defunding Move
The liberal media have had a field day as they've been hard-at-work bashing the breast cancer charity Komen for the Cure and hyping how Planned Parenthood raised some $400,000 in 24 hours following Komen's announced decision to suspend grants to the abortion provider.
But did you know that Komen has seen a 100 percent uptick in its donations? Caroline May of The Daily Caller reported that this afternoon:
In the wake of this week’s announcement that Susan G. Komen for the Cure will no longer be awarding grants to Planned Parenthood, the breast cancer organization’s donations have gone up 100 percent in the last two days.
On a Thursday conference call Nancy Brinker, the founder and CEO of the Komen Foundation, told reporters that the organization is “singularly focused” on combating breast cancer, and that the politics of the decision to stop funding Planned Parenthood has been distracting from their mission.
Nevertheless, since cutting ties, Brinker announced that Komen’s donations have gone up in the last two days — by 100 percent.
“Our donations are up 100 percent in the past two days. With all of the emotion around these issues — which we understand, we get emotional too, we do this every single day of our lives,” Brinker said, explaining that they do not make decisions to be popular, they make them to fight cancer.
Pro-lifers are just as fired up with excitement that Komen is distancing itself from Planned Parenthood as pro-choice radicals are incensed at the move. It remains to be seen if the liberal media will note Komen's fundraising success, but we at NewsBusters are calling on them to Tell the Truth!

The Liberal mind is incomprehensible. How is it that the dirty business of cutting out growing embryos is such a holy sacrament to them? obama is a perfect example of this mindset. If you want to really fire him up let him defend abortion from attack or give him an opportunity to increase the practice.

The libs love to paint conservatives as the party of hate, what a joke. How can anything be more hateful than the destruction of the most innocent of us. They don't even try to hide it anymore, abortion is their Jesus. All we hear about is the woman's right to chose. Well how about she chooses to keep her pants on and stay out of a man's bedroom, unless it's her husbands. It was all about women's rights. Women wanted to be equal with men, and in the business world, I agree with it. Equal work demands equal pay, regardless of sex. Why is it that some women have taken the call to arms so literally, that they think they must compete with men at all levels. This is sheer nonsense, it cannot be done, women cannot compete with men is some ways, nor can men compete with women in some ways. That's just a fact. How about we all strive to be better Americans. Americans who care enough about their government that they will throw out career politicians from all branches of government, federal, state, and local.
Congress was never meant to be a career, and it certainly wasn't meant to be run by a bunch of lawyers.
Congress, at least the House of representatives, is supposed to be made up of a cross section of Americans, regular people from all walks of life, not all lawyers.
Where have we gotten this idea that Congressmen have to have little letters after their names, or the second or the thirds, Regenal Van Poopdeck the 3rd. reporting for duty in Congress, after all it is my turn.
People, what have they turned our Congress into?
A den of thieves and liars.
You get to decide in November, throw all of these contemptible congress-critters out on their butts. No more trading votes like baseball cards. No more middle of the night pay raises. No more lifetime perks. You serve in Congress for a time, then you go home to your family and job.
Career and politics should not be spoken in the same breath.
Woman's right to choose

I agree with you MacWell. A woman's right to choose ends when she has unprotected sex. At that point she has made her choice. As for any exceptions for rape or incest, well as long as we have lawyers like the one who defended Jane Roe we can't have any exceptions. Jane Roe lied on the stand and her Lawyer knew about it. Does the case get thrown out of court because the key witness lied? No. Does the Lawyer who knew about the lie get disbarred? No, she get commended, praised. So, when a woman decides to have unprotected sex, she makes her choice. Exceptions can't be granted because we have crooked Lawyers. Protect the unborn!!!

Rush nails it again. He has long said that abortion has become a sacrament to feminism. It's a religion to liberals. And if a woman doesn't take their 'communion', then they are branded as heretics and Liberals send their version of the Spanish Inquisition after them - the media.
I hope Komen has some kind of protection, because in this highly charge political climate, liberals and the media could well stir up their zealots to violence. They will claim, of course, that they are doing it to 'save' women from the evil Koman, who threatens to doom them all to die of breast cancer unless she takes the liberal communion.
Mark my words, the liberal media are their Spanish Inquisition, and they will attack her, her family, and loved ones in every quarter of society. They will attack her at work and at home. If she has kids in school, they will order the teachers to persecute them in the classroom and send them home weeping. They will vandalize her home, terrorize her, taunt her and brutalize her until she goes crawling to them to bed them for mercy.

my day!! We're so used to being browbeaten by these knuckleheads in their bully pulpits, that sometimes we forget that we are greater in number than these idiots, they're just LOUDER and have the the biggest megaphone. This restores my faith in sanity and humanity. Yes, this is going to be a nasty election season, but not because our "conservative" politicians have finally grown a spine, but because the PEOPLE are finally waking up and getting involved.

I read that Komen still has some obligations to PP that have to be fulfilled. After that, the Komen sponsorship of PP is supposed to come to an end.
