Video: NB Publisher Brent Bozell Hits the Media's 'Purposeful Character Assassination' of Romney
By NB Staff | January 16, 2012 | 12:08
While the news media has a professional "obligation to get it right," liberal network news anchor last week set out to "purposefully" take Mitt Romney's "fire people" comment out of context, Fox News host Sean Hannity complained on his January 13 program.
But it's not only "purposeful distortion" but "purposeful character assassination" by the liberal media added NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell, who appeared via satellite for the popular recurring "Media Mash" feature. [MP3 audio available here; video embedded below page break]
"I can guarantee you, Sean, that if this were the Democrats and somebody was taking something that they were saying out of context that every single reporter would be on the news correcting the record so that America would know exactly what that candidate had said," the Media Research Center founder and president added. "Now they're doing the exact opposite."
Also discussed during the "Media Mash" segment was the biased agenda of questions at the ABC and NBC debates that preceded the New Hampshire primary.

While the news media has a professional "obligation to get it right,"
But we all know the LSM thinks they have an "obligation to get the right". We saw it with the high tech lynching of Herman Cain.

The news media (other than Fox and alternates), only have an obligation to get Obama reelected... they have this obligation because they practiced significant malfeasance in getting him elected in the first place, and have to keep the myth going.
Second, it is going to be nearly impossible for Romney to beat Obama. Other than business experience and color, they are almost the same person. And, unfortunately, Romney's experience was in a sector not highly respected by the common person, so it will be easy for the leftists to manipulate that into him being a bad guy. This firing comment is one example. Brent is doing a good job knocking it down, but since he is not on ABCBMSNBCNN, he is not going to reach most of the "undecides" who will determine this race.
What about: gun control, abortion, taxation, health care, etc? We may know that ANYONE is better than Obama on EVERYTHING, but on the right, we are not going to be excited about Romney, and in the middle, they are going to be taught how to hate him by the LSM!

You go on to say that "...but on the right, we are not going to be excited about Romney..." and Maureen adds:
Democrats and independents may have fallen out of love with President Obama, but Republicans and independents can’t fall in love with Mitt Romney. The two Harvard Law School grads are heading into a match with oddly matching flaws: both became famous while staying enigmatic and inaccessible.
...she then uses this 'hook' to tell you all about Romney's Mormon faith to further prove your fears about the 'right', primarily the 'evangelical right' which will struggle with this:
Some former Romney advisers say that bringing Mormonism into the mainstream is part of why he wants to be president. But he tries to soothe skittish evangelicals here by promising not to be “pastor in chief.”

Someone is going to have to get the testiclular fortitute to sue these media outlets, or certain people within them, for libel. They shouldn't worry about being seen as whining, or about whether they win the lawsuit or not. A lawsuit, or series of lawsuits, would force a public examination of the rampant liberal bias which plagues the news and entertainment media.
No offense Brent, but there's plenty to hit Romeny on...

Why do you feel compelled to put spaces in the words gay and homosexual and gun? Or is this whole thing just a copy and paste job?

guess he couldn't find the rich text editor for bold and underlined.
That aside, this does summarize the problem:
A lot of conservatives will not be energized. Some fundamental christians will be completely turned off. And moderates? They are going to be bombarded by the media and the Obama that Romney is the worst of the 1%. And they will sell that successfully.
So, if Obama was going to lose by a landslide, then Romney might win by a nose. If the race is forecast to be close today, then Romney will lose after he is "Palined." Actually, i think Sarah survived her assault in much better condition than Mitt will.
Oh, i have no issue with Bain or venture capitalism. But right or wrong, 80% of the media will demonize them and Romney. We learned in 2008 that the brainwashing works on the weak minded.
Who is the conservative then/

So who is the conservative candidate that's going to avoid being "Palinized"? My answer would be no one, as I believe anybody who runs against Obama would be Palinized. Maybe you feel otherwise.

THE DEMISE OF JOURNALISM!
Submitted by reelman46 on Mon, 01/16/2012 - 3:28pm.
Journalism was once actually dominated by reporters instead of repeaters. It was once about the pursuit of the whole truth for the people…for actually investigating regardless of the Party or the power or the money.
Now “journalists” are mostly repeaters/re-printers of whatever they get sent by the secular socialists at AP/Reuters. Even in the age of the Web, they do not fact check. They are the arrogant purposeful daily repeaters of distractions, lies and smears. Their mission or agenda is simply to shame or defeat Republicans/conservatives and they are expert at it so the reaction to that has been Talk Radio then FNC. Make no mistake about that.
They are taught in J School (by angry lefties) to save the world (for secular socialism)…as Obama was at Harvard BTW. They are so predictable. All conservatives, Republicans, religious or business leaders and the military get a full biased ripping anal probe. The kook socialists, the moral midget Hollyweird, the parasites and the gov-meant apostles promising platitude machines get a fawning pass full of excuses and blame-shifting (aka its never their policies).
Without the Web and Talk Radio…what would America know of whole truth or the rest of the story deliberately omitted?
Much media is simply a corps of mindless arrogant socialists who want to be exempted from all the pain of socialism but impose it on us…the whole truth does not enter their equation. Their #1 concerns are, “How Can We FRAME this”…(aka spin it by using 2-3 key adjectives to affect opinion) instead of reporting the facts or “what must be omitted we don’t want the people to know”. (aka we don’t like)
The mere fact your local paper still has Doonesbury tells you all you need to know. When angry arrogant 60s socialist utopians (aka unkempt hippies) rip America and anything not lefty…(in the comics no less..lol)…you KNOW for sure that paper is a biased rag.
Now journalists (both print and TV) are rated below used car salesmen, their biased rags are losing money, shrinking, laying off…but they remain clueless. They can’t even admit its partly their constant bias. Sort of like “the good ole days of talk TV” when the “balanced round table” was 3-4 mouthy demo-socialists and one evil Republican/conservative smothered by verbal machine gun attacks limiting the guest to 10% to deny/correct the distractions, lies and smears.
Sort of like “The View” now. This media/journalistic joke appeared as normal and fair to the mainstream TV media then and would also today. They long for those days and wish Obama would make alternatives go away or “play fair”.
Remember you are as dumb as a rock and they are brilliant highly-paid “journalists”..lol.
=====
OMG, Mitt R gave some pocket money to a very needy black woman...this is causing fits of spin...sooo outside the libmedia template...but they sure are trying to spin it as some sort of negative...I kid you not!

... echo my exact sentiments about what the media will do to Romney over the coming months.
It's one of the unfortunate results of having him be in the lead for the nom so early and by so much. It gives plenty of time for media, academia, and, yes, even organs of the state to bash and smear Romney as much as possible, while at the same time pushing and promoting The Big 0 through spin, subterfuge, and outright dereliction of journalistic duty on any stories or events that might reflect badly.
Sadly, like others, I see Obama winning again, barring some unforseen event that would change everything but, truth be told, it would have to be pretty huge. Nothing is going to deter these people from getting their 'dear leader' elected again.
The only upside is that by 2016 things will be so bad people will come back to their senses and run back to the right to save them. One sees this happening all over troubled Europe where countries have moved right, even socialist 'utopias' like Sweden and Denmark, never mind Spain, France, Italy, Greece, etc. They've all realized socialism - even the mild 'euro' kind - does not work. Why don't American Lefties see this? They're supposed to be the smart, well educated ones, right? I mean, what ails them? Why the willful blindness? Is at all about having been outcasts in high school and wanting now to 'get back' at the 'cool kids', no matter what?
Oh well, stupid people like to learn things the hard way, and they'll get plenty of that with The Bumbler in Chief and his sinister coterie of cadres.
