Obama's $1.1 Million Tour Bus Made in Canada
President Obama: Saving or creating manufacturing jobs... in Canada?
The New York Post reported this morning about the custom-made campaign bus, er official government vehicle, that:
The $1.1 million vehicle, one of two that Quebec-based Prevost sold the government, has been tricked out by the Secret Service with state-of-the-art security features and creature comforts.
It's a VIP H3-45 model, the company's top of the line, and is used by major traveling rock bands.
"That's the more luxurious model," Christine Garant of Prevost told The Post.
Canada is a large U.S. trading partner and ally, so on some level it's understandable to give a government contract to a manufacturer north of the border, but given the state of the economy and concerns that President Obama has been ineffective at best on domestic job creation, this should be something the media pick up on and query the White House about.
That is if they have enough time in between reporting on real and imagined Republican presidential candidates' campaign gaffes.

His new favorite self-descriptive phrase has been changed from “I won” to “I whine”.

"Ye canne change the laws of physics....." but some politicians believe that with the right legislation you can pretend they don't really apply to your own pet projects...

That this equipment is not made in the USA should come as no big surprise. After all, some of Mr. Obama's political philosophy has roots in a book published (made in Germany) in the mid-19th century.

I think it's great. Canada rising as Illinois and Michigan sink. A classic case study in liberal marxist philosophy killing the American Dream. Time to fight back, not against Canadians but rather against the communist party apparatus in OUR US government.

Sorry, guys... I know how upsetting this must be for you. You know, I have a cousin who worked on the interior! I almost dis-owned him when I found out about his work.
I'm not supposed to say any of this because its classified, but the thing apperently has rocket launchers built into the headlamps, and 50mm artillary cannons that open up on turrets built into the roof (front and back). The driver even has access to an ejector-seat button on the dash -- hopefully where O-blah-mer sits.

$1.1 million does NOT include the cost of armament, defensive measures or communication systems because the secret service won't release that information, so my guess is these are probably each a $2-2.5 million bus.

It's interesting that this story came out, because one of the first things that I thought about when photos of the forboding, menacing looking over-sized hearsts first came out was 'where were they made, and was it by union labor???'
