WaPo 'On Faith' Panelist: Celebrate Mother's Day with Family Planning!
Mother's Day is around the corner. While the rest of us are agonizing over what to give mom on her special day, the Washington Post religion website "On Faith" sees it as another excuse to bash conservatives for trying to defund Planned Parenthood.
"This Mother's Day, support family planning," urges the teaser headline for Debra Haffner's May 6 post (see below page break for screen capture).
"The national discussion about family planning over the past months has not been about improving women and children’s health but rather about defunding Planned Parenthood, defunding international family planning, cutting funding for Title X programs and women and infant care programs —all at a time when the need for these services greater than ever," she complained.
"Let us all commit to universal access to family planning and health care so that every day can be Mother's Day," Haffner concluded her post.
Haffner a Unitarian minister is perhaps best known for her 12-year stint as executive director of the liberal Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS). She's no stranger to "On Faith," having co-written a defense of Planned Parenthood with evangelical minister Richard Cizik.

What's next? Celebrating Arbor Day...

...by burning down a forrest?
I mean, that makes about as much sense as celebrating Mother's Day by supporting the killing of unborn children.

You have to wonder if, for Father's Day, they will suggest celebrating by having a vasectomy.
Sheesh.

They'd probably say you don't need a father.
When I see Unitarian I go the other way. I consider them to be a cult. They are on the far, far, left of the religion spectrum.

I have a friend who's a Unitarian, and we went on a car trip together several years ago, While we were driving along a street looking for a place to eat, there was a guy on the street corner holding up a "John 3:16" sign. My unitarian friend asked me "What's that John 3:16 thing about anyway?" He actually didn't have a clue what it was. I asked him if he ever read a Bible in church and he said no, they never use the Bible in the Unitarian church. They are very heavy into social justice and extreme left wing politics. So you are quite accurate when referring to them as a cult. He's a wonderful friend, but the Unitarians are about as far from christianity as you can get.

Wouldn't suprise me in the least.
Honestly, I find myself rarely surprised these days at the sheer lunacy these brain-damaged twits come up with.
LOL - I suppose next Christmas they will be suggesting we celebrate by blowing Santa Claus right out of the sky.

-- Maximusbraveheart -- Is TRUTH knowable? Moral Relativism is the abandonment of Truth. Truth is knowable. Truth conforms to Reality. Reality is observable by evidence & witness in this day & from history. Relativism is Sesame Street play land.

Unitarian - one whose mind is so open that everything has fallen out; characterized by violent knee jerks, bizarre relativistic mutterings, and excessive quests for other people's money, especially via taxation; a fool or buffoon.

What went wrong with Haffner?

I just wonder what failures in parenting, education and/or environment caused Debra Haffner's perspectives to be so skewed. Perhaps if we can determine that, then we could take steps to avoid so many of these people from being this backward and upside down in their thinking.
For her to take Mother's Day of all times to advance such an anti-mother organization as Planned Parenthood is pretty jaw dropping. -bidn-
