Fox Entertainment Network Denies Super Bowl Slot to 'John 3:16' Ad Buy
Apparently the Fox entertainment network, which will broadcast Super Bowl XLV on Sunday, rejected an ad for LookUp316.com, as in the biblical verse John 3:16, because it "[advances] particular beliefs or practices." [h/t Big Hollywood]
However the ad itself -- see the embedded video below -- doesn't proselytize, it merely depicts a man watching a football game looking up "John 3:16" on his smart phone's Web browser after seeing the verse referenced in a player's eye black.
"LookUp316.com: A Message of Hope," reads the commercial's closing frames.

Like the extra-super-special episode of Glee following the SB is not proselytizing.

as the actor with the smart phone is Black, and the message does have a religious tinge, though they might pass on commenting on the religious aspect, either Reverend Al or ol' Jesse J. will be all over the racists at FOX for declining this advertising gambit only because it features a dark complexion, dontcha know. That's it, and they canned

That's it, and they canned it? Well Fox is a business and made a business decision. They have every right to discriminate based on their policies. Is it wrong to do this, probably but I am sure there are plenty of advertisers wanting a Superbowl slot and some are not going to make the cut.
