O'Reilly Factor's Jesse Watters Interviews NPR Exec Who Sacked Juan Williams
Last night Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly aired an ambush interview that "O'Reilly Factor" producer Jesse Watters sprung on Vivian Schiller, National Public Radio's president.
Last week, Schiller fired Williams over the phone in reaction to a comment the Fox News contributor made on the October 18 edition of O'Reilly's eponymous program.
Schiller, no stranger to cable news -- she used to head up CNN's documentary division -- also put her foot in her mouth last week by flippantly dismissing Williams's comments on the "Factor" as something he should have kept between himself and his psychiatrist.

Schiller has since apologized for that remark and noted her apology during the Watters ambush interview.

I just wanted to note that I saw an MRC "Tell the Truth" truck today! Don't know who was piloting, but this afternoon, maybe 4:30ish, one was heading north on 29 and exited onto 40 east in Howard County, MD.
Nice to see it out there!

You live in Maryland, bkeyser? I live in Takoma Park.

According to my sister, in Mt Airy, you live in the middle of "Indian Territory." Keep your powder dry!

I'm not too far from Mt. Airy. Used to live there myself for a brief period in '80-'81. I'm a little farther north now though, but same county (assuming your sister is in Carroll, since Mt. Airy has parts in Frederick and Howard counties...)

Yep. Westminster, Carroll County. Though I was working in Silver Spring off of Randolph Road today, right near 29. Was heading home up 29 toward 70 when I saw the truck. Any idea where it was heading. As I said, it exited off of 29 onto 40 east in Ellicott City.
The People's Republic of Takoma Park, huh? Don't know how you do it, Ken! LOL

I grew up right down 29, in Columbia. Folks still live in Ellicott City.
Used to eat at the Forrest diner a lot, right there on 40, I noticed they either re-opened it, or it's still open last time I was up.

I have an active job 5 minutes from the Forrest Diner off of Centenial Lane. And I used to work for a Builder in Columbia, right off of Broken Land Parkway so i know the area really well. I assume you're familiar with Merriweather, then?

I grew up in Severn. Rent's cheap at the complex my wife and Iive in. Good for saving up for a house.
Takoma Park is nice, politics aside, but it's impossible for us to get a house here. Way too expensive.
Mt. Airy is pretty sweet. It'd be nice to live up that way but the commute to work would suck.

Could we keep one of those trucks in kind of a permanent residency status here in MD? I am sure we could give them photo ops most every day!!!

Here is a note I wrote to O'Reilly last night. These were wrong when 60 Minutes did them and they are wrong today. "It's time to end the "attack interviews" by Jesse Waters and others. They make me cringe. I DON'T WANT to feel sympathetic towards Vivian Schiller!"So O'Reilly ends them; will "60 minutes"?
Submitted by TheHistorian on Wed, 10/27/2010 - 6:16am.
Whether they make you cringe or not, they are a tool that is used by the left, al a "60 minutes", CBS News (when they used to do some semblance of news) and others of the lieberal media. To cringe and call out O'Reilly for them is not a good idea. The left needs to undedrstand that their own tools can and will be used against them. For example, I hope the Republicans in the House use Nancy Pelosi's rules intact so that the Democrats get a sample of how it works against them.
Look at President Bush. You never then (and even now) have heard him speak ill of the Clinton or the Obama administrations and the mess that Clinton left him, and the mess that Pelosi/Reid caused after 2006. Yet has that stopped Obama's whining and Clinton's and Carter's bloviating? No.
Until conservatives use the whole quiver of the left's tools against them, they will continue to behaive like the self-righteous twits that they are and continue to use these tools. Only when you demonstrate that you are not afraid to wrestle with them using their own rules against them will they possibly return to civilized behavior.

Precisely.
Use at the very least the same weapons as your opponent, better weaponry if you have it, otherwise, you may as well enter the arena unarmed.
That is not only self-destructive, it is pointless; a terrible waste of time and resources, and a sure route to disaster.

I don't think this type of interview is effective because it tends to create sympathy for the "victim". Maybe I'm the only one affected that way, but I'm sure not known for being a "bleeding heart"!

It's too bad Jesse didn't think to bring along a couple of Muslim's dressed in traditional garb. Vivian would have shown her hypocrisy by running away, screaming like a little girl.
