MSNBC, the self-proclaimed "place for politics" is well-known for its pro-Obama boosterism, from Chris Matthews's "tingles" to on-air talent Ed Schultz's persistent bully pulpit-pounding for the so-called "public option."

But it's not just the on-camera talent that has all the fun cheerleading liberal policies. It seems a promotional ad narrator for MSNBC also does voiceover work for a pro-ObamaCare group, Health Care for America Now (HCAN).

I noticed the HCAN ad at 11:20 a.m. EDT today and worked up a mashup featuring excerpts of the HCAN ad and a promo for tonight's MSNBC programming.

NBC Universal's Alana Russo informed NewsBusters via e-mail that MSNBC's announcers are freelancers, "not in-house staff employees." Asked if there were any "contractual limitations" barring those freelancers from "doing political ads while under contract with MSNBC," Russo answered that "[t]hey do not have exclusive contracts with MSNBC."

Whatever consolidates leftist power. "public option" is just their fastest route to total domination of the US right now.

Should we be so surprised?

Shazbot!

My guess is the guy is on

My guess is the guy is on loan. Not sure who has the rights though...

Dependent Contractor

Of course, they'll all say the voice-over guy is an independent contractor who can do work for anyone he wants, but the point I think Ken is making is, when the Administration goes looking for "talent," they don't have to go outside. They've got an in-house theatrical television network full of actors playing the parts of news people, smart commentators, and announcers.

Freelancers...

Most announcers are freelancers. I've heard the Fox News Channel announcer doing V.O.s for non Fox stations.

I really don't see the story here. You have an announcer, who does V.O. work for MSNBC, who's free to take a job wherever the money is, being hired to do V.O work by a group that wants Health Care reform. Yeah, so?

It's all so blurred now, it

It's all so blurred now, it doesn't even matter anymore. MSNBC is probably as pro-Obama as any pro-Obama group - independent or paid for - probably even more so.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

I'm reaching the next

I'm reaching the next stage-acceptance.

One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 86% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory.
