"[W]e've got to be journalists. We've got to keep the facts straight."
That's Chris Matthews referring to the professional standards governing his "Hardball" program in an MSNBC promo that aired in a commercial break halfway through the program's August 6 edition.
You can view the video below the page break.

MSNBC Comedy Hour
August 6, 2009 - 17:38 ET by SeftonA new comedy, obviously. Because that was hilarious.
HAHAHAHAHA
August 6, 2009 - 17:41 ET by jacktheripperthat's satire right??
Chrissy swallows alright
"I LOVE DEAD KENNEDY'S"
Hahahahahaha
August 6, 2009 - 18:17 ET by KellyRYeah, and we know WHAT he swallows. A failed democratic hack like him and a journalist have about as much in common as a $0.50 hooker and the Queen of England.
He's a dimwit and an Obama whore.
They Missed the Best Part
August 6, 2009 - 17:40 ET by sergeant stogieThey obviously edited out the part at the end of the sentence "We've got to keep our facts straight" which continues "because we make most of this crap up and it's our job to make sure the President succeeds".
Idiots. Liars.
Did they call an exterminator or something?
August 6, 2009 - 17:58 ET by JTPThat place was infested last time I watched it.
Now I know why he spits so much... He swallowed too much.

I noticed something about Chris:
August 6, 2009 - 17:49 ET by FeynmanFanThe man has no shame.
Matthews? "Keep the facts
August 6, 2009 - 17:50 ET by TEMatthews? "Keep the facts straight"? ROTFLMAO!
Matthews is the uber leftist loon who alleged on his unwatched freak show that Paul Wolfowitz cooked up a conspiracy in the bowels of the Pentagon to funnel a dog collar to Pvt. Lyndie England in Iraq with orders for England to place said dog collar around the neck of an Iraqi prisoner.
"Facts" indeed.
Advertising versus Propaganda
August 6, 2009 - 17:51 ET by Retired GeekAdvertising implicitly or explicitly leads the listener or viewer to think you 'Should have This' product or service.
Propaganda implicitly or explicitly leads the listener or viewer to believe you should 'Think This'.
Critical thinkers would NEVER take any Government or Politician at its word, especially this Administration.
One of the reasons Government and Politicians lie, distort the truth and use 'Propaganda' is because they represent special interest groups or causes and NOT the American Citizens.
This Administration gives the 'Impression' that it loves and has great compassion for Humanity, but loathes and detests Individuals who make up Humanity because clandestinely they are betraying them.
The Barack Obama Administration 'Promised' it would be the most 'Transparent' Administration in American History, but instead may be the least 'Transparent' Administration in American History
The less transparent a Government or Administration becomes, the more it has to hide.
Propaganda, distortions and lies are the only recourse when trying to convince the American Citizens to support and implement their 'Hidden Agendas'.
There are clearly two major components in everything this Administration does, 'Reward' everyone who supports this Administration with 'Freebies' and 'Punish' everyone who does NOT support this Administration by making them 'Pay for the Freebies'.

Oh, please. There are higher standards in a two-bit whore house.
The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.
Tired of Liberal Lies I
August 7, 2009 - 00:34 ET by stunnedTired of Liberal Lies
I started laughing when I watch the promo and continued to laugh reading great posts but yours won hands down, "two-bit whore house"!! LOL But really does anyone but his Dem underground following take "tingles" whose job is to "make this administration work" seriously as a journalist anymore?
August 6, 2009 - 18:19 ET by jessieHProfessional Standards!?? I guess that was before the Koolaid! Somebody is putting a LOT, and I mean a LOT, of pressure on the MSM. Either that or they are using some kind of extortion on these people. A lot of them used to be on top, the best of the best, when it came to journalism. It's really sad that we can't trust the Fourth Estate anymore. I hope history is respectful when we find out the truth. Angry Mob!

August 6, 2009 - 20:17 ET by motherbeltIt's not our job to swallow the BS.
No, Chrissy; you've stated that It's my job to make sure the President succeeds.
Assignment: Write a 500 word essay explaining how both of those statements can be true.
Chrissy's I have a dream speech
August 6, 2009 - 20:28 ET by acumen"[W]e've got to be journalists. We've got to keep the facts straight."
The only thing missing was Andy Williams singing The Impossible Dream in the background.
Chris Matthews: "My job is to make this presidency successful."

Facts? Those are the things that Obama hands out. All else is lies, distortion, the acts of obstructionist, racist, mobs paid for and bussed in by K street lobbyists...Whatever the hell they are.
We have one happening here in Alaska in Anchorage on the 10th of August. Our legislature is going to attempt to override the Governors veto which kept the Feds from throwing tax dollars at us. Or more properly stated, kept the Socialists from getting what they see as, "free money". The strings attached are invisible to their eyes and look like huge steel cables to me.
I think they're in for a surprise. Normally they hide in Juneau which can only be reached by air or ferry. (We voted to move it numerous times but somehow it just never happened. Go figure.) This time they get to face their oft ignored constituency, and they're pissed.
islam is a lie and Truth is killing it.
I was looking through some
August 6, 2009 - 21:32 ET by BKeyserI was looking through some of the MSNBC archival photos when I came across this little gem...
