Ted Nugent Blasts Gun Free Zones As 'Forced Victimization'

Gun control policies wrought by the likes of liberal Sens. Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Schumer (D-N.Y.) amount to "cruel indecency and forced victimization" argues rocker Ted Nugent in an April 20, 2009 column in U.S. News & World Report.

With the election of Barack Obama, the 10th anniversary of Columbine, the second anniversary of Virginia Tech, and the media's ongoing fixation on a faulty "90 percent" statistic of U.S. guns seized in Mexican drug crimes, the MSM has found a second wind for the gun control after it was virtually moribund post-9/11.

But the intensified interest in the media for gun control is only certain to energize gun rights and self-defense advocates like Nugent, who takes no prisoners and blows away political correctness in bluntly addressing what's at stake with liberals pushing more gun control:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

It is indeed Ted Kennedy's gun ban dream of GunFreeZones that have proven to be the guaranteed slaughter zones where the most innocent lives are lost. Think Columbine, VA Tech, Lane Bryant, NW IL University, Luby's Cafeteria, NJ, Salt Lake City, and Omaha malls, Calgary University, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Flight 93, the mayor's office in San Francisco, ad nauseam. Peace and love will get you killed, and unarmed helplessness is bad. Unless of course your anthem goes baaa..... baaa...... baaa.

So why in God's good name would any human being wish to force unarmed helplessness on another? That level of cruel indecency and forced victimization is incomprehensible to me and about 100,000,000 Americans who own guns. Self-defense is the most powerful, driving instinct of good people everywhere. To deny this is evil personified. Write this down—GunFreeZones are a felon's playgrounds. Ban GunFreeZones now.

Good people don't want the rapist to succeed. We want him dead. We don't want our homes invaded. We want invaders dead. We don't like carjackers. We like them dead. We don't like armed robbers. We like them dead.

We have examined all the evidence we need to know that calling 911 is a joke, unless of course they bring a dustpan and a mop to clean up the dead monster we just shot while protecting our family.

Nuge is on to something. As we at NewsBusters can attest, the media's call for more gun control is often coupled with a patronizing liberal view of the average American that he/she is not capable of confidently, safely, and competently handling a gun for self-defense. Invariably pro-gun control bias in the media denigrates the rights and responsibilities of private citizens while holding forth liberal politicians as guardians of public safety, standing up boldly to a shadowy "gun lobby."

There was a rumor that Ted was going to run for Gov. of Michigan.  I might have to move back there.

Ted!

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but he did say at the San Antonio Tea Party last week, "Now I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could!"  :-)

Perhaps the best part of his speech at the Alamo?  "Most importantly, you (Texans) have more GUNS per capita!"

Advocates of "Gun Free Zones" are just creating victims for the predators that will lurk whatever the law says.  Just remember, V-Tech was a "Gun Free Zone" and so was Colombine.  Just look at how safe it made them.  My deepest sympathies for the victims at those places, BUT, they were set up as victims by the very politicians that want to do this to other trusting Americans.  Nowhere in the second amendment does it say "shall not be infringed, UNLESS, or EXCEPT...  It's "THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED." PERIOND, END OF STATEMENT, NO EXCEPTPTIONS....

Anyone else see the parallels between the liberals' attempts at 'gun control' and the the Bamster's narcissistic gobbledygook about (unilateral) nuclear disarmament?

gun control?????????????

Kennedy"s Car has killed more people than my gun. When they do away with the second admendment ; let the games begin. Then we will see how many weapons the liberals have. I, for one refuse to give up any of my god given rights. Tea bag the liberals!!!!!!

Brutally honest

Ted's the man. I'll be at the range tomorrow practicing my gun control.

I don't think I have ever

I don't think I have ever listened to Ted Nugent unless it was in the background or something; however, I really have learned to admire this guy's blunt wisdom.

forced victimization

Now that's a great phrase. Ted doesn't want people to be victims and neither did the Forefathers.

seems to me we need box knife control.

I joined the NRA last month for the first time.  I am not a hunter, but I do believe in the second amendment.  I found a link on Drudge and it only cost $25.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
Thank you Ted for speaking up!!

Good on ya, Moonstruck.

Good on ya, Moonstruck.  We need more people to recognize that, whether you own guns or not, the Second Amendment protects you and we need to protect it.

"Gun Free Countries"

Have produced 100-200 million murders in the 20th century. Obviously that isn't enough for our liberal friends.

It's odd that all the murders are associated with countries that practice the teaching of Karl Marx. Really odd. I wonder what it is that goes wrong in Marxism's paradise.

In terms of gun control,

In terms of gun control, there is only one anniversary that matters, and it isn't the one for the Columbine or Virginia Tech shootings... it's the one for the huge defeat for Democrats and loss of control of the Congress following the passage of the Assault Weapons Ban.  That's what's going to drive Democrats enmasse going forward.

Select idiots like Schumer can talk about bans all they want, but there's not going to be much support across the board from their fellow Libs.

Ted is right on the money.

Ted is right on the money. I live in the biggest "gun free zone" in this country. It is called Illinois. It's worth noting that last summer more Americans died as a result of gun violence in Chicago than did in Bagdhad. Keep in mind that Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country.  How can this be if gun control is effective?  When it comes down to it, gun control laws are the very death sentences that the left claims to so oppose - except they are carried out against the innocent victims of criminals' actions.

The Ninth circuit in California issued a ruling that will soon see much of this gun control foolishness curtailed. Second amendment rights supporters are finally winning, so keep up the good fight! The days of runing roughshod over our firearm rights are coming to an end!

That an individual right exists requires that some policy positions be removed from the table of debate.

The crux of the biscuit...

"Keep in mind that Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country.  How can this be if gun control is effective?"

That's the blunt fact. The cities with the most restrictive gun laws have some of the highest gun-crime rates. It's an "inconvenient truth" that the gun-grabbers have to ignore.

The law is far, the fist is near

Here is another horrifying fact for gun control freaks: Switzerland is very full of guns.  It's male population is essentially a standing army.  They are required to own either the SIG 7.5mm Stgw or the 5.56mm SG 550/551.  Yet the crime rate there is very low.  No one likes to break into homes in Switzerland for some odd reason.

Ditto Israel.  Street crime there is a rarity as well.  But then, Israel is also very full of guns.

Gee, why is this?

Moving

One of the reasons I have stayed in KY is do to the fact that right across the river in IN they have some of the most assinine  gun laws.  Basically you can own a gun at your home but you can never take it anywhere without being in violation of a slew of laws.  I found that out when I went to a Dermitologist office right across the river.  I won't ever do that again, nor will IN get my hard earned cash.  This goes for the stores and businesses that want to post no weapons allowed when I am a legal CCDW permit holder.

"For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security."

Indianans have it good compared to Illinoisans

I guess you won't be visiting or doing any business in Illinois either then Utherpend. You won't be bothered by "no weapons allowed" signs because nobody is allowed to carry weapons of any kind anywhere. In law, 'possession' outside your own property is deemed and punished as an 'unlawful use'. And you better have the state issued Firearms Identification Card (FOID) available for presentation at all times. If you don't have a current one to show, then you will also be punished and your firearms will be confiscated. If you do not have a FOID card, you are not legally allowed topurchase or own any firearms and you cannot even buy .22 ammunition.

There is no such thing as a concealed carry permit here and if a cop sees you carrying a gun you are arrested, you get fined, you go to jail, you forfeit your firearm and you lose your right to own firearms altogether.

Maybe Indiana isn't so bad after all, huh? Welcome to the Obamland.

Impeachment

Any elected official or Constitutional officer who seeks to infringe the right of the people to keep and -bear- arms of a military nature (militia)  (and train - "well-regulated") which are not to be infringed should be immediately faced with impeachment procedings.

Which part of "shall not be infringed" do they have trouble understanding?

I am a little confused

Utherpend in KY - I am sorry to hear you had trouble in Indiana.  However, Indiana and Ky, as with other states, has a reciprocating carry permit allowance.  Did you not have a carry permit when you went to Indiana?  What were the circumstances?  I would be very interested in hearing about your difficulty, as a citizen of Indiana and a carry permit holder.

BTW - you can read a synopsis of the Indiana gun laws in the following link.

Uncle Ted's got our back

I guess that's why he's doing well commercially in music, and writing, and other projects, instead of needing to kiss @ss to get a little face-time on MSM networks attacking American values or putting some flash in the pan anti-Bush CD together.

This means unfortunately we see less of Mr. Nugent than the Barf-afalos in the press, but what we do see, is all the more awesome.
