FNC's Shep Smith: If We Taxed Inaugural Parade Carbon, Would Be Expensive

"The thing I noticed... the smell change.  You can smell the fuel. There's a very large carbon footprint out here. Were we taxing this, it would be expensive," Fox New Channel anchor Shepard Smith quipped to colleague Neil Cavuto, in live coverage from Washington shortly before 4 p.m. on Inauguration Day.

Smith and Cavuto were watching the slow-moving presidential limousine make its way down Pennsylvania Avenue to the presidential parade reviewing stand.

Generally I like Shep even though his liberalism will occasionally overload his inquiring, curious, and humorous mind. As it just did! He just made the absurd claim that the terrorists/detainees at Gitmo:

"who have never been charged with anything, who have never had a lawyer, who have never been through any kind of a process which is granted not by this country but by our creator according to the constitution are going to get that chance now and its long overdue."

Where to start? His absurd claim that these killers are granted a "God given" right by our constitution is logically false. If God gives, I cannot give, nor any piece of paper. There must be a proper Latin term for the logic involved. After this initial disposal of his absurd claim I still wonder where in the Constitution he thinks these terrorists, picked up on battlefields or any other place are granted any rights. They are killers, lawful and unlawful enemy combatants,and men who have for the most part promised to return to old habits if released, as 30% have already. It is the courts that have granted these terrorists rights. The courts that ignored precedent (think Lincoln, Roosevelt). I will wait with great anticipation to see just what Pres. Obama does with the detainees. This will be the first defining moment for him. We wait.

BTW: Right after that Bob Beckel made a crack about Foxnews viewers not thinking its a good idea to have a "leader" or "ideals". Anyone catch what he was trying to mumble about people that watch Fox?

Smith makes seven million a year for misreading his script, mashing our language, demonstrating his ignorance, and spewing "liberal" tripe. Of course he and the rest of the jerks on the left (and in the middle) don't give a damn if goverment raises taxes on the average American. Young Americans in my family (and millions of others) are out of work, wondering how to pay their mortgages or even buy food for their tables. Meanwhile, clowns like Smith are living large and telling them to slave a liitle more for the most corrupt government in the history of this nation. What did this "inauguration" cost--- two hundred mil? I am so disgusted at our media and our government. Is there one of them who is not a millionaire? Heard one of them (John Scott, I believe) on Fox after the recent plane crash. He was talking about his little private plane and how difficult it is to navigate at times. Oh, poor John.

When are the American people going to wake up? Apathy and ignorance are killing us.
