MSNBC, Starbucks Brew Up Obama Watching Parties

Are you a latte liberal who can't make the pilgrimage to D.C. for the Obama inauguration? Or do you think that if you did, you'd in the January chill without your mid-day brew? Well, MSNBC is looking out for you!

The Obama leg-thrill network has teamed up with Starbucks Coffee to open more than 600 java joint locations in New York City, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Not into coffee? MSNBC also has movie theaters dedicated to the ceremony, although sitting next to Chris Matthews in a dark room watching Obama sounds a little sketchy to me.

On a related note, Starbucks is far from the only corporate coffee/dessert chain to bend over backwards hailing the Obama inauguration. Apparently even Krispy Kreme, hardly a stereotypically left-wing hideout, is gushy over Obama, at least across the Pond:

All week, Krispy Kreme doughnut shops in Britain have been offering free cafe Americanos to those -- American or not -- who walk up to the counter and say Obama's trademark slogan, "Yes, we can!"

I've already said it, but

I've already said it, but damn the bad luck!

I won't be able to see the grand coronation, because I will have a colonoscopy and then maybe a root canal scheduled for that day.

I'm sorry, but the rest of

I'm sorry, but the rest of us will be WORKING!!!

As I mentioned yesterday,

As I mentioned yesterday, Blockbuster is going to be my very best friend on coronation day.  And as I own my very own Keurig K-cup coffee maker, I don't have to go anywhere except my kitchen for the best coffee in town.

So alas, I won't be watching even one second of the event unless I'm kidnapped, strapped to a guerney and injected with Succinylcholine - a particularly nasty neuromuscular blocker.

Liberal Flypaper

These parties should be considered liberal flypaper. Only the worst sort of stereotypical liberals would be caught dead in a Starbucks on inauguration day, so these places should be quarantined. The parking lot will look like a Volvo dealership.

P.S.  I think I may know

P.S.  I think I may know where some of the vast amounts of inaugural festivities budget is going:  to pay the extras (a la epic Hollywood movie) to sit in the stands and look enraptured (or maybe constipated) as the chosen one ascends to the heights that his ego doesn't consider sufficiently lofty for his greatness.

(excuse me, I must have eaten a bad Snickers bar because suddenly I am overcome with nausea.)

The Starbucks, the non-political company

Starbucks: Israel and Jews suck, so we got outta there in 2003, but we still just love Egypt, Kuwait, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Jordan and Lebanon...

A Jewish friend of mine

A Jewish friend of mine who's been to Israel says Israelis, for whatever reason, LOVE instant coffee and are by no means coffee fiends. She said it took her a while to find decent coffee at a shop owned by a Turkish gentleman.

So I dunno, maybe Israelis are just not that much into coffee places, and/or maybe SBUX doesn't want to deal with the insurance and security hassles of runnings shops that are favored suicide bombing targets.

who knew?

I think SBUX is ridiculously overpriced and definitely not the best coffee around by any means, but instant??? That's a shocker.

Then again, I guess the odds of a Lebanese or Jordanian SBUX being bombed by a suicidal Jew are pretty nonexistent.

Rank Capitalists

From a profit point of view, there are more Jew-hating Arabs and Eastern Europeans than Jews from which to make money selling coffee.

Starbucks is using Alshaya Group to tap the larger anti-semetic market for profit, and Alshaya Group can not be as successful, I surmise, in their region of influence if they are connected with Jews.

On another note, an Israeli friend affirmed Ken's post about Israeli's preferring instant coffee (Nescafe) over brewed coffee.  They do have expresso and Turkish coffee but swear the excellence of instant over fresh brewed coffee.  His friends bring the coffee to the States when they visit so they can have their "superior" coffee.

Well, I'm going to celebrate as well..

Proletariats Unite!

It is great to see two failing organizations unite to serve the splendors of the One.

Maybe their combined assets (losses) will allow them a better stance at getting some of the free, free money!

Hope they get it soon, as it keeps depreciating in value!

Losers.

Two companies I do not do business with since, forever.

Folger's Crystals is looking

Folger's Crystals is looking good to me again.  Maybe Maxwell House.  Screw Starbucks.

I've never been to

I've never been to starbucks. When did they start serving koolaid? I think I'll trim my dogs nails on coronation day, unless I hear shots have been fired in DC.

Has anyone noticed that MLK

Has anyone noticed that MLK got swept under the bus for the Big O's corronation? All that team Big O talks about is Abe Lincoln.

I can't watch as I have to learn to program my VCR...I've put it off for far too long now.

Mmmmm...made me want some

Mmmmm...made me want some coffee...Astor instant coffee from Winn-Dixie.  $4.50 or so a jar and a whole month of coffee gratification.

Screw Starbucks.
