Newsweek Still Dancing for Joy Over Anti-Bush Shoe-throwing Incident

Photo of Ken Shepherd.

Yesterday, Newsweek's daily Conventional Wisdom feature assigned a down-arrow to President Bush over Sunday's now-infamous shoe-throwing incident, wherein the outgoing President dodged two shoes chucked at him by an Iraqi journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi. The flailing newsmagazine noted that al-Zaidi was "out of line," but was simply expressing the sentiments of many an Iraqi who wish they could "vote with their feet."

Today Newsweek continued to try to milk the incident for maximum Bush-bashing potential by assigning an up-arrow to al-Zaidi:

why are people so stupid?

Is it so hard to understand that whether you support Pres. Bush, or not, when someone throw's a shoe at OUR  president, it is a shoe thrown at ALL of us. It is an attack on all of us. I'll bet if the shoe was on the other foot, {couldn't resist}, and it was thrown at Pres. Obama, it would a whole different can of shoe polish.

I suppose if the new trend

I suppose if the new trend will be to throw something nasty at our politicians let me be the first to start chunking copies of Newsweek.

You know

You know, they really have nothing better to report on.

Blago/Obama connection - denied, so there's no story here.

Palin's Church Burned - Hey, that's all the way up in Alaska - no one wants to hear about that.

9-year-old writes to Santa and asks for molestation to stop.  Nope, no story here.

Best thing to write is something bashing GWB!  Now THAT'S NEWS, folks!

"If we conservatives moved to those seven non-existent States, the government couldn’t find us and tax us to death!"

What the H does it say

What the H does it say about Newsweek that this guy gets a thumbs-up from them?

Would they have the same reaction to a pro-life protester throwing a shoe at Obama?

I'm so mad I can't even see straight.  These people should be ashamed to call themselves Americans.

Oh, wait!!  They are!!

Throwing at Obama?

The only danger Obama faces when having a press conference with the MSM, is that he may suffocate from the pile of panties thrown at him.

(Chris Matthews' panties alone could do some serious injury!)

Newsqueak squeaks again...

Totally consistent, you gotta give 'em that, the libnews twits.

No mention of the huge segments of Iraqi society that are ashamed of the affront to their proud cultural mandate of hospitality.

Also no comparison of this new-found (and expensively-purchased) freedom to dissent versus the "good old days" before the "occupation" and how such "audience participation" would have been handled by Saddam and his thugs.

Yup, lots to celebrate in this event, except the Libs are as usual looking through the wrong end of the telescope to actually understand and appreciate it.

Seems the MSM is starring in it own ongoing soap opera -- Daze of Our Lives......

if they're this happy over shoes thrown

..imagine their glee had it been grenades or molotov cocktails.

"to call an illegal immigrant an "undocumented alien" is the same as calling a streetcorner drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist".

"You spend your money anyway you want and respect other's rights to do the same"

UC... Exactly....unfortuna

UC...

Exactly....unfortunately that is what a lot of people in this country wanted to see.

When you have the nattering nabobs reporting their pity for the ungrateful enemy that threw the shoes...it tells you all you really need to know.

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

Sigh

I'm at a loss for words. A prominent mag cheering on the culprit who assaulted our President.

No kidding.  I thought I

No kidding.  I thought I had seen it all yesterday; but this really takes the cake.

I am trying to E-Mail

I am trying to E-Mail Newsweek, but I can't figure out how to send them one.  Can someone help me?  A link or something to write these no-good yellow-bellied cowards.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Here you go

One newscast I saw commented...

...that in the middle east, the throwing of a show at somebody is a sign of great disrespect.  Um, as if that would be an act of endearment in America?

Duh.

Lybian first daughter

Isn't Lybia where one of the first battles involving U.S. Marines took place? "...to the shores of Tripoli"?

My (caucasian) friend grew up there. His family had to pay a tax for not being Muslim and to stay alive. They kill you if you don't pay the tax, naturally.

Gettting a medal from them is like a pat on the back from Al-Quaida.

Obama, pathological nacissist: http://www.faithfree...

This is infuriating!!!

Writing something like that deserves a butt-kicking. I cannot even imagine that these "journalists" think this is acceptable--Giving a thumbs down to our President for dodging shoes being thrown, and a thumbs up to the @$$-clown who threw them? You know, W could've had the Secret Service handle this real quickly, but he didn't. This shows his class and belief in free speech, even in the face of adversity.

Once Obama and his idiots have this country where they want it, the whole of western civilization will have far more than shoes thrown at us. They will whine for the USA to help but we won't be able to. These countries only think they want us weak. God, please have mercy on us.

“I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal.” --Barack Obama

Punishment

The shoe thrower should have his press card revoked. Then he should be placed before a firing squad. The squad will not have guns, but boxes of shoes.

When it as all done and he has been humiliated , (per Arabic custom), the NY Times can hire him as a travel journalist.
