Liberal Activist on California Prop 8: If Only Lots of Old Voters Died Before Election

If only elderly voters in California would die off in large enough numbers before November 4, then the final nail could be hammered in the coffin of California Proposition 8, a ballot initiative that would define marriage as between a man and a woman. That according to liberal activist Kristina Wilfore, the executive director of the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, "an advocacy organization that specializes in using ballot initiatives to further liberal causes." Her comments were buried deep inside Michael Lindenberger's October 21 item at Time.com:

Wilfore says she's prepared to take the long view in California. "I am not going to be discouraged if we lose," she says. Victory will come over time in the courts, as demographics works its influence on the nation's voting patterns, she says, noting that young people support gay marriage far more than their parents and grandparents do. "A lot of people are going to have to die" before Election Day is an easy day for gay marriage, she says.

While Wilfore was not wishing for the deaths of thousands of elderly conservative voters per se, one can imagine the ire the media would focus on such a statement of say a conservative activist annoyed with elderly voters blocking Social Security reforms.

Lindenberger quoted Wilfore in the penultimate paragraph of his article, using the final graf to herald the in-your-face activist liberalism of the mayor of San Francisco, who violated the Golden State's laws on marriage in a famous 2004 act of civil disobedience:

But not everyone has such patience. San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom, whose office has officiated over marriage ceremonies for thousands of gays since the California Supreme Court decision, told TIME recently that he thinks the outcome of the marriage vote will impact far more than just who can marry and who can't. "We're going to have a chance to find out whether America, and California, is ready for the change embodied in Barack Obama's campaign," said Newsom. "Or does it simply stop with him?" The country will know soon enough.

Dead People

Don't dead people vote Democrat in many states?

They do here Alan - 100%

They do here Alan - 100%

They also do in Wa. State

They also do in Wa. State too, especially King Co. and they will again, and nothing will be done about this....

Go Rossi...good luck, you are going to need it...again, although YOU WON the last time...the leftists and all their cheating filth will be doing the same thing to you again...

As to the loving leftist side of the aisle for more people to die for the demographics to change so they can get their gay marriage legal in Ca. aren't they just precious little creatures...

Archeological Find

Isn't King County the location of that amazing archeological find of "lost ballots" that changed the winner in the Governors race?  Amazing!!

You missed the boat...

That's not nearly the only egregious portion of what you posted.... Any doubt on the Liberal Activist courts was in this line:

Victory will come over time in the courts

"Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy."   - Winston Churchill

It's not just the old

It's not just the old people.  I'm counting on something liberal activists never acknowledge and that is there are two otherwise Democratic constituents who nevertheless vehemently oppose gay marriage:  blacks and Latinos.  I can't imagine many Asian voters would be crazy about it either.

As for the courts, it's par for the course.  Even if Prop 8 passes, I'm sure the Imperialists in black will find some way to worm around it.

Funny how with all of this "greater acceptance" of the idea of gay marriage, it hasn't been voted into effect by a single state.  All three states where it is currently "legal" enacted it by judicial fiat.

Legislating from the bench...

...because they cannot accept the will of the people.  "Victory will come over time in the courts," says all we need to know.  It's just one more example of how Democrats really don't trust democracy.

If I'm not mistaken, Prop 8 would actually ammend the California constitution, thus handcuffing the California Supreme Court from overturning the inconvenient "will of people" thing.

"Our liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain." Official Motto of the State of Iowa

Not only do they seem to

Not only do they seem to not trust democracy, they seem to loathe it!

Why Obama Scares The Crap Out Of Me

Making Fun of AGW http://giovanniworld.wordpress.com/

Only three possible permutations

Penis + vagina = marriage.

Penis + penis = civil union.

Vagina + vagina = civil union.

Get over it.

The will of the people counts for nothing?

The will of the people counts for nothing? The arrogance of the courts is just astounding!

That's only if young people keep thinking the same way

When young people grow up, they tend to stop thinking like young people and start thinking like adults. Children tend to accept what their liberal teachers teach, until those principles wind up failing out in the real world. That's when they re-examine those principles and think again.

What this woman is essentially saying is that she hopes that the electorate adopts an adolescent point of view. Great. That'll be such a good thing. MTV shaping policy. Just great.

Children tend to accept what their liberal teachers teach

KC I have a very close and loving relationship with my 9 year old granddaughter. She was visiting me the other day and  informed me that I was mean because I had a yes on prop 8 sign in my yard. She informed me that there is nothing wrong with two people in love getting married and it is only fair. Her final remark to me was that Gay means happy and why was I trying to hurt these people that just wanted to be happy!  These ideas are being pushed in grade school here in California and reinforced by their favorite stars on TV. They are brainwashing our children and attempting to turn them against us.

Stacked deck

I agree. The village wants to replace the parent, and especially the grandparents.

I keep going back to Katie Couric's interview with Sarah Palin. See the assumptions behind this question:

"COURIC: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this — to stay informed and to understand the world?"

That question scares the hell out of me. It's like a Pandora's box; once opened, the evils come flooding out.

to stay informed and to understand the world

KC thank you for pointing that out concerning the Curic interview. I hadn't picked up on that. When I was growing up we were encouraged to respect our elders and to listen and learn from their years of accumulated wisdom. Now the extreme liberals are strategically in place to create the illusion that older people are racist, evil and out of touch. It is very scary.

How long...

How long after an Obama victory would it be before they begin to set up drive-though death-with-dignity facilities so that they can rid society of the troublesome problem of the elderly?

"Wisdom... we don't need no stinkin' wisdom!"

"Marriage is a duel to the death which no man of honour should decline." -GKC

don't forget

They will also eliminate the problem and BURDEN of the unborn at these clinics.

Palin has accomplished great things, while Obama has continued to make empty promises that the world owes you a living.

I wouldn't mind civil

I wouldn't mind civil unions, but I do oppose re-defining marriage as anything but the traditional male+female union.  And I'm not exactly considered old.  (According to the media, I should be an Obamamite.)

truth be told

-that Wilfore and her ilk will legislate their homosexual agenda to death.  Even if Prop 8 wins, they are already planning counter measures.

Why is there any doubt of the following:

1) That traditional marriage and traditional families make for a stronger society?

Answer: They  know what they are doing.  They are pushing gay marriage to break down our families and divide us.  The soviets did the same thing, then took the kids from cradle to grave.  (Obama's Pre-K sound familiar?)

2) Any society in the past that abandoned FUNDAMENTAL family structure is no longer around today.  Think about the societies and cultures that survived to today.  Are any of them ones that allowed gay marriage?  Or promoted promiscuous behavior?

3) Even if you don't believe in the religious or societal reason, fundamentally nature is pushing us away from such behavior.  People that practice promiscuous behavior are more likely to get various STD's including HIV.  Tell me it's logical to promote behavior that promotes the spread of disease within society?

No Tolerance From Prop 8 Opposition

I walked the precints last month and my wife manned a phone bank in support of Prop 8.  We have a sign in our yard that has been stolen once and we had to replace it.  Neighbors have had the same thing happen.  Any sign in a public area has little chance of being there over 24 hours.

Another friend had two signs that were both defaced with "No" taped over the "Yes".  After that he was sitting in his house watching TV in the afternoon and a car pulled up and a lady got out and walked onto his lawn and pulled out his sign.  He went out and yelled at her to put it back (which she did), but not after telling him that he didn't have to be so loud.  Unbelievable. He reported both incidents, including the lady's license plate number to police, who I doubt will do anything.

This is the type of love and tolerance we'll get if Obama is elected.  God help us all.

Your wife "manned" a phone

Your wife "manned" a phone bank?  : )  Just kidding.

Seriously though, I used to wonder why "gays" were so adamant about getting to be married.  I though it was because they somehow felt the need for societal approval of their lifestyle, but now I believe it's more than that.

Looking at their extreme intolerance, callousness and hatred toward anyone who disagrees with their agenda or their behavior, tells me that their real goal is not to enjoy the blessings and benefits of marriage, but to destroy the institution as part of their agenda to wipe out all remnants of traditional societal and religious values.

They are on a crusade, and I believe that at its roots their crusade is against God...or at least the traditional view of God as Creator of Adam and Eve (not Adam and Steve) and as the founder of the institution of marriage.

Thank God for compassionate liberal Democrats.

This is the party of compassion, after all.  They keep screaming that in our ears every chance they get.

If Obama gets elected, we can expect more complete idiocy such as this moonbat spouted for the next 4 years.  The only difference will be is that it will be coming from the Oval Office.

either way it will happen

If McCain wins the moonbats will be yelling that we are racist, fear mongering idiots.

and that he stole the election.

Palin has accomplished great things, while Obama has continued to make empty promises that the world owes you a living.

She must be a devotee of Uncle Joe Stalin

As Uncle Joe famously said:

"Death solves all problems--no man, no problem."

I really don't care if gays

I really don't care if gays get married or not, but the fact that a majority of my state wanted them not to only to be shut down by the courts would be why I support 8. If I could vote that is....
